Third one was comfy af tho.

Only FMA intro/outtro I was never particularly fond of was this one, otherwise they're all either great or God-Tier.

I dig how Prison School is always about skirting the line between sexy and disgusting with an overly serious and highly tense tone (the girls are actually hot but the show/manga expresses said hotness in as creepy and uncomofortable a way as possible so being with them is simultaneously a dream and nightmare come true). That and the way it uses its art and direction to frame the retarded situations as a super serious prison drama kinda makes Shimoneta look downright conventional by comparison tbh.

Yeah, but simply being overly serious and dramatic is not a hard recipe to execute imo and I just don't think it's anything special even though I did enjoy that OTTness. It's been done before, just not with all the disgustingness (which I honestly don't need). And since I'm more of a loli guy I don't even find the girls very attractive, especially considering I can't ignore personality when finding or not finding someone attractive, and I never liked abusive characters.

Shimoneta might be more conventional (though as I said, Prison School is not particularly innovative either) in it's execution, but if you take away the Over the top SM setting of prison school, it's pretty much just ecchi situations, with some scat and OTT dramatic execution. The silliness of Shimoneta's premise, the stupid 'terrorism' and Anna's complete obliviousness to everything made it more intriguing to me. Having a solid execution (which Prison School has) is one thing, but I do not to find the content somewhat appealing for that to carry a show.

If I ever continue Prison School I might change my mind, or I might become even more convinced, we'll see. I probably will give it another try once I'm done with most of the seasonals.
I probably regret this post by now.

Saying something wouldn't be nearly as good without it's secret ingredient doesn't say a whole lot to me. Of course that's not all that makes it work. Another reason why it works is because of how well it builds up. Putting a bunch of dominos together and seeing what happens when they all fall over is fun. It's pretty much the Rube Goldberg machine approach to ecchi humor, which is perfect for a show that involves plenty of complex and bizarre plans. It's way better than comedies that don't go much deeper than the whole "oh he saw her naked and made her yell BAKA! now laugh!" schtick. Said build up takes time though. Between those two kinds of humor Shimoneta is squarely in the middle for me.

I've only got the last double-length Mushishi episode to watch. S2 ep22 (the one about the tree) was one of the best in the series, but a combination of wrong mindset, coincidences, and the fact that some of the stories were quite mediocre, imho, didn't make me like those last 10 episodes that much. I'll rewatch them in a couple years.

The best FMA OPs are OP3 and Brotherhood OP1 and 2. The best ending is the Winry fanservice one in FMAB.

You know as far as production quality goes, The Seven Deadly Sins anime surprised ne for being really good for a shounen title. Then I remembered it has the same dudes that were on board with Blue Exorcist (same director, studio, and that one composer besides Kanno and Kajiura whose name people actually remember).

Is Hanasaku Iroha any good? I've seen it mentioned quite a bit on AD recently.

I would say it looks bland, but so does True Tears at a glance and they're both by P.A. Works.

It's good. Best Mari Okada work.
If you like stories about passion and hard work, with a sort-of ensemble cast, you should like it.

It feels so much better to just put them on hold and wait for an arc (or the entire series) to finish before picking it back up.
Don't be a masochist... unles the hype and the post-chapter discussions are worth the suffering.

That's what I've always done up to now... But for some reason I'm craving more World Trigger recently, the manga sub-forum is way more active now though which is a blessing, however it's still not enough <.<

Huh. That must be extra terrible for monthly manga... I only had to deal with it once though (waited 3 months only to get 5 pages omake chapter and 16~ pages regular chapter, after which I gave up entirely).

Thankfully I don't feel the need to read the VN, best girl already wins in the anime. It's not like Clannad, where you'd want to read the best girls' routes.

That's funny, because I find it far more delusional to take seriously an established ship based on one half of one episode, when the other develops over the entire series.
