Bringing discussion from the episode 7 topic so we can use the details we are given in this episode.

Eh...some things in the Spanish subs were wrong, like Monaka saying Naegi turned her into a woman when in reality she said it was Komaeda. After that, I had to recheck all the episodes in English subs. Ah, but the first episode was the only one that was accurately translated.

About Gekkogahara. I am very sure that she at least was already replaced by Monaka when the game started. In episode 2, shortly after Bandai dies, Munakata asks everyone to point out the culprit, and Kizakura points at Gekkogahara. He was a very sharp guy so he definitely noticed she was a fake.

But wait, are you implying the robot is from Gekkogahara and not from Monaka? I know it was said she was shy and the robot transformed and fought Munakata, but I always thought that robot was from Monaka. Her company made robots, just see all those Monokumas around her.

Someone pointed out the way she was killed was the same as the guards in the first episode (before everyone got gassed). For me, it hints Monaka used the robot to replace Gekkogahara.

Somewhat unrelated but, is there a meaning for Monomi having a crescent moon earclip instead of a ribbon like in DR2?

Checked the episode in which she faints. Chisa was talking with Kizakura when she called in panic, when Chisa turns around, Kizakura "escaped". Seems like he actually went to check on her (of course without anyone noticing)

Ohh, I´m always watching the enlish sub, so I don ´t have to worry then.

I´ll try to approach Gekkogahara´s death from another angle. Monokuma promised, that the game will be broadcasted around the whole world. It could be a bluff, but let´s disregard that possibility now. The only 3 people who I can think of, who would be able to broadcast it worldwide are Monaca, Chihiro ( AI from the first game ) and Gekkogahara. Also after the first explanation of rules Monokuma unlike of the other games diappeared, like if he abandoned the game. It is strange, because in the second ep Monokuma was really excited, and acted like he was interested in Naegi. Monokuma even speaks to the killer when the time limit reaches the first time, but the other times never.

So from now on its just a theory: The one who was supposed to control Monokuma and broadcast the killing game is dead. The systems which control the game and the killer was prepared before the game so the game is able to proceed even like this. We heard about Monokuma lastly at the beginning of the killer´s second round ( Gozu death ) and we can be sure that Monoca was controllig Robot Gekkogahara at least since the prank, so yes also the killer´s second round. Miaya Gekkogahara was discovered approximately 1-2 days after the beggining of the game, so it is possible that she died in the killer´s second round. It is just my personal opinion, but it may be also a proof of Monokuma´s disappearance, that the game just somehow lacks of Despair.

So I think you understand , that what I´m trying to imply now. Miaya Gekkogahara may be one of the masterminds and a despair. She thinks of Monoca as a fellow despair, so manipulates her to play the game as Robot Gekkogahara. Monoca certainly likes the game, but she doesn´t like to be manipulated. Right after the beginning of the game Monoca tracks down Gekkogahara and in the killer´s second round she killes Gekkogahara, and finds out the details of the game from her computer. ( she can just kill her with her robots, and hack her computer from outside, so there´s no need for her to move from Towa city ) She notices how the game starts to lose its charm after this, and when she´s even bothered by Future F agents she decides to abandon it too. This theory is mostly weak because we know nothing about Gekkogahara´s personality.

And about your question regarding Usami, I never payed many heed to her, not even in the second game, so I don´t know. But there are some fresh things to talk about too. Do you think that there may be a connection between Ruruka´s faction and the 13 th Division head who we know nothing about? Also after your question about Usami I remembered that according to the second game Mikan´s lover is supposed to be dead. Ryota seems pretty alive so I´m interested in the indentity of her love.

I think it would be hilarious if Juzo manages to open the door only to find guns and weapons there. A secret escape would be to kill yourself. Ruruka would fall into despair then, because she killed Izayoi for no reason.

I just hope she reflects on this though and learns that when someone says that they'll die if they eat her sweets then that doesn't mean that they hate her. It just means that they'll die.

Very sorry for not answering earlier, but I got overwhelmed with house chores and multitasking them while watching the DR episodes is imposible since you MUST use eyes and ears to detect even the slightest hint. Also, it is a pain to rewatch everything with English subs, since there are so many things messed with the Spanish ones. Argh, zetsubou.

