This is sadly, true.
But i also would not be surprised if this was closed soon. :( Since this too, is taboo.

"Otaku is extremely negative in meaning as it is used to refer to someone who stays at home all the time and doesn't have a life (no social life, no love life, etc) " Dam. Now i needa think of another name for myself.
I guess i am now a weeaboo. Someone needs to think of a better name.

Otaku is thrown around far too much these days.
The whole idea of an Otaku in Japan is actually quite a bad thing. It's just that westerners got hold of the word and changed it to mean anyone into Japanese culture and lifestyles. To be an Otaku, one would have to live for NOTHING but their chosen obsession.
It's a similar story with Hentai, to westerners Hentai is adult anime or manga, in Japan the word Hentai is an insult, it literally mean 'pervert'.

Being a loli fan is weird?

Many may consider it weird or immoral because they are little girls.

I have opinions, use logic, try to have fun, think real life women>fake anime women, am American, and am a Christian.
I'm a recipe for disaster.

Oh right that can be a reason for that

Yep. A lot of people may consider liking loli a taboo because loli are little girls, and liking loli is thus really weird and to some borderline pedophelic.
I realize that I inadvertantly also called people who think loli is wrong little girls. Ironic. And Unintentional. I'm sorry for that if I offended anyone.

Indeed. The recipe for disaster becomes even more disastrous.
Auxoran said:

Darn. Oh well.

But yeah, I'm really dissapointed this thread wasn't about actual taboos, but rather than the word otaku being taboo.

In Japan, the word otaku means to be unhealthily obsessed with something. People don't want that kind of label here, even if here in the west the word has been skewed to mean just "anime fans" by some.

Its ONLY a rule for anime suggestions

1.Do not bump threads more than two weeks old that were started by someone other than you.

i bumped like 10 different threads, a few over a months old. The moderator yelled at me for bumping a 3 week old anime suggestion one, but since it was my first offense it was fine, They said forum topics are ok to bump.

But I did get yelled at by like 15 users

" why did yu bump something like 2 months old!!'
" cusswords"
Why do you always bump stuff!!!!

so I quit
even though there are like 3 things I stil want to talk about
1. http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=353299
2.http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=540406 I made that one
3.http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=575159&show=0

It's taboo for newcomers to use the search function.
It's taboo to report threads/posts and letting a moderator take care of it themselves.
It's taboo to not find a debate in just about every topic.
It's taboo to not rate your anime/manga

Just this once, I'll fulfill whatever your wish is.
