I got into anime in summer 2012. My first anime was Spirited Away, when it first came out (the english dub, anyway).

My favorite types of manga are shonen and seinen. :) I haven't read josei manga, but I like josei anime, so...
I'm also a sucker for good art/animation. Kuroshitsuji has fantastic art, as well as tokyo ghoul, albeit in a different way.

I rate on enjoyment. an 8, for example, means I enjoyed most of it. I'll usually drop an anime if I find it boring/only enjoy it sometimes, which would be a 5 or lower. Or I'll drop it cause I never got around to finishing it... which happens more than I'd like.

When you first log in mal and are still on the main page, there should be a statistics page at the very top left. At least I see one when I log on, you might have to enable it through settings or something.

Yeah, it's especially annoying because people are hacking in and DDOS-ing the servers just to bring them down :/

I have since finished Gakkou Gurashi, and I definitely recommend it! Try to go in with as little knowledge of the premise as possible, though...

Not much IRL -- lots and lots of Pokémon Go xD literally everyone in my family and friend group is playing this game...

Anime-wise, I started watching Gakkou Gurashi which is... Interesting... ^_^

I am pretty lucky to have a circle of super geeky friends--we all watch anime/play video games together fairly frequently ^_^

Oh YES I did xD I LIVED on those forums for a good 2 years of my life back in 2010... Wrote fanfiction, role played, the whole shebang xD

Ah, I have a friend who awesomely lends me manga all the time so I got lucky there xD

I am just so happy that we finally got an official date =D it's been FOUR YEARS.

I ought to read Tokyo Ghoul; I've heard the anime just doesn't do it justice at all. Definitely will look into it! ^_^

I read manga sometimes, though not as often as I wish/should ^_^. I've read Fullmetal Alchemist like 3 times, and I'm up to date on Attack on Titan, but otherwise I haven't read much xD

Yeah, if you don't mind a lot of reading, Gintama is the best comedy anime.
