Luffy should have done that attack on Hordy a while ago, but I guess he just got the perfect chance. So now that Hordy is fully jacked, he reminded me of the mermaid from water 7, i think her name was Kokoro.
He answered Fukaboshi "nothing". He is a person born out of hatred and resentment and is just passing judgement on the humans.
That was also my first thought, but the next episode is called "Shocking Truth! Hody's True Identity!" so I think that it's something serious (especially when you look on Fukaboshi's face, he was totally shocked). We'll propably have some flashback from Hordy's past.
To all who wish to know what Hody said, yet don't believe Karpola, here's the link to the page of the manga where he gives his answer at the first panel: removed
On another note; the large amount of sensorship in this arc really pisses me off, even Luffy getting bit by Hody was mostly encensored...that sucks

I've noticed that too, especially in the last couple of episodes. Its really becoming noticable how much they're cutting out.
An alright episode - it was mostly just build up for the last bits of Luffy and Hody's fight plus a couple of flashbacks. I personally don't mind the slow pace; I mean, I have gotten pretty used to it by now. However, what bothers me is that Hody is not that great of a villain so I am just ready to see his ass get beat as soon as possible.
damn i decided to not watch one piece for 4/5 weeks in the hope that it would at least be nearing the end of the fighting but there hasn't even been the officer vs sh's battles yet. hopefully there won't be any filler at the end of this arc otherwise i'm gonna be raging.
On a positive note at least the next few episodes should be pretty awesome considering the content can't be stretched further.
Striking from nowhere. Killing with accuracy. This is who I am.
God, we are never going to see some nice episodes at this rate if they keep adapting only one chapter for each episode. Just add fillers when you are done with this arc or at least try adapting the cover stories again, they are far more interesting than this
Behold of my awesomeness~

But my feels.
From the time this arc happened in the manga, I still don't get why so many people hated this arc... I personally don't have any problem with the long-drawn build-up. It ends with a bang, it's extremely informative, it's the long awaited Fishman Island. It's obviously just starting fresh, I mean it wasn't called Romance Dawn of the New World for nothing... basically think of this as the next first arc of the series. Whitebeard War / Luffy's past was pretty much the climax... now it will slowly build up to greater things until the end again.
Hordy isn't even a weak villain. Even without the drugs he's strong as shit... however Luffy is simply way stronger. If he wasn't stronger than the beginning of the New World then his training would've been a complete waste.
Seriously OP? When Hody took those druge (again...) i swear i could hear Frieza shouting "this is not even my final form". This whole drug should be named Deus Ex Lenimentum, or something. He is extremely weak, even after taking, what? 150-200 pills?
If he really was that weak to begin with, Zoro should have cut him in 9001 pieces with that attack back then.
(compared to SH crew, and to some degree to Neptune brothers. Obviously, common henchmen pose no threat to him, even undrugged)
Everyone in OP is just so lucky, that Strawhats happen to come by when they about to start their annual National Crisises...
/rant
I've heard so many people complaining about Hody and saying he's the worst villain in the whole of One Piece, but I have to disagree. Sure, he's one of the worst characters in One Piece...there's literally nothing likable about the dude. But as a villain, I think he's great.
He's just very different to the other OP villains who are mostly strong, charismatic, quirky and/or even hilarious to watch on-screen.
I like seeing Hody's desperation to win the fight and how he's willing to shorten his life to do so because he's just not on Luffy's level. It's a nice slip situation since it's usually Luffy and co. who are laying down their lives whilst fighting stronger opponents.
Now, I do wonder what Hody said to Fukaboshi. I'm guessing he said something along the lines of "nothing" because he just strikes me as that sort of guy lol
But hey, you never know...maybe they murdered his family or something...

