Well Brownbread we can only assume is dead and Nami has been kidnapped by the Yeti Cool Brothers.

Looking forward to see how the brothers will be defeated or if not by defeating them how the crew will get Nami back

Decent episode.
We see Luffy's attempts to hurt the Yeti brothers who are over confident.
Law's cutting down of his supposed team mates was great, and can't wait to see everything fall into place.

I don't think Brownbeard is dead yet, since he now knows that their "Master" is a bad person, he will probably try to take revenge and help the Straw Hats. Well, I think that would be nice and I don't think Oda would simply let him die after letting him hear Ceasar's words.

True I mean it would be kind of a waste for him to just die right now. If he is still alive he's a lot stronger than I thought he was. He did get blasted repeatedly from basically point blank range

I can't wait until the next episode, so we can see how strong the Yeti brothers really are. I also want to know how they ambushed the other three straw hats.

Always a bit irritating when such an arc is starting and the Straw Hats get defeateed quite easily. The new opening promises a lot for the future, especially a fight I have been waiting for a long time for, and of course Law who seems to be moving more to the Straw Hats' side, but I am still curious about what happened to Law's crew. Hope people get back in their rightful bodies soon and I can't wait to see the Yeti Brothers' reaction when Zoro, Sanji and Brook turn out to be alive. To sum up: Can't wait till next week

This. At one chapter per episode (sometimes less) it feels like we're never going to get anywhere. Reminds me of waiting for Freeza to die -.-

Good episode. I tend to forget little details when reading manga so this episode was quite entertaining. The animation is kind of meh though.

Actually it is Funimation's fault. I think they don't have the rights on the new opening if I remember correctly.

Stupid Episode I hate how they try to make the strawhats look weak ,Also Nami in Franky's body is really annoying me ,I could put up with her before because of boobs but now she is just a fat robot with an annoying voice and is even more useless then ever =_=, Expected Brown Beard to get betrayed ,The yeti brothers look stupid, No new opening, That stupid explanation thing about the One Piece treasure is still there (Jeez when will that thing disappear?),So slow, Nothing really positive to say about the episode ... These are my opinions though

If you watch ccs-speed subs you'll see the new opening. It's been in the anime since last week so it's not Toei's fault.

Yes the OP has been out for the last couple eps; time to watch a better release
people who read the manga should stop looking at the op from that point of view
the op has no reason to show what is beyond this current setting, its not supposed to spoil everything to come to non manga readers =.=
animation is not the best but its a step up from the last arc, not much to improve on considering the scenes in this ep/chap anyways

The pacing of the anime has been like this since the war started or maybe even before that. People should have gotten used to it by now. This is actually better than having the anime catch up to the manga very quickly.

Well it's partly because they haven't had a big filler arc in a long time. Just random episodes and a couple of 5 episode ones.

I'm one of the crazy people here that would much rather have 1 long filler arc before a new cannon arc if it means that the main story arc will have much better pacing. I know a lot of people hated Bleach for its filler but when ever there wasn't filler the main story pacing was like 2-4 chapters per episode which was pretty awesome.

I agree. I like filler arcs in the middle of a break between canon arcs too, though it's been hard to get one in since they split up in Saobondy.(I'm assuming they don't want to do the time travel ones like Bleach)
Yes when there wasn't filler it was pretty fast paced, but because of that almost half the anime was filler(they even dragged the filler), they put it in at bad times(before big fights, and in the middle of the hueco mundo arc like 3 times and had to do timeskip fillers since it was in an arc), which eventually led to it dropping in popularity and catching up causing it to be cancelled.

I don't know about that. Every series Funi has licensed has included openings, endings, etc. Its been the same for pretty much every licensed anime out there. Now all of the sudden Toei changes things up for One Piece and licenses the opening's seperately. Its a money gouge on Toei and whoever is in charge of the song's part. One Piece is gaining more and more popularity in the states again, so Toei is taking it for as much money as they can squeeze.

We end up paying for it as a result.

I don't know if these Yeti guys are supposed to be strong or not... I got the impression that they were from both the show and people posting previously (waiting for them to show up, hyping it a little)...

But they look really lame. They sound really lame. Unless they have something else than their guns that they are going to bring up, I can't imagine them actually being a worthy opponent. What the hell did they do that caught Zoro and others off guard? Or are they just asleep, perhaps?

