I am sure I will enjoy this show from what I have seen from the first episode - the art style is badass, the opening is kickass, the characters seem good enough for what is essentially more of a mindless action focused thing, but at the same time there will always be a gnawing regret at the back of my mind of what could have been had ufoubw and god eater production teams were switched. | i love love love the art style and the color palette! but......... the characters.... meh the directing...... meh the story........ meh the dialogue....... CRINGEWORTHY ewwwwwww watching episode 1 makes me feel second hand embarrassment for the writer Sokah said: Style was different, but it is the only thing that was. This is so generic I can't help but confuse it with dozens of other shows that are exactly the same, but it doesn't have Titan's horror, Black Bullet's sadness or Muv Luv's mechs. Well, lets hope it doesn't go down hill by becoming a harem show. Seeing as how bad the writing, the characters, and the directing is, maybe turning this into generic harem with some spineless action would be a better idea |
| Really slow start but the last few minutes caught my attention. Anime adaptations of video games usually don't turn out well but ufotable is handling it and the VAs are great so hoping it turns out good. |

| I got used to the art style pretty quickly and I love it. I love how this is animated. Wonder where they're going to take it from here, I haven't played the game so I don't know what to expect. Was feeling some Attack on Titan vibes, but because that anime is so popular I'm guessing it's just going to have to be a thing we get used to. Owari no Seraph has the same vibes and I enjoy that, so ... Man, I was looking forward to God Eater and I wasn't disappointed! |

| Ufotable is awesome as usual, the animation is very interesting and I love the character designs. Like in the Prologue, Souma is my favorite character so far. |
| How come no one mentions the massive bracelets... How do they even dress and shower....... wat Also, this seems too cliche to me. The writing doesn't seem well done, a show is not all about animation and action. Shame. Maybe it gets better. |

| Okay, so I just watched the first episode. Let me collect my thoughts and jot them down to get this off my chest. To start off, the show is indeed reminiscent of Attack on Titan, to an extent. Now, before you people go on a defensive mode, let me add that I don't intend that as an accusation of plagiarism or some such shit. I'm not interested in the least to delve into the whole debate about which of the two franchises was produced and released first and which ripped its predecessor off, if it did so at all. GE being reminiscent of AoT is inevitable since if you've watched or read AoT, then there's no way you could possibly deny that GE has quite a few elements that prompt you to think, "Hey, that reminds me of another show. Yeah right, Attack on Titan." In the scenario you haven't watched or read AoT, the show still isn't likely to escape being a trigger for reminding you of something or the other, because let's face it, the premise of this anime is not original or groundbreaking whatsoever. So far it seems to have all the ingredients of your typical action anime at its disposal that we've all come across somewhere someday. Let's take the protagonist for instance. He's a headstrong teenager who's desperate to get down to exterminating some monsters ASAP even though he isn't qualified enough to enter the battlefield yet and despite orders against the same from his superiors. Turns out, even though he's a rookie, he can still give the veterans a run for their money because the weapon he wields is a "New Type", which implies he's got a certain edge over his senpais. He probably has some tragic back story involving deaths of his near and dear ones at the hands of you-guessed-what, as seems to be foreshadowed by the prologue, and avenging them serves as a motivation for him being so desperate to wipe out the species, which by the way, reminds me of those alien-creatures from Muv Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse. He also seems to have hit it off rather quick with this guy I don't remember the name of, who sucks at training (or is at least not at par with the protagonist) and who I can totally see having the potential for being used as a fodder for drama in the near future. To be fair to the show, it's probably too soon to tell whether it'll break the mould and turn out to be something worth anticipating every week, but as far as the first episode is concerned, I'm not particularly impressed. I sat through the entirety of it with a poker face. Things just happened, for the lack of a better phrase. The last few minutes of action sequences were anti-climactic to say the least. This is perhaps because it's difficult to identify with the protagonist at this point since the show has barely invested in his character. Nor did the episode proceed to acquaint us with the verse it is set in so again, it's a bit far-fetched at this point for the show to expect its audience to feel the sense of danger and urgency it attempted to shove down the audience's throat. However, despite the not-so-impressive pilot, I'm willing to stick with this anime and see it pan out. It can turn out to be simply an action romp or something better or worse. Let's see what the upcoming episodes have to offer. Speaking of the visuals, they seem to be fine, except for the characters that look a bit jarring. They have these sharp edges around them due to which they don't blend well into the background. But I got used to them rather quick. So yeah, on the whole I don't mind them all that much. |
| Well since most of UBW came here i mine as well come here now. My thoughts on God Eater are as such since i played the game way back my memories are pretty vague... I hear they are basing this on the game story? If so what's the deal with making the MC look like he is awesome, or at least gifted to some extent...his training...and then having him in actual combat and he swats 1 away? was this to make Lindows team look badass?...pretty sad that they made the MC look pretty shitty. All things considered the MC is supposed to be your character...and i'm pretty sure at least mine was THAT shitty :/ but again it's been awhile. Overall i'm kinda meh atm if they make the MC better in the next few episodes (skill wise, i like his personality so far)...i'll be on board. quality wise the rigging looks horrible but most 3D rigs look pretty bad in anime, at least it's better than Knights of Sidonia and Kingdom so there's that...and at least the shading makes it look interesting. Music...i didn't notice Effects? I love those slow mo glitch stuff...i'm a sucker for it so yay for that. I would say he is a shounen protag but at least he has reason which is shown in the first few confrontations were he just listens...to be honest i like that...listen when there is reason to listen to...and disobey when there is no reason to listen to. There was points and logic to agree with the uppers the first few times but the last one was just straight "Stay here because you could die." and i can't accept that as a reason to not go so thankfully he didn't ONLY obey...but at the same time didn't ONLY disobey. btw people should play the game it's good, pretty cheap on the PSP as well. |

| I am a fan of the art style. I mean hey, if you're gonna do a cliché story, might as well switch something up. Honestly I prefer this style to the styles of owari and snk. Only thing is, hope they get to a good backstory... like at least Eren had a reason for fighting titans. Maybe that will come later, who knows. Not the best this season, but not the worst, I'd wager. I'll stick with it for at least a couple more episodes. |

The total duration of time CG (the aragami) was on screen is less than two minutes. And what jaggies? I haven't noticed any on. Could you provide a picture sample? |

| I played the game. It's a monster hunter clone. so don't expect too much from the story and characters, very basic. But god damn ufotable, those character designs look ugly as shit. They look like they are glossed over with oil all the time. How can you make such generic character designs look so disgusting? Manga had better art. Still not worthanyones time. CGI looked also ugly. 2/5 not worth watching. |

| So dumb. Dialog, characters and action scenes were all basically cringe worthy. It actually looked pretty good though. Sidonia was basically unwatchable, so while this wasn't the best looking anime ever, i've seen CGI do a hell of a lot worse. |

No every single step/maneuver and bullet/blow dodge needs to use it though. There are some scenes in the series were slow-mo wasn’t really necessary. In my opinion, those types of “glitches” effects work better for horror-psychological series. Yes, it’s a cool effect, but I’m not sure why they are using them in here the way they are. |

| I didn't think I'd dislike an anime more than I hate Fate/UBW. So boring and too much action going on. The OP song was the only thing I found worth it. (Currently on my 4th listen of it. I love Tattsun <3) They overdid the style effects with the slow mos, zooms and quick switches. Like, calm yo'self. It felt like watching a video game cut scene. Will drop/on-hold for now and wait for more feedback. |