Now, I have a few questions about your statements. Why do you have doubts about the "event" being broadcasted? Togami himself told Naegi and Asahina there was no broadcast at all. He even had no clue something happened in that reunion.
By the way, Hagakure could had just called Togami for help, but didn't, and yet, when Togami came to the rescue, he didn't seem angry or suspicious of Hagakure at all.
There is still a chance that Gekkogahara was participating in this event, and I think the fact that she participated in the Neo World Program has something to do with this, but as you say, there is not much info on her. It even seems there is not much info about the NWP except from what we saw in DR2. Probably both Mirai and Zetsubou will explain it.
As for times, why do you think it has been days since the beggining of the game? I thought it is happening on the same day? I think even Togami thought they were still in the conference? To be honest, I haven't touched the English Mirai, gonna finish Zetsubou first since I got a whole new theory about those kids that might be related to those in the new game.
I completely missed there was no sign of the 13th division head XD. And about Ruruka. It is weird for me that she is currently part of the Future Foundation, yet Kizakura say she retired a while ago?
I think I have Komaeda's dementia because there are so many things from the other Danganronpas I forgot. When I went to the wikia to check on Mikan's info, I think I got a second mindblown since I forgot about her real nature.

Edit: Wait, no. If what you say is accurate, then Mikan wasn't necessarily talking about Ryouta, but the Impostor Ryouta. They both interacted constantly, he revealed to her his imposter nature and she was ovewhelmed by joy because he trusted her enough to reveal that ("no one's ever said something so nice to me before!)

I´m sure that the event is not being brodcasted, but it is likely, that is was planned to be broadcasted. I think so, because there wasn´t really a need for Monokuma to bluff about the game being broadcasted, because the only one who got motivated by that was Munakata. Also it´s just a past experience, but Monokuma never bluffed about something like that in the previous games. If the one controlling Monokuma is a Despair I´m 90% sure that it wasn´t a bluff.

I don ´t think that Hagakure had any means to communicate with Togami. Maybe it´s the createors trick but I can´t expect anything bad from Hagakure.

Maybe I was too presumptuous with the time. I think that after the sleeping gas was used, either they´ve been moved to somewhere nearby or the building they were in was rearranged ( planting cameras, closing off stairs and windows... In either case it should´ve taken 14+ hours. Adding the time limits, and the killer´s time limits, I tought it would be at least 1 day. Also Naegi´s questioning was postponed once, so it may be the cause for why wasn´t Togami suprised.

When did Kizakura say that she was retired lol ? You completely misunderstood something. Kizakura said, that Ruruka is forming a small faction from young members for herself. She planned to leave the Future Foundation with the members she collected. It would be a lot easier to do if Munakata was dead, so this is why she wanted Seiko to kill Munakata.
The fact that Ruruka has her own faction, tells us quite much about the future foundation. If you remember everything from the beginning there are 5 kinds of Future Foundation members: The ones who support Munakata ( Chisa, Juzo, Seiko), the ones who support Tengen ( Daisaku, Ryota, maybe Gozu too ) , the ones who support Ruruka ( Izayoi, and according to Kizakura some young members), the ones who are on the side of Makoto ( Kyoko, Aoi, Hagakure, Togami, Chihiro... ) and the ones who are neutral ( Kizakura ). I don´t really mean it for the game, these are rather the circumstances before the beginning of the game.

So even before the beginning of the game, the Future Foundation is really divided. We could even say that there is a power struggle going on in the shadows. In the first episode we can even see this from the conference and everyone´s behaviour. In name still Tengen is the head of The Future F. , but Munakata has greater backing. What doesn´t make sense for me, that Munakata even in these circumstances has the courage to discharge the Peacekeeper Squad, without anyone´s approoval. Even if he´s acting like the leader of the Future F he could get demoted for this.

And about Mikan, from the latest Zetsubou episode I think that her love was Junko, and not one of the Ryota´s. I don´t really remember that Mikan said, that her love was he, nor she.

RIP Talent Scout. His sacrifice wasn't in vain and he died with a smile :'(

Monster Council Prez vs Mecha Berserker. I'm excited.

The Confectioner being quite the bitch. Detective forcing her into a checkmate with Boxer. He might have to use his fists once once she gets troublesome to escape. Corpse saliva wtf.

Byakuya has arrived and Hagakure has a longer appearance this time. What happened doesn't look too good, though.

I just checked what Kizakura said about Ruruka and you are right: She planned to leave the FF. In the Spanish subs, he "says" she had left the organization already.

Yes. We don´t know how much time passed between the gassing and the start of the game. What I noticed is that almost all of them were in a different place of the conference room, like they were moved while being unconcious. The only exceptions would Be Naegi, Munakata and I think Bandai, unless he moved a bit during the gassing, but it wasn´t that much.