Hordy Jones: "HAHAHA, shoves mouth full of power drugs, HUMANS ARE, eats more power drugs, POWERLESS TO, shoves 100 more drugs in his mouth, FISHMAN, HAHAHAHAA", bruh you literally have to near overdose on drugs to keep up with humans you are so stupid.
This was a cool episode, I liked the harsh outlines in the art. It touched on Hordy and what's so interesting about him, as it touched on some other things I found quite interesting too. The Noah was left with a promise to wait for a great man to come and that hasn't happened yet so it must be kept safe. Joy Boy/Roger/Luffy all come to mind, maybe this is the ark to usher everyone out of Fishman Island and finally move them up to land. They do have future tellers here. And a fascinating part of Luffy's character is illuminated by such an important relic. Luffy, like when he told Jimbei he didn't care about the history of fishmen but rather he cares about his friends so he's going to go kick Hordy's butt, showed yet again if not for Fukuboshi he would shatter the Noah into little pieces.
This goes with his line about being a pirate versus being a hero, as a pirate he can screw stuff like long histories of fishmen and humans or ancient relics if they are in the way of protecting his friends. As a character if something important is in the way of what he wants to do, he doesn't care about said thing. The most morally questionable time Luffy has acted like this was when breaking into Impel Down and freeing mass murderers like Crocodile was the only way to save Ace, as Hannyabal somewhat said "so many other brothers will die because you did this". That was definitely an act of a pirate, not a hero, as that was not a 'heroic' act all things considered. Sure the prison is incredibly cruel and unjust but many vicious criminals are now wreaking havoc because of Luffy. In this case however, he was simply willing to shatter a relic which has been said to be integral to history, or involving Hordy- he was willing to set back fishman-human relations that have been worked at for generations because his friends were on the other side of it.
So why is Luffy such a great person? He is a pirate, not a hero. But, Luffy's special power is that he lacks judgement of others in any form other than their character and actions. He becomes friends with everyone he deems as cool. Luffy has so many friends, everywhere he goes he will become friends with everyone who is vaguely funny, admirable, or nice. Further, he will make enemies with everyone who is despicable, cruel, and bigoted. There are some inbetweens but the point is Luffy has more friends than anyone, and because he makes so many friends he generally can't do morally reprehensible acts that would hurt them and the things they care about, he chooses to instead protect them. The only thing in my opinion separating Blackbeard who chooses to damn everything to get what he wants including by killing his nakama, and Luffy, is Luffy's amicable nature and values regarding it. The fact he has so many friends, for example Hachi/Shirahoshi here, or Vivi/Toto in Alabasta, and paired with the fact that the manner or judgement in which he makes friends is so pure and unbiased, paired with the manner he makes enemies in the same way, all of that is what makes Luffy heroic and Blackbeard villainous in my opinion. GOSH I LOVE LUFFY!!!
The other half of the episode involving Fukuboshi's Usopp-ian underdog fight with Hordy and looking into Hordy was also delightful. Fukuboshi made a great plan and chose to fight the seeming impossible out of hope that somehow he could pull through. All the while he grabbed ahold of Hordy and asked empathetic questions we all wonder. All coming down to, "Why are you this way?! What happened to you?!". Otohime would be so proud of him. He's fighting out of necessity for his people and when he has his mother's killer in his palm he's able to control himself and even show some empathy. He's trying to understand Hordy, he's not just demonizing and fighting him. That is some beautiful stuff if you ask me. Fukuboshi may not be my favorite character but this episode warmed him up for me, he's a great son, a great brother, a great warrior, and a great prince!
As for what Hordy said. From Hordy being so selfish in his cause, fighting not for equality or even his fellow fishmen- willing to kill the people he grew up with and his supporters, willing to use his allies as literal meat shields, willing to be so sadistic, all of it pointed out to me that this is about him and him alone. His hatred, his vengeance, his power. So, like someone else in this thread, when Fukuboshi got him to answer and we saw those lip flaps, I said "nothing". I was so sure he said nothing, that nothing personal even happened to him, that trickled down ideology made him racist by influence and he used that as a means for his own empowerment, or something like that. All I knew for sure was his words were "nothing". Then the prince calls Luffy and says "I know his true identity", so maybe that's hella wrong. Him also referring to this as his "revenge" means something had to have happened to him!!
Maybe one of my first thoughts were right, maybe he is Arlong's brother or something. That feels off as he told Sharley "I'm not like your brother", but he did have a special relationship with her I felt. Plus, you know, it feels weird to kill all humans and most fishmen all because your brother lost to a human and is in jail. He's even talked about Arlong from an outsider's point of view and said that he's learned from and evolved from Arlong, he may have looked up to him but they don't need him anymore. So that one feels off. Related to Fisher Tiger?? I'm really not sure so next episode should be interesting.
Their plan with the air tank's the only chance they've got and it'd also be a shame if we didn't get to find out more about the promise Neptune had with the guy who had the Noah made if it ends up crashing.
I wonder what was so shocking about Hordy that left Fukaboshi speechless.
