The official Twitter account of Kagewani posted a video announcing the series' second season. Titled Kagewani Shou, it will begin airing on April 1 during the Ultra Super Anime Time block on Tokyo MX alongside Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends and Uchuu Patrol Luluco.

Kagewani is an original anime by Tomoya Takashima. It follows a scientist named Sousuke Banba who pursues mysterious creatures known as "kagewani." The first season aired last year from October 2 to December 25 for a total of 13 episodes.

I was surprised to see this on MAL but no news before I went to sleep yesterday, but great news! After that sort of implied there will be a continuation of an ending, I'm excited to see more! Kagewani was a pleasant surprise last season. Didn't think I would end up liking it so much.

Wow, I actually didn't think this would get another season. I thought S1 was decent so I'm looking forward to this.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

I hope there will be a boss monster of some sort this season rather than the Monster of the Week type of thing.

Great! Wasn't really sure if there will ever be a second season but had some hope. Now I can know what is going to happen to Banba-sensei.

Meh. I wasn't a fan of the first season. It had potential but was disappointing. Not sure if I'll watch season 2.

Fab news, first season was a nice departure (visually at least) and the story just got more interesting as it went on. Will be interesting to see where it goes from there.

couldn't watch the original and I liked ping pong and aku no hana. I am not that superfical but just static pictures with voicer over isn't enough.

I was expecting a season 2 before I even saw it announced due to it being the same director as yami shibai which has 3 seasons of shorts. He seems to like doing these experimental horror shows as shorts with static animation and seems to enjoy continuing them. Also can't be that much budget spent on making these, so I could see it more likely getting another season even if they had to produce it independently.

Definitely good news though, as I have thoroughly enjoyed the 1st season. Especially the episode with the Ningen creeped me out. I hope they show more monsters of the week though and continue the story as well following the same format. I think that worked well for this type of series. I mean who didn't enjoy seeing the new monster designs of the week. Some were just straight out creepy and others were really creative/designed well. The plot is pretty decent to for what little it has towards the end. I just hope it isn't entirely about shadow crocs next season and hopefully they will have more new creatures in it.
