Do you like censorship in anime?
| its no secret that anime sometimes gets censored for vulgar things that occur during a show. to me, sometimes that seems to get in the way of what the creators of an anime wanted to show me and it doesnt even make sense, however there are other times when the censor actually makes a scene funnier. example of the former: bad example of the latter: good so what do you think? |

| Well as long as creators know how to control themselves. I don't want tits and asses every 3 seconds. The only reason censorship is unnecessary is that you can be a lot more classy and imply what's going to happen next (i.e. they have sex) without actually showing anything. I wish they would just do that, unless of course it was an ecchi or something. But if it's a regular anime that was intended for good plot and character development, then I wish they would be more classy. I don't know why anyone doesn't do that. |

| Kanamemo. It got more censored after being released on DVD. Lols. Anyways, I detest censorship in ecchi anime. One main reason I'm even bothering to watch the show in the first place is for the ecchi, if it's censored, there's no point. Waiting for the BD's is always available, but by then I may lose interest. I still have the entire To Love Ru Darkness BD on my hard drive and it's been there for nearly 3 months. Then there's gore anime, which can be a bit much for me. Though that reminds me I should really to watch those Muv Luv BD's... the ecchi will cancel out the gore for me. |

| Intentional censoring is fine, it's part of the show. Censoring after the fact... it depends... Most of the time it's obnoxiously obvious and is distracting, like rays-of-light. If it's more subtle, I don't mind. I actually preferred the censored version of Samurai Girls (ink-splotch censoring matched the show quite well). |

I mean it comes from a character who in the series is horrible at drawing, culinary arts, arts&crafts, practically everything if she tries too hard for this girl she likes but SERIOUSLY????!!! A SCARF????!!!! WHAT'S SO INAPPROPRIATE ABOUT A F*CKING SCARF???!!!!Also in an episode of Daily lives of High School Boys they decide to censor a bug. That is unnecessary censorship!!!!!!!!!!! I mean if you are doing it as a joke like when you are watching a TV show you intentionally censor what they're saying by pressing the mute button but that's' a completely different thing. | Although I'd rather it not exist, I know why it does and try not to pay it any mind. However, over the top censoring really detracts from my enjoyment. For example, in the last episode of Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge, pretty much a third of the episode was huge white lines rays of sunlight that just happened to cover the characters as well as half of the screen. |

| I don't really care less, as long as the anime is enjoyable. That being said, I find it awkward reading the uncensored To Love-Ru Darkness then watching it's censored anime counterpart. Also, that scene in School Days was a lot more potent uncensored. Y'know the one. |

| It depends on what they're censoring. Sometimes scenes that involve gruesome things done to a person are censored. They don't really need to be censored and it ruins what the creator wanted us to see. |

| I'd say latest anime use nice and funny tricks when censorship is needed, and so, bring room for creativity. So it's potentially a way to bring more fun to the viewer, depends on the staff's talent and mentality in the end. |

| I don't like it, if the censor is used more than once. For example, in Durarara!!, it shows a naked woman. It's only in one scene and the rest of the show, as far as nudity, is clean. In that, i don't mind censorship on the woman. In shows like Deadman Wonderland, one has to wonder why they even bother censoring it, considering that the show is designed to be gory and blood filled and not for kids. In shows like that, censorship should not exist, because anyone who watches the show won't be watching it purely for the story. |
