MANY times...people say they cry when they watch a sad episode of an anime or read a sad chapter of manga. That has never happened to me before (maybe I'm a robot ;_; ). Just curious to see how many people have actually cried during anime.

And yes, I didn't cry during Clannad, Angel Beats, ect.

Maybe I feel a little sentimental, or hell, my eyes might even get a little moist, but does that count as crying? I can't imagine people outright sobbing with tears flowing down their cheeks.

I cried a little bit while watching Grave of the Fireflies and Clannad:AS. I've seen sad shit since then and it feels like I'm incapable of crying anymore.

I don't cry, but I do get the occasional tear running down my face during some sad moments(almost always deaths, but there are some non death scenes that are very emotional).

All the time.

I was never like that in the past, but all of a sudden I started getting really sentimental over the smallest things. I get moist eyes from pretty much every moving scene, and full on waterfalls from the real sad stuff.

Only time I shed more than a tear or two at a time was Clannad. Otherwise, it's a single tear or some misty eyes.

I cried for the future of the industry.
As a child, I was told that society is a melting pot of talents; knowledge and experience combined to form important alloys that will contribute to mankind. When I got to highschool, however, I thought that it's more like a river in which the water represents our peers while we ourselves are the stones in the river. Constant erosion by mindless majority sheeping has made us lose our unique edge. After I hit the age of 18, I realized that I've been wrong all along. Society is no melting pot. Society is no river. Society is a person, a very skilled rapist, and he has fucked us all.

I laughed quite a lot at this. Was gonna post a reaction gif but a certain mod is on...

I think I've gotten emotionally stable enough not to cry at anime. Unless I'm just watching the wrong things.

Why's the poll specific to anime? Is there a difference between crying from a movie and from an anime? I mean either way, if whatever you're watching is good at expressing its intended message and making you feel the emotions that they wanted you to feel, then to hell with superficial facades, I'll cry.

I was in a fit of uncontrollable sobbing reading the end of Lillys path in Katawa Shoujo. As for actual anime, I cried a good bit for some, but I was never sobbing or anything.

Tamayura: Hitotose made me cry a lot... for some reason.

My favorite type of tear is manly tear of joy. As when a character comes back from a defeat with a finishing blow.

You thought he/she will fail, but suddenly the loud fanfare changes and a burst of emotion sprung from the character, wham the opponent fall to the ground. Although to be fair, this is hard to pull.

This reminds me of "Would you give an anime a 10 if it made you cry?".

That was epic, at the time, at least.

Yes, I've cried during anime, won't tell you which.

Only once so far, with Clannad ~AS~ (well two times, actually, but you know what I mean), it was more like shedding a few tears, but I count that as crying.
It's the only fictional story that ever made me cry. Which is kind of weird, because I easily get emotionally invested in them, a lot.
There has been a lot of other anime that came close, but they only made my eyes teary.

The only anime to actually make me full out cry was 5 Centimeters per Second, just because my life is exactly like the main character's. Other than that, Tsumiki no Ie, Tasogare Otome x Amnesia, AnoHana, Hotaru no Haka, and the ending to the Elfen Lied manga made my eyes moist.

hmm..well, it doesn't have to be specific to anime. But I didn't want to put something as vague as did you ever cry? But I guess in general, I was only thinking about anime/manga at the time.
