| Naturally, my answer is that I would rather watch anime because I get to live vicariously the lives of characters which I'll never get to experience. Watching Chihayafuru taught me about the complexity of friendships. Hajime no Ippo taught me that if I just work hard enough, I'll get to achieve even the most impossible of goals; it even inspired me to take up running. Now, I can run with ease, enjoying the lightness of my body with every step that I take; I am filled with boundless energy to face my day. With FMA, I experienced what it's like to possess powers. I admired the protagonists' dedication to learning alchemy. With Clannad, I experienced the sweetest form of romance, bitterness, and longing. Anime is where everything can happen, various issues are explored and expounded on, and I get to feel different emotions at the tip of my fingers, I just have to choose the genre. On the other hand, real life is filled with disappointments. Sure, I may have a job that keeps me afloat, but I don't really feel like I'm living as I do whenever I watch anime. Some say that I have to wake up and face reality, but I'm content with where I am right now. Anime fulfills my need for adventure, romance, and action. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's my personal choice. Hypothetically speaking, if you were only able to choose one, which would you choose and why? Would you rather have anime, where everything is certain, or real life, where you have to take action, risking failure? |

| It's not really an issue for me...I don't really want to have a social life. If you're talking about like pushing back some anime and game time to pursue some sort of career I guess my answer is still no since I haven't done it yet. |

| I don't even watch anime as much as I used to. From what a gather, the more you watch it the less you start to like it. At some point you just start to recognize all the annoying tropes that are recycled 10 times every season. Only anime I watched this season was zankyou, and last season I didn't watch anything. Dropped it all. Around a show a season is what I do. Been doing this since 2011. So I'm pretty much forced to have a life now. Ive been cured of the Japanese cancer :^) |

| This reminds me of that billion dollar winner topic in CD from a few days ago.. If I was a billionaire, I'd probably seclude myself in a nice house somewhere and mainly play games and watch anime all day long, while occosinally going out to do things with friends. Simular situation in real life too. I'd rather do things like watch anime most of the time than wittle my life away with work and many tiring social situations. But that's not a realistic possiblity in normal life that I can live just watching anime most of the time, so I do my best to balance entertainment with life responsibilities so I don't end up being a hobo on the street from neglecticting real life to indulge in fantasy life of anime/games.. |