Kinda feel a bit sorry for Brownbeard, even if he is annoying. ^^; Sucks to have the rug pulled out from under you like that. Hopefully he can be healed and he's up to some revenge butt-kicking/giving rides on his alligator back. *lol*

EDIT: About a filler arc, I've always enjoyed the Boss Luffy stuff. Usually they aren't long fillers though, and I'm not sure the AU could really support a long filler. Maybe after this arc, there will be a filler story, so the pacing can be improved a little. I'm sure they can come up with some moderately interesting island with a problem our merry band can solve through violence. Hehe.

Pretty good episode!!!

Seems like Brownbeard has been tricked by Caesar and for the others too. The Yeti Brothers seem to pose quite a bit of trouble for the Straw Hat Crew and I'm looking forward to seeing the battle in the next episode!!

Ooh, after reading the discussions I realized that it was just the site I was using that didn't have the new opening. Well, the video / animation was really cool for the new one... but I think I like We Go! better than Hands Up! ... but maybe this one will grow more on me. Though honestly We Go! is probably my favorite opening and it'll be pretty hard to top it.

Can't wait to see the next opening too though... I've been holding back watching the newest 2 openings until I get that far in the anime.

Nothing else really noteworthy to mention this episode since it basically all happened exactly like it did in the manga.

Although I don't have great reason to speculate this, I feel that Law is as headstrong as Luffy is. The way he saved Luffy at Marineford or flipped off kid or his general determined and self guiding path all make me feel that. Like he’s the type of guy to do the impossible and not give up, generally one not to show weakness. Like I said, this is not substantiated in any real way yet but it's just a feeling I have when I watch him. Obviously there is a huge contrasting difference between both of them which can even be seen in their poses and clothing and voices. That is, Luffy is an explosive ball of energy doing what he feels in the moment regardless of the consequences, and Law is incredibly calculated, subdued, and serious. I admit that Law can be a little frustrating to me, I once described him as trying too hard to be cool, but I don't know anything about him so who am I to say that, I just like expressive characters and truthfully I even find the fact that he is so edgy quite charming. Anyways, on to this episodes Law related stuff. His role here has become clearer, will the missing crew and “something to get back” I had assumed Caesar had taken them in some form. Yet that no longer appears to be the case, he showed up here unexpectedly and made a deal with Caesar using some secret knowledge about Joker. The reason, because this island is connected to the government and he wants free reign to roam around it. Paired with this we know that he “kissed government ass” to become a warlord despite how out of character that seems. This doesn't answer too many questions, as Law being a warlord means he should be able to easily protect his crew from the government and perhaps this has nothing to do with them after all. But this is still deeply tied to them with Vegapunk’s laboratory and island being investigated, becoming a warlord, and working for Vegapunk's former second-in-command.

There’s something so charming about having three incredibly strong and neutral forces going around this island at the same time to fulfil their own goals, all with different levels of knowledge on the subject. I love the Smoker-Law-Luffy circle.

I wasn't expecting the Yeti Brothers to attack so quickly to the point that Luffy was able to detect them and see the smoke from afar. I was wondering about why Scotch went out of his way to play the recording to Brownbeard and then asked if he was Brownbeard, but after they took Nami-Franky for being a Vegapunk style robot, and then said let's have fun with this hunt it became more clear. I think these two have a lot of fun being intimidating and scary forces and hunting down their prey. It is shocking that they took down Zoro and Brook especially because we've seen Zoro cut cannonballs in midair, and I can't imagine a few of those would have taken them down. It may have been a surprise attack, and a great one, but I think there was definitely more to it than that. As for Luffy losing track of them, it showed their sniping skills are great even when they're stylishly skiing and they caught him off guard. Despite how fast these two are I think Luffy could keep track of them with haki or even gear second and keep up, I just think he wasn't ready for it. Overall, I find them very very cool, the way they reach in like monsters, or the way that these huge beastly guys can move around so silently that people don't even realize they are in the room, their voices, that skiing and sniping combo, I like these two. And we certainly can presume they will have funny faces when we do see them.

Lastly, Brownbeard. I and I assume many others realized that as soon as Caesar's true intentions came out many of his soldiers would turn on him. I had not expected it to occur this quickly though, assuming Brownbeard is not dead he did seem to have the loyalty of his centaur brothers and could change their minds. Seeing his perspective of Caesar as a savior made it absolutely clear why some of his soldiers are so indebted to him. As sick as it is that he is the one that paralyze them, he showed up like a savior and gave them hope in their lives. He was their hero. I presume it is purely an act, that he is excellent at acting kind despite having no empathy whatsoever, yet it still gave me this dr. Jekyll and mr. Hyde vibe. I do doubt that has any merit as he has only been cruel when he’s been alone and never shown a good act whatsoever though.
