Probably because someone posted the Internet Explorer video in the board for that Microsoft Nanami's board earlier today, he/she might have thought it was that one. Though to tell you, you do see Nanami on a sign in the Internet Explorer video.

On this mascot's Facebook page:
"Hey everyone! My name is Inori and you can think of me as a personification of Internet Explorer.

When I was younger, I used to be a clumsy, slow and awkward girl.

However, just like the story of ugly duckling, people told me that I have really matured and changed over the years. I feel confident in my abilities now, and I'm eager to show you what I can do.

Why don't you get to know me a little better?"
When I was younger, I used to be a clumsy, slow and awkward girl.
Okay fine. I might actually try using Internet Explorer.

Yeah, I saw that too. lol.
She was a huge hit in Japan.

Also, I just noticed a small doll on that scene that looks like Windows 8 mascot, Madobe Yuu.
Another thing, the signboard has word like "JQuery" and "Octane" - a common tools used in developing webpage.

I was imagining Chrome as the evil giant robot at the end.

Firefox can be represented as a pet fox that spits out fire like Fennekin. It can fight alongside Aizawa Inori.

Yeah, if it was made in Japan for use on Japanese television then this can be added to the database.

Nice, animation and soundtrack were good. And BTW I've been using IE since version 9 and it's not bad at all, snappier than Chrome actually. Only downside is it doesn't have many addons, but AdBlock is all I use anyway and that's available.

Holy shit the FPS is so bad I thought it was constantly buffering or something.

That magical girl transformation had me laughing because of how stupid it was.

The Escapist said:
With the launch of Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft Singapore introduced an official mascot, Inori Aizawa, an original anime character who fights "the dark side of the internet." Inori hits the anime checklist with magical girl transformation scene and cutesy personality. Inori's transformation, both magical and otherwise, will take her from "a ragtag past to a modern, attractive and powerful young lady" -- much how Internet Explorer hopes it has emerged from its painful past.

Edit: Huh, missed this thread on a first glance.

I heard that the latest versions of IE is actually as good as Firefox/Chrome but I've been too lazy to try it myself.

Holy balls, just like 15 minutes ago I watched that video and it was at 60,000 views and now it's already jumped to 100k.

Anyway, yeah it's a cool mascot. Still using Firefox though. Firefox needs to get some kind of Holo-esque chick for their mascot now.

Nope, you're not alone.. I prefer IE to any other browser. I have a Firefox install handy in case I ever need an addon but that rarely happens.

The fuck? are you guys masochists or something?

I couldn't imagine browsing the web without adblock plus or noscript or ghostery or LastPass. I'm sure there's an addon of some kind for firefox that makes it resemble IE's layout, whatever the hell that might be.

I have AdBlock for IE, and I looked up the other stuff and it doesn't seem useful. Plus, FF runs like crap on this laptop. I hate Chrome.

Why?

Why.. not? But seriously, it just feels sluggish to me, I don't like how the tabs look, text is anti aliased weirdly on it. Also it seems to crash a fair bit, though that doesn't bother me much. It's mostly just personal preference I guess.