What I meant about Hagakure is despite not informing about the outside incident (doesn´t matter if he had means of communicating or not), Togami wasn´t suspicious at all of him, and we know how careful Togami can be. So I think this kinda proves that Hagakure is clean.

Are you sure Kizakura is neutral? In Zetsubou (ep. 3) we are shown him, Tengan and Jin talking about Hinata accepting to participate in the project.

So, Ruruka NG code was that she cannot let people left the building. And that her candys control people and she tried to make Izaoyoi don't open the door but his NG code was that he cannot eat. Interesting.

izayoi would have died soon (if he didn't get murdered then) due to his ng code so he had to leave quickly to survive which goes against ruruka's ng code ;A; true despair

Howewer we can´t be sure. If it wasn´t supposed to be broadcasted, then I doubt that the mastermind is one of the Despairs. It would be fun to find out at the beginning, that the whole killing game was just a result of the power struggle in the FF.

About Hagakure: The mere fact that he is Hagakure makes him innocent. I´m kind of sorry for him, but there isn´t any mastermind who would want an accomplice like him.

Well I won´t see it soon, but I hope that the next will finally show us Jabberwock island. I have a guess about what will happen, so I´m eager to find out. I think that Tengen sent out some help to interfere with the Peacekeeper Squad. I hope that some characters from the squad will be introduced too.

It´s just personal opinion, but I think that Kizakura may support Tengen, but not in a way as he was on Jin Kirigir´s side. He does it without devotion, it´s not like Chisa and Juzo supported Munakata. Maybe my answer is vague, but I can´t explain it better.

Kirigiri noticed something rare is happening with the whole event, maybe it is indeed not the work of Despair, after all, in the beggining it was said the activity of Despair has decreased significantly (only 40 terrorist attacks) and the report Togami received indicated there were no activity as well.

Haha, poor Hagakure...maybe he is the 13th Division Head and that is why Togami told him to stay outside as well? If it was a trap, better have 1 head division killed than 2. I feel like we are lowering our guards too fast with him, because Kodaka. But Hagakure been the head of 13 might have been theorized a lot as well, right? Ah...not enough clues.

Kizakura is a whole case in his own. He was sort of "guiding" Chisa through Zetsubou, and he might have been supporting Tengan because of Jin, but he certainly had a LOT of info on the school and the students, specially the 77th class. There is a chance Chisa´s notebook she usually consulted when dealing with her students was given to her by Kizakura. I even had information about Koizumi´s friend (Sato).

I could swear he was freaking "Ultimate Stalker" XP.

take my heart and just rip it out.

so many feels for kizakura. the parallel between this and the scene we saw in zetsubou with him promising jin that he'd protect kyoko was superb. i also like the light character development we're seeing from togami though with how he genuinely smiled at hagakure after making him do all that grunt work.

honestly though, even with this kind of context and setting where i know only the main characters and a few characters will make it out, it never fails to truly sadden me when someone who i kind of expected to die really ends up dying. here's to a few more scenes with kizakura in zetsubou perhaps?

I don't think Juzo NG code is that he can't punch anything. If that was the case he would been poisoned along with Bandai when he punched that one guy (forgot his name, the one with the bags under his eyes)

I feel bad for actually liking Kizakura, I was so beaten seeing him die. Especially for Kirigiri and the hints of it going to back to her father.
Still, screw Ruruka. I'm pretty sure Izayoi wouldn't of had tried to leave the area if she had just told him her forbidden action, I mean they seemed totally in love what the hell.

Well I had a feeling the candy bitch had killed one of them. And knowing Danganronpa it'd be too deliciously cruel if she'd killed the blacksmith. I feel a little more sympathy now that we know her Forbidden Action. But she's still one of the least likable and more selfish characters in this cast. Hope she doesn't last too much longer. Like poor drunk teacher (someday I'll learn these anime original characters names). I was a little confused by the cold start. After his fellow soldier gets blown up, he says "Kyoko" doesn't he? So did he die for her at the end because he knew her Dad, or because of something there I don't get. Either way his Forbidden Action was cool and he died valiantly. After tricking Sakakuro. Also I laughed at Kyoko having licked the corpse.

Byakuya has arrived outside the building with Yasuhiro. Hope that after credits scene wasn't what I thought it was. They sunk the building underground? That's pretty despairful. And now at least Byakuya might be trapped in there with them too. This anime continues to twist and turn as we near the home stretch.

Damn is Kyoko autistic? Is she incapable of showing the slightest of emotions? Even during what was supposed to be one of the most emotional events for her?

