| Pretty much of an exposition episode and with a few of Rin's ass shots. I wouldn't mind if I see more of this glorious unlimited butt work in the coming episodes though. I couldn't help but rejoice the moment Kirie was shown. 5/5 |

| Isayama Hajime should be awarded The Manga with The Highest Inconsistencies of Characters' Appearances. He keeps performing multiple plastic surgeries on those Shingeki No Kyojin characters in a SINGLE chapter. Yes, I've read up to the latest chapter of Shingeki No Kyojin manga. Forced myself to read through the kidsketching chapters after the anime's ended. At least from now on, I only have to go through the hell once a month. Patiently awaiting SNK TV/movie/OVA anime-sequel. The 2015 SNK live-action movie would probably suck. |
| It's amazing how long these episodes threads can get, even when its been less than 24hrs after the anime has released :P Well I thought that was an okay episode. It was adapted quite well as always, at least a good number of the lines if I can remember correctly are verbatim from the source.. This particular segment of the visual novel was never my favorite by a long shot to be honest. I give the studio HUGE HUGE props for somehow diluting all of that explanation dialogue to less than a full episode of anime, I remember both the Rin explanation scene and ESPECIALLY the Kotomine explanation scene in the church were extraordinarily long in the visual novel. Awesome fight upcoming..I've always wanted to see this one animated, so lets see how it goes.. EDIT: DAMN, we did not get the original music theme for when you visited the church in the visual novel. It was my favorite soundtrack from the whole entire thing lol. Well you guys can listen to it here if you haven't played the visual novel, and just imagine hearing it while you are watching scenes in that church. |

| In the VN, the church appeared bright like the lights were turned on when Shirou entered. In the anime, the church was dark. I don't know if this was a change or not. |

| People are saying this episode was just an exposition dump but I think that's underselling it. The dialogue in the scene with Kirei and the dynamics at play were great. Reminded me of Fate/Zero kinda. |

That's an interesting point you have there... I'd still like to have the VN music though since it was my favorite track from the entire visual novel :P Not to rant on differences, and not saying that this change makes it a worse experience than the VN. But one of the users who commented a few posts ago has a good point. In the VN the church was very well lit, and Kirei seemed to be towering over you and a lot closer to Shirou in proximity than he seems to be in the anime. In the anime it seems like a regular dark church , when in the visula novel you have this very creepy vibe going on with the haunting music despite the fact that it looks like an ordinary well lit church, and the creepy priest guy staring you down lecturing you hahaha. The creepy atmposphere of the church is especially cool if you think about |

| Yeah it sucks that Church on the Hill wasn't played, but the scene was very well executed and portrayed Kirei's eerie demeanor just as well. |

| What's funny is that before "Yorokobe Shounen", they were supposed to show Kirei up-close right behind Shirou as he leaves the church. Instead, what they ended up showing up-close in this episode was actually Rin's butt. lol |

It makes me think - who the hell, in a moment of frustration, would ever get up, turn their butt to you, get down on all fours, then start shaking their butt while whining? That looked so weird lol. It's kind of funny when you think about it... although some people thought there was fan service in the prologue, I thought everything looked pretty normal. But now, I think they went out of their way to provide fan service that doesn't look believable... which is why I don't buy it (except for the cute part at the end, which was great). Like I said before, it's like those scenes in Grisaia no Kajitsu where they make a point of showing everything from a different angle just so you can see a pair of panties. I don't buy it because there's not a good excuse. But when Yuuji gets in his room and sees Amane's boobs in all their glory because she made a point of getting inside his room just to get caught naked... that's a whole lot better! |
| @ Flameseek I didn't really care for that part with Rin either, but eh as long as they don't do that kind of stuff when things get serious and don't excessively do it, I'm cool with it. That's why I didn't mention it in my first post, btw. But, yeah, pretty much the only thing in the episode I didn't like. |
