I kinda know what you mean and although thats annoying, to me it's more annoying when an anime doesn't explain anything and expects the watcher to make of it what they will. I agree sometimes they spoon feed too much but better than lazy storytelling, for me

>Why does it feel like almost every anime series(with a few exceptions) are the same show and the same characters branded with a different name and look?

live for the exceptions!! they're usually most popular shows in a season

>I mean seriously I choose a random anime and 9.9/10 times I will face palm at least once within the minute.

heh, it's random anime what do you expect; always keep hopes low for these xD or keep randoming until something seems legit interesting

>Wtf happent? I mean don't me wrong, some stories are just outstanding and they can be evenly paced and have a great soundtrack, voice acting, etc, and still treat the audience like a new born fetus seeing the world for the first time. WHY.

a) anime is for kids lelele
b) episode length is required to be around 22 minutes, and padding the dialogue is an easy way to reach that

also you should watch ping pong

edit:
>Like why can't there be anime that opens up for interpretation, like some of the greatest movies of our time ex: "A Space Odyssey", or those that just shut up and lets you enjoy the movie without having to explain everything ex: "Gravity", or those that just makes you think ex: Mulholland Drive, Donnie darko, Fight Club, Primer, etc..

what do you think about the anime movies you've watched?

Any "anime" adapted from video games like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Dante's Inferno, Bayonetta, etc. Only remotely good adaptation is Gungrave I think. At least what critics said about it.

1-Japanese culture is more into theatrical expression than the Western ones.
2-The intended audience. Anime is heavily divided into demographics and appeals to specific niches, the movies you mention don't have an intended audience per se.
3-Fansubs may play a role in there, because many commonplace expressions and interactions can be difficult to translate and make them feel unnatural for our standards.

The reason many anime explain everything is because not everyone even in Japan has read or played the source material to every anime.

You should try watching, "My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU", "Monster", or "Fate/Zero".

I think maybe you're looking for something in the wrong form on entertainment. Most anime is goofy and retarded because Japanese like goofy and retarded. Their society is a lot more serious than western society. When they want to wind down they don't want to have some existential crisis or what-have-you thrown at their face.

The main reason: Because it's easier/costs less to animate characters talking than characters actually doing stuff.

Personally I would also prefer the "show, don't tell" approach, but I also think it's better to have an abundance of information (assuming it's useful information or at least interesting for world building) than too little if you are going to explain something.

Yea that's not why it was there. If the anime itself was treading its audience like retards it wouldn't wait 111 episodes to do so.

On topic, I really hate anime taht are rated 17+ but still treat you like you are a retard or sth. I don't mind stupid things from anime that are targeted for kids (although that doesn't mean I like the anime). For example take sth like Btooom, it features an MC who is good at games (and has not trained in real life combat) but suddenly he is also Rambo in real life and death situations, better than trained marines....

That's a pretty good example. The parts where the narrator repeats what the characters already stated were especially hilarious.

Mahouka is a good example. It treats you like a retard in the sense that it thinks you'll just mindlessly gobble up the magical jargon and ignore everything the show does horribly, horribly wrong.

You don't even need to understand the magic system. It has no relevance to the story or the character's development. It's just there so the author can distract you from how utterly generic and shallow everything else is. The themes, the story, the characters, the setting, when you put aside the pointlessly convoluted magic system pretty much everything about the show just crumbles because it's been done and done better a million times before.

The author can prattle on about his bullshit magic system until the cows come home but he can't write a compelling story to save his life. It's the same generic shit you can find in just about any season only way more boring because it pretends to have the same level of intelligence and sophistication of shows with genuinely good writing and complex themes like Fate/Zero or Monster without actually doing anything smart or unique.

Funny thing is, there's also anime where the exact contrary was done. Explanation was required to understand yet they choose to avoid the explanations in order for it to sell; and it sold. Even though there was no way to understand properly what was going on without those explanations.

A good example of this would be kyoukaisenjou no Horizon.
Op, maybe you're thinking too far about this. It's difficult to know what to explain and what will be understood without explanations by watchers. An explanation you didn't require may be required for someone else, and the contrary is true as well.

Probably if you're like me and have trouble taking things as mindless fun, it's a bit annoying how it expects you to believe half of the plans Shiro makes up. They just seem like massive asspulls which is fairly insulting to the viewer.

Treated audience like retards, or wanted retards to feel smarter than they actually were.

Tricked retards into thinking it was "deep" in some way.

I'd say it expects you to just go with the flow and enjoy the result, not seriously believe in the legitness of his methods/plans.

For the topic AgK comes to mind. Does it really expect me to embrace Nazi morality in a terribly inhumane character just because they make her blush a few times and suddenly she's likable and cute instead of being the terrible, terrible human being she was introduced as? Those kind of expectations are what I find insulting, but the sad thing is that it works on so many people. Just change the outward appearance to something that appeals to their dick and they'd happily embrace ANYTHING.
So I guess I can only partly blame the creator :/.
I probably regret this post by now.