Munakata is scared!😨😨
Naegi is lovely with her sister.
Kiriguiri is almost Sherlock Holmes, I love her. "I'm a detective"
I hate when you start to love someone in the moment when he/she is dying, and always is this, ALWAYSSS. aggghhhh

Oh no, I really liked Kizakura, why they had to kill him?
Kyoko cold as always, but I still love her.

Finished the eighth future arc episode.

-i am curious about what the significance of the pre-opening scene was. the woman was named kyoko. maybe she was the current kyoko's mother? i seem to recall something i heard way back about her mother possibly having died in the war on despair.

-so they still count the robot even after Monaca left, because it seems to have entered into a sort of "Auto Mode". intriguing. i doubt it would be able to beat Monakata though.

-as expected, the scout died defending Kirigiri. poor guy. felt bad for him :'(. also, the note that he was the one that took the picture we saw in DR1 and here is a pretty nice touch that shows how close he was with them.

-so at first i wasnt sure how to feel about the "candy development", until the boxer woke up from it,which removed the only reason for it existing. it is a really stupid development too, having mind control candy. and it opens up a lot of holes, such as why she didnt simply include that in her cake and make the judges give her high scores. and the fact that it was ultimately useless makes the inclusion even more needless.

-also,the guy was literally her lover since childhood. she literally could have told him about her forbidden action and he would have ceased all attempts to escape. there was literally 0 reason for her to kill him.

-so Kirigiri licked a corpse's saliva. yuck >_>.

-and the last scene shows us despair zombie guards and the entire building falling? damn lol. guess we will see what that means.

This episode legit felt like a whole load of nothing. like,i literally was like "that is it??!!" when it finished. it was overall below mediocre, with only one nice moment in the whole thing. not nearly as bad as the episode before it, but i doubt any episode will be as bad as that one.

I'm really liking it so far. I'm a big fan of the games, so it's nice to see more about the world and the characters. There's some things that don't make sense, but overall it's a really enjoyable show. Both Future and Despair Arc are really fun to watch, with good characters.

And what about you? Are you liking the series?

I am big fan of the series too! Danganronpa 1 is one of my favorite games of all time, and i quite like Danganronpa 2 and Ultra Despair girls too.

as for DR3, so far i am not liking the future arc at all. i feel like it wasted all its potential and has too many plotholes. i am however REALLY enjoying the despair arc. i think that arc is the only one of the two on the level of DR quality i expected, and having junko in it helps a lot too ;)
after finishing this it will be time for DRV3 :)

what is your favorite case/character? mine is case 4 from DR1 and case 5 from DR2,and Tuko from DR1 and ByakuyaV2 from DR2 :)

Sorry for taking so long to answear. In DR1, my favourite case was Case 6, I really liked to confront Junko, she is a amazing character. In DR2 my favourite is Case 5, it was amazing, everything was so perfect, the best in the series so far (I still need to play DRV3).

My favourites characters are Kyoko from DR1 and Nagito from DR2.

oh,no doubt that Case 6 was the best chapter in both games. i just dont really consider it a case,as it was more of a revelations chapter instead of a traditional "find the killer and motives" case like all the rest :)
and yeah, nagito is hilarious. i quite enjoy him too XD

Kizakura sacrifices himself is the most heroic (more than Sakura's) and saddest death in Danganronpa series.. When it was revealed that he was the one who took the photo.. T_T

Interesting episode. I never thought Ruruka killed Izayoi just because of his forbidden actions.

This was quite the emotional episode. I'll miss hat guy, his death was really sad. Especially since he's known Kyouko for her whole life.

So the sweet lady killed her boyfriend? Damn. She probably could've just told him about her NG and she would've listened. I hope Munakata's lackey opens the door and she dies.

Byakuya's always super cool. Every scene he's in is instantly great. I hope he survived the building collapsing.

Kizakura’s death was the first time the anime series hit me emotionally, I teared up! Like someone else here said, it was balanced. Despite having a minimal role and playing a laid back suave cool guy, we had him promise to take care of Kyoko. It was built up and we knew it was coming but not when. Then when he did die, to flashback to the photo we’ve seen a few times if we played the games and watched the first anime series, that of Kyoko as a baby as if Kizakura was the one who took the picture, that was the key moment. To give this feeling that he was here all along. This episode solidified him as a bro, good stuff.

Is Ruruka an idiot? If she had told her BF about it, I'm sure he wouldn't have attempted to leave. There was no need to kill him.
It's about time Kyouko removed a layer of her clothing. She's starting to feel hot!
