| I've had a few experiences in the past where I've come to blows with my father, and one time where my mother has tried to assault me. In the latter case I managed to restrain myself from losing it, but with my father fighting has been unavoidable. He has always disrespected me. He'll remain a bitter and antagonistic man until the end I believe. It's always been self-defence, but I've always felt that it sucked being force into a fist-fight. The tension between my parents and I was one of the main reasons I moved out and started living on my own. When you're the age most of us are, society tends to believe and feel sorry for your parents in situations of dispute, in my experiences. What about your experiences? Have you ever been in a similar situation where you ended up in a fist-fight with one or both of your parents? |

| Never happened to me and I don't think it will. But my dad pisses me off sometimes, specially when in a discussion he knows he is losing and starts exaggerating facial expressions and saying "don't talk me back, respect me" and that kind of bullshit. Also when he is in bad humor and complains about every single thing and out of them starts to bring topics that have nothing to do. And I am not the only one who gets pissed off, my mom too. When that sort of things happen I want to punch him but I don't. |

| My dad is actually mentally ill. Not sure exactly what is wrong with him but he is very bipolar and has anger problems. It has come to that a few times but in the past few years I have actually gotten bigger than him and stronger and the last few times it ended badly for him. The testosterone levels in my family seem to be always a bit too close to the breaking point (sister included. My mother's the only passive-aggressive/Jewish mother-type), so we'd have full-blown confrontations, out-shouting and stare-downs at the drop of a hat almost every day. Thrown in a pinch of constantly changing dynamics of Oedipus/Electra complexes between all family members and you had us over the span of four years. | I've been in multiple fights with both of my parents. My mother's fights started and stopped at just me pushing her away from me when she got aggresive (granted I antagonized her first), but I got into fist fights multiple times with my Dad for many different reasons. Unfortunately my Dad is a muscle tank so there was no winning those... >_> My left jaw is still screwed up a little bit. It makes a popping noise whenever I chew or move it strangely. |

| My parents did yell at me a lot when I was a kid, but they never hit me or anything. My mom kind of feels bad for yelling at me so much, though, but it's whatever now. |
