Sales weren't enough to outright guarantee a 3rd season, but that's not to say it won't happen. This season being only 8 episodes concerns me though, it makes me think there will not be a 3rd.

It had to be 8 episodes because they are sharing a time slot. Remember it's also a prime time (6 pm) slot so they probably make a decent amount from advertising. Also there is a fuck ton of merch for arslan that I imagine mainly the fujos are lapping up XD.

Anime is good, fucking deal with it.

Yeah so...basically we have arslan lose his army, Andragoras magically is able to pull off his escape from his cell, regains his army, and then we have filler episodes, and we arrive back 8 episodes later to pretty much where we left off at the end of the 1st season only more parties involved. I could have done without watching this season, and if a 3rd season should appear, after this 8 episode do over of the end of the 1st season, I don't see me bothering it. My interest has been shot.

It was an okay way to end season 2 to enter the next arc but will we get a season 3? I will be truly disappointed if it just ends here because this anime has much more value if continued.

I don't understand why this is only 8 episodes. That was a terrible ending. Continue the damn show. kmt.

UGH, I NEED SEASON 3. AND IT BETTER BE MORE THAN 8 DAMN EPISODES.

At least we get 7 Deadly Sins next week. With /4/ episodes...

Also, when Gieve tries to ship Arslan with someone other than Dayun.

Lol dead. One must not ship Arslan with anyone but Daryun.

I rate episode 8, 8/8, er I mean 8/10. I still don't get why it was only 8. Could have at least been a solid 12 eps. If it was about not having enough material (be it manga or novel), then this was some pretty poor planning and scheduling on their part. I rather them give us full or half seasons at a time, instead of half of half seasons, even if I have to wait a bit more. Otherwise, their approach to this season is like teasing a starving lions with a piece of jerky.

I now have only one question: Next season...when!?

Season one was better...for one it was longer but more importantly this lacked a lot of the character motivations and development I loved in season 1

still enjoyable but I hate how predictable this is. 6/10

Things were getting so epic here and they had to end it. Arslan accepted Etoile's request to save Innocentis and he wouldn't kill the Lusitanians but would kick them out. Hilmes got his hands back on the Rakhunabad, swiping it from Bodin who wanted to start his own little country in the former Maryam lands which means the time for him to march for his throne is perfect. And Andoragoras is also going to march with his army to Ecbatana. So we have three Parsian armies under three different people heading towards the same city and all of them want the throne for themselves. Their common goal is kicking out the Lusitanians, but they want to sit on the throne after that. They are all taking advantage of the Lusitanians being in trouble because of their own power struggle. When they meet, there will be four parties at odds with each other. And they just had to end things like this. Dammit.

Overall this season was quite good much like its prequel. The animation quality did see a fall as the fights weren't as good as they were in the previous season. That's my only complaint here. Everything else was pretty damn great. Now we need more episodes to wrap up this epic battle.

Yeah, this was a decent place to end the second season. Given what's to come, it's pretty hard to put a solid "bookmark" on the story. The way they ended this, it could go either way with a season 3 or just a movie to wrap up that next arc or something.

This show definitely needs a continuation ASAP. Can't help but feel that they may as well not have bothered with a 2nd season (though I enjoyed it) if it was only going to be 8 episodes.. it's such an odd number to have in a single season too.

Haha, nice! May be Lusitania is more like Smaug; obvious enemy is defeated first, then more troublesome enemies arise from allies.

The interesting will be whether the Parsians team up to remove the Lusitanians, or if they will tear each other apart, first. Hilmes seems to hate Andragoras and maybe Arslans as much as the Lusitanian, Andragoras seems to be all abou brawn anyway, and Arslan intends to keep the Lusitanians alive, as otherwise the cycle would never end, so he has to defend them from both other armies while at the same time making it clear that it's in their best interest to leave.

Arslan probably has the smallest army, too, so it's gonna be difficult..

This season was really good, I'm looking forward to watxh the season 3. This ending hyped me, but I wonder how I will react when the next season will come and start immediately with a war.

I was surprised that Arslan chose to disobey to his king for Etoile. I hope she will be grateful ;)

So, basically this season consisted of three episodes. The first, the last, and the filler in-between. Why did they spend so much time twiddling thumbs again?

No sequel announced in the final episode? Now I'm a bit disappointed considering the point we stopped at :(

Well. It explains why we only got 8 episodes and I'm not even mad. This is a good point to end it temporary.

All in all this was just as good as the first season with the exception of the episode count.

About the episode itself. Why did the queen go to that guy exactly at the right time? I mean it's one thing if she just goes there but she immediately wanted to have that letter supposedly knowing what was in there before it was even opened by anyone >.>

Also is she really Arslans mother? This is bugging me for a while now. Especially after one of the episodes this season I was wondering how those three fit together (meaning Arslan and the king and queen). There is all that talk about Arslan not being related to the king but tbh the queen does not seem to care much about the king but instead Arslan (at least in one episode it looked like that).

I loved Arslan's courage in this episode, with him finally facing up to his father. The battle scenes were well-done as always, and ETOILE IS BACK YAY!

I'd like to say we're guaranteed a season 3 at some point, but I guess for now we'll have to wait - I do hope it won't be long!

This could have probably been produced better within an OVA format, but I guess they were just too low budget to produce one? If you've been keeping up with this weekly, then I suppose this episode can seem like a cliffhanger, but after watching the entire thing in one go, I have to say that I wouldn't mind the studio having skipped this entire thing and just summarized it later. Only so many minutes of this season of Arslan were of any notable significance, and something clearly went wrong in the QA.

One last round for ART.

I have to say, Arlasn's story this season was the weakest. I had far more fun watching Hermes story line as well brother traitor one. Arlan's story was ultimately a re-start of season 1 and felt quiet underwhelming since you know what to expect.

However, it did wonders for Hermes. He is not just raged filled villain, he has another side to him. Defo makes him more likeable.

There better be season 3, considering that we are pretty much at the end of whole story.

Oh come on, how unfair is that? Great buildup to the big battle but until there's a third season that's just one giant tease. A bit mixed on my feelings towards this season. While it felt like an inconsequential side story, the major developments that did occur were indeed crucial to the turning point for whatever final battle will occur. With Arslan splitting from his father and Hermes breaking ties with Lusitania, the increase in factions and motives only bolsters my curiosity to see how it all plays out.

I will say that the detour to Gilan was refreshing and even a bit reminiscent of Akatsuki no Yona. Although I liked the sparring of ideologies between Narsus and Shagard, there was hardly a battle of wits to be had. It felt a tad bit too predictable and effortless on Narsus's part. That final duel was awesome as hell though.

I'm just glad that there was indeed movement in the plot and this season even manages to humanize Hermes to some degree which at least adds a few shades of gray to how I feel about him. Not quite on par with season 1 but if a sequel really does come, maybe it played its part as a bridge to the finale perfectly.

Wait, what the hell? They end it with a cliffhanger? LIDENFILMS studio really likes to mess with their viewers huh?
Well, they better do the season 3 as soon as possible or that cliffhanger would annoy the watchers of this show.
Anyway, I will be rating this anime show a 7 (or 8?) out of 10 score over all. Until the season 3 airs till then.

This can't be the final episode! It is such an awful place to leave it here.

I am glad to see Arslan growing up noticeably, deciding to face his father is a brave step.
and I still feel sorry for Hermis. He is bad, yes. He is evil, yes.
But I still sympathise with him.
