| I've watched some shows like Kaze no Stigma, Sankarea and Tokyo Ravens where the female mc loves her male mc cousin. I'm just wondering if cousin marriage is widely accepted in Japan because in my country,you can't marry your 1st to 3rd cousin. Also, I find it weird for some people to fall in love with their cousins because basically cousins are like your siblings. What are your thoughts? |

| Cousins relationship is pretty normal. But most educated parents ( like my own ) prefers and tries to marry off their children to someone totally unrelated (by blood ) to create new relations and bond. That's how things work in my country. |

| In my country it's not so usual, but it's legal. I don't think it's strange or immoral, cousins aren't such a close relatives. I would say cousins are more like childhood friends than siblings, but I guess it depends on how much time they spend together and how close they are. |

| I think it's legal in my country, my old classmate's parents were first cusins so... To a personal level, I have no problem whatsoever with incest, be it between cusins, relatives or even actual siblings. Since I don't care at all about morals, the only thing that I find logical against marriage between relatives is the high risk of malformation and/or disease so I wouldn't really allow siblings to have childs; but if they adobt them I don't see where's the problem (yeah i'm prepared to be flamed to death) |

| Idk if it's legal where I live (Canada), but my family is originally from Lebanon and it's legal there (and in most Arab countries, I think? Not sure about elsewhere, though). It's not really that weird if you've grown up accustomed to the idea. My aunt married her cousin and a few of their kids had some birth defects (one has 7 fingers and 7 toes, another has 10 fingers and 7 toes). Their 3 other kids are totally fine though. Also my uncle married his cousin and all 4 of their kids are fine. |
