Manwha are Korean Manga.
Such as "The Breaker" , "Girls of the Wild's" , "The Gamer" , "Tower of God" ,etc.

And I'm curious if these Manwha ever get anime adaptations...
American comic books get their movie adaptions, novels get the movie/anime adaptations. Manga get their anime adaptations ...so why can't Manwha get their anime adaptations?

Girls of the Wilds, The Gamer, and Tower of God are webtoons that are published only online(except for GotW). So there's probably a lesser chance for them than regular manhwa.

The only technical manhwa that have been anime adapted are Freezing and Shin Angyo Onshi which I believe were published in Japan and possibly their mangakas lived there too.

Other than that, most likely not. Korea themselves mostly stick to doing outsourced animation and making some childrens movies. But teen aimed tv shows, I haven't heard of.
But if a studio in Japan got the money, then they would most likely do it. But even now, most anime are adaptations because then you know there's fans who will watch it, it can boost the sales of the manga, LN, etc. That won't happen with a manhwa, they don't know how it will be received, nobody in Japan owns the rights to the manhwa so they won't make any money if the anime provides a boost, etc.

Ragnarok was somehow adapted. As far as I know, it's an anime based on a game based on a manhwa.

Man, that's a real shame. I'd love The Gamer and The Breaker to get anime adaptions.

web toon industry in Korea is growing really fast. I'm pretty sure soon they will get locally published and get adaption in Korea. Its just matter of time.

I would bet for Noblesse to be adapted sooner or later.
If it has solution, don't bother; and if it hasn't, why bothering?

I also think so, seeing as Noblesse is INCREDIBLY popular.

I also think Ultimate Legend: Kang Hae Hyo would be awesome if adapted.

Goong has a live action TV adaptation. That seems to be Korea's thing, not animated adaptations, but sometimes, live action dramas, because they seem to be pretty into that.

Yeah besides ToG, this would probably be the second Webtoon/Manwha that I would like to see made into a anime. The characters' expressions are priceless.

I sure hope so. Would be awesome to see everything coming to life but...I highly doubt it. -sighs- Just a shame.

Yes! Noblesse and the Breaker Series.

There was a fan made anime trailer for Noblesse which is actually pretty good... With actual animation to it. (...Wait... Was it fan-made?)

Ragnarok got its anime version because it was popular in Japan at back days.

As noted by Anime News Network, Japanese studio only focused in Japanese market and Japan is their main market. If a story isn't well known, it world be to risky to adapt them to anime, right? A foreign media will get anime adaptation if many Japanese known the media. Adaptation from foreign media also would be difficult to get the approval and license. (Don't forget that Naver, the owner of Webtoon, also have office in Japan).

A anime adaptation from foreign media will be out of question since Japanese has own great thousands of manga, game, novel, and original story waiting to be adapted to another media especially anime. THIS IS NOT 70'S OR 80'S OR 90'S WHEN NIPPON ANIMATION MADE ANINATION FROM ENGLISH STORY BOOK OR TEZUKA ANIMATION WHO MADE BIBLE STORY INTO ANIMATION. IT'S ALSO NOT AN ERA WHEN TV TOKYO HAPPILY MADE KIDS ANIMATION WITH GERMANY AND HOLLAND TELEVISION.

Note: anime from Ghibli is exception. Disney Japan too.

I don't think it does matter. Also, i hope that with this OVA, the studios start to adapt more manwha

It does matter. It wouldn't have gotten an adaption if it wasn't in a Japanese magazine.

Hi guys. I'm an animator. Actually I'm trying to work on an animated Manhwa. "Girls of the Wild's" if you know that webcomic. I actually sent my sample piece to the author on facebook but he hasn't seen my work. I hope he can see it. I just had the idea of animating the panels. It's the same panels but I animated every panels while you are reading it. I literally make them move from the original drawing then making an action like noding their head or even get shocked. Its not like a flash animation but more of an Anime on TV but just in a panel. I hope you can get what I'm saying here. I just want him to see it.I hope he gets to see it soon. My name on facebook is Eduardo De Guzman Dacuycuy. An animator at TOEI Philippines.

Err...it is a chinese "manhua", not a korean manhwa.

Aside "Ragnarok" which is not valid cause it is primary a MMORPG before a manhwa, Japan never adapted any legit manhwa into anime.

For many reasons, included the mutual prejudice.

Shin Angyo Onshi is the only one I've heard of.

I guess they prefer adapting Manwha and Webtoons as TV Dramas.

I hope Solo Leveling is next. Solo Leveling is highly rated both in MAL and Anime-Planet. In fact,it's number 1 in Anime-Planet.

Mage and Demon Queen deserve an anime adaptations too.
It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person.

Well, after a good 6 years (two days from now) from this thread creation, it seems that the Era of Manwha has finally arrived with two of the most popular works getting one. Tower of God and The God of High School. Both have "God" in the title so this is godly good. More are coming, that's a must.
