Now to see what happens in the second half, hopefully D. Rose makes the game interesting (but the heat still win >:O).

The first half, it seems like D. Rose didn't have the perfect rhythm he usually does including Bulls offensive chemistry isn't doing that good right now. We'll see the 2nd half.

Overall a GREAT start to the season.

Championship banner #3 now hangs forever in the rafters...

Lebron and Wade didn't need to do much throughout the game and the Heat still won pretty comfortably, that's always nice.

What can I say, winning just doesn't get boring. ;)

So....this was the first of three big primetime games for Miami Sports team.

Next up....FINS vs. Bengals on TNF (Halloween style!)

And don't forget Saturday (#7 The U vs. #3 FSU)

Yeah....OK....we'll probably lose both those games, but you never know!

At least the Heat won, so I'm pretty happy, and if the U loses, they could still win the ACC Coastal division and meet up with FSU (again!) in the ACC Championship game.

The entire Bulls team minus Butler and Boozer (on offense) played like complete garbage today. We were missing EVERY open shot while the Heat were making every open shot.

This definitely won't continue throughout the season but it still still very disappointing and frustrating to watch.

And Ambalamps we know you hate DRose for whatever god damn reason, but give it a rest. Talk about your team instead of posting about him.

Now this

23.2 PPG

43.8% FG
32.3% 3pt FG

and this

19.0 PPG
6.5 APG
3.1 RPG
0.9 SPG
42.9% FG
36.8% 3pt FG

The 1st is Rose's MVP Season, the 2nd is Westbrook's best season and the 3rd is Damian Lillard's Rookie year. I think the impact of Rose has been overrated a bit since the MVP and the injury.

The man hasn't played in so long. Even if he put up 10/5 in the preseason with 40% shooting I would still be hyping him up; I'm extremely excited that he's back on the court. It's only natural for a Bulls fan. And I still don't think he's overblown; he is easily a top 5 (I would say top 3) player when healthy which definitely puts him in any MVP race.

I just think it's a little odd that the person on this forum who dislikes DRose the most is a Pelicans fan.

EDIT - Ambalamps in your last post you forgot to mention that Rose's defense>Westbrook>>>>>>>Lillard's

Obviously those stats don't account for defense but they do make a point about his offensive game. And I think it's a stretch to say both he and Westbrook are so much better than Lillard on D with both of them coming off knee tears.

What does me being a Pelican fan have to do with Rose? I don't think I have once said I dislike him. I made fun of him about not coming back from the injury last year and I think he should have made it clear to everyone that he was not playing instead of giving the team and fans hope near the end.

I also think his defense is influenced a bit because of the great defensive system Thibs runs. That's not to say he isn't a solid defender but the system hides weaknesses and brings out talent in its players.

I also think he has a lower bball IQ than I'd want a superstar to have. He doesn't really feed the hot hand often and forces his own shot (a bit like Westbrook) but he makes up for that usually with his overall talent.

If Lillard has the same terrible D as last year then I would think so. But Lillard as said so himself that he worked on his D over the offseason, so I'm probably exaggerating a little.

Without going back to past pages I just remember you bashing Rose about his decision to not come back as early as everyone wanted him to, picking at every little comment he made to reporters when he was ASKED a question, hating his game, saying he doesn't deserve an MVP etc. Your opinions are fine, but I just think it is a littler overkill.

And I'm sorry but you can't compare Westbrook jacking up shots to Rose. Rose shot I think 13 times tonight (Just kidding he shot 15)? He would usually shoot more but he was having a terrible night. If Westbrook was having this kind of night he would STILL be shooting and probably would have put up 18-20 shots. Rose's Bball IQ is fine IMO

I think you have that order wrong. Russel Westbrook has the best defense out of the 3 players even though he gambles a lot. He can nearly shut down if not shut completely any point guard in the NBA

Yea I covered the fact that I think he should and could have come back earlier but that remains to be seen. Westbrook is talking about coming back as early as 2 weeks from now and he hurt his knee in April. We'll have to see how effective he is and whether or not that is a good decision but I stand by my saying that Rose should have come back for his team.

I don't recall ever saying I hate his game but I don't think his bball IQ is high and I think he takes more shots than he should and doesn't feed the hot hand. But I'd still love him on the Pelicans and be a fan of his.

I didn't compare Westbrook and Rose directly. I just said he forces shots that he doesn't need to ala Westbrook. I didn't say he shoots as much or plays as wildly. But I do think both shoot more than they should sometimes to the detriment of their team. You will obviously never agree with this because you're a Bulls and Rose fan but it is what it is.

And you're right, I don't think he should have been the MVP. Any season in the last 4-5 where LeBron wasn't the MVP was wrong. He's clearly the best player and means the most to his team imo and should be the MVP every year but that won't happen.

@Ambalamps - Let's just agree to disagree on everything as they are opinions rather than facts. But even though Lebron is the best player in the world, I really don't think Lebron is more valuable to his team than Rose. Personally I think Bosh, Wade, Allen and their barrage of 3pt. shooters would still give them 50+ wins without Lebron.

Happy for Steve Nash and the Lakers! Still don't think they will do better than the 8th seed but with 3 (old) HOFers, who knows. Wouldn't be surprised either way.

I don't think you can base his value on that. They won 45 games without him last year with a decimated team. I think they win at least 5 more games with a full season of Noah and Heinrich who is a great defender and a serviceable PG. They beat a more offensively talented Nets team in 7 games and played the Heat tough. I personally don't see Miami beating the Bulls without LeBron especially if they had a healthy roster (minus Rose).

God damn Pelicans blew it. We were up 16 at halftime and were rolling. Indiana made a few shots at the end but at least the arena was jumping and packed. It will be nice to have an actual team show up on the court.

25pts for Eric Gordon
20 pts 12 rebs 3 blocks for The Brow
24 pts 7 rebds 5 asts for Holiday

Tyreke Evans didn't do much and seemed a bit passive but we played a top 4 team tight and really gave the game away at the end. I am definitely optimistic about this season. I just wish Monty Williams didn't insist on playing such a slow pace like we're the Spurs. Literally 3/4 of our team is under 24. We should be running up and down the court not this shit. If we underachieve he's out of here.

Eric Gordon is like a better version of Ben Gordon.
No..when it was like Tyreke's third season with the Kings, some random Yahoo writer wrote an article on him, and labeled him a zero guard. (And I'm sure you know how notoriously bad most of those Yahoo writers are...)
Basically, in short, he defined a zero guard as a guard who's neither a 1 nor 2....aka they can't play either position well.
It's a guard who's awful at both jumpers and passing.
Or in other words....his description suggests that this is even worse than being a tweener.

So far, Boston vs. Orlando for the biggest tank job. Magic with some questionable play calling in the closing minutes of regulation and OT @ Minny.

By lottery I assume you mean the top pick. Utah is definitely not a candidate for that. They have a lot of talent and won't finish anywhere near the other teams listed.
These are the worst teams in the league and will compete for the #1 pick:

Phoenix
Philly
Boston
Charlotte
Toronto

Phoenix is my worst team in the league, but to add to your list I think we'd have to put Orlando up there as well. Philly has enough young talent to manage at least 20 wins, especially if Carter-Williams plays like that. THE DUDE ALMOST HAD A QUADRUPLE DOUBLE IN HIS FIRST NBA GAME. WHAT!? I really liked him out of Syracuse, but I didn't expect that.

Talk about a rough start to the year for D. Rose though.. you hate to see that. Luckily D 12's debut for Houston went swimmingly. Pumped for the Mav's game this Friday. CLUB SEATS BABY.
