I never paused an anime just to make a cheer until that last picture. I don't know why, but apparently I like the pairing between Al and May. Can tell because I cheered over May being in the family photo, she grew up cute.

I was a bit disappointed that Ed and Winry didn't kiss at the end, but the photo in the credits made up for it... *tears They got married and had kids! And Al and May is in it too! :D

Excellent series. It's true that this dipped into the usual shounen territory more than the first adaptation, but it absolutely nailed the right notes of the genre/demographic for the most part so it's hard to complain. I guess my biggest complaint, and this is even true for the manga, is how one-note father turned out to be...especially in comparison to the much more intriguing Homunculus like Greed, Wrath, and Envy. That and a few of the finer details of the manga were left out.

But, still, I find myself preferring this anime version. It nailed the more emotional scenes, though sometimes maybe falling a bit too much into melodrama, and really brought a lot of characters to life. The action scenes were generally fantastically animated (particularly the stuff involving Bradley or Mustang) and the director did a great job keeping the tone of the series intense especially towards the end.

As far as this actual episode. I loved it. It was pretty much the most fitting ending and I absolutely adored the scene between Ed and Winry. I love them as a couple so, like the manga (maybe more so here), I was grinning like an idiot during the confession. It was also nice to see how Mustang gave Havoc priority (was this in the manga? I don't remember it) and how several characters like Mustang, Ling, and Scar had there character arcs come to a conclusion.

9/10. Up there with One Piece as my favorite shounen and probably the best I've seen. I may even favorite it.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is simply the best anime I have ever watched. I really enjoyed it. I believe that what made it incredible is that it was mostly based on the Manga. I heard that Sailor Moon is officially confirmed to be back on TV on summer 2013, I really hope this time they LEARN from FMAB and make their storyline completely faithful to the Manga.

T___T By far the best ending of an anime ever!!!!!!

I never thought I would say it, but FMAB may be the best anime made I've seen so far. I didn't think Gundam 00 would be beat for a while, but with that ending, I think this just made it to the top of my list.

I've always thought of FMA as a spectacular, perfectly executed series. And I've always considered it to be one of the greats. But I never thought it would reach this level. I guess the first series just left a bad taste in my mouth(don't get me wrong, still one of my face), but a little part of me always new it was a little tainted and I wasn't sure if it would ever be corrected in my mind.

But the last arc of Brotherhood completely washed away and residue left and has opened my eyes to what a truly amazing story Arakawa-sensei has given the world.

I will miss new episodes of this series, but will definitely rewatch it a million times over. And, after that perfection that the last 20 eps or so was I will be double dipping for the BDs!!

Urahara Out!!

Yeah I can gladly say that this show do not deserve LOVE IT but
"The ending of FMA:B.....its like the end of part of my own life... "
I waited to watch it 3 years time, for I did not have much time to do so and it was kinda boost so as to succed and reward for 5 years of studies.
I still have 1 year more but I had eye accident and I'm not sure if I'll be able to see in the future so I did watch it now...
I would give this show 10/10 but again, 3 things I hated:
- some 50-58 or sth long and boring moments with normal soldiers were like meh;
- that was funny, when Alphonse sacrified himself so as to give Edward second hand...come on, many of his friends could help him but no he had to open the gate ( I know that, without it Edward wouldn't realise the thing with giving up own gate of truth but still!). His dad could also sacrify himself and because of that Edward wouldn't lose his alchemy-_- but I guess Hoh had to die in from his wife grave lol.
- Ok, Hoh died but why just why didn't he use his power of stone / gate to bring back his wife?...mb he wanted to die alongside her...

9,5 is ok I guess.
Now the movie;3

A couple of monts ago a friend told me to watch FMAB. I never ever saw it before, not even the first FMA anime. Years ago I just watched part of the battle with the Priest of Leto and didn't like it.
I did as my friend said, and a couple of minutes ago I finished watching this episode.

FMA is truly the best shonen ever. Every episode (well, aside from the very first ones) kept me interested. The story kept me glued to the screen, so much that some times I watched 5-6 episodes in a row. I love every bit of it and, compared to it, things like Bleach or Naruto are very very small.

In this episode I digged a lot the similarities between Edward and Hohenheim: the hair, the cloths and the bag.

OMG story of my life right there. Couple years ago, can't remember if it was original FMA or Brotherhood, I tried it and was /wtf /facepalm viewing the Letto priest beginning ... And dropped it right away.

Then I resumed it, by reading some chapters of the manga, and started to like it. Then proceeded to watch it again starting from episode 5-7. And marathoned it in 48h lol.

Truely the best shonen ever. Usually shonen have crappy storylines, predicatableplot elements and characters and so on and so forth.
But FMA:B is really well made, the art style and soundtrack are excellent. The storyline, besides the first episodes, is really well paced and not predictable at all. Really an awesome anime, that deserves to be somewhere high in the top anime.

6/5

The movie has no proper place in the canon and the only way to make something that fits the canon would be to find some hole where the characters where together and still pretty innocent (which is hard because that's only the start of the show... you can't add any references to Philosopher stones truth or anything that way or it'd mess up future plot points). After the part where they leave to see their Master the anime pretty much either documents what they did pretty much to the T or Al and Ed were in separate places, which makes a movie with both of them in it impossible).

And if you make a movie AFTER FMA:B, people will bitch because the only "cool" guy will be Alphonse since Ed isn't an alchemist anymore, he'll just be a regular street fighter with a mechanical leg and higher than average knowledge of alchemy (but unable to use it). There's plenty of opportunities to show more of the world by setting a movie after the main series but people will find something to bitch about and expectations will be too high.

I think a movies or another series about their travels around wherever they go could be good, but i could see it being quite boring and there wouldnt be much of a point xD

Loved it, was a perfect ending for me :)

It may have taken a while, but I finally got around to finishing this anime. I could pretty much describe my entire experience watching this as something I just "had to finish". I pretty much had to rush marathon this just to clear it seeing how I never drop anime. Yet despite all the gripes I had with this series, it was really quite a spectacular anime. If it had been something that suited me more as a fan of anime, I would have likely had a blast watching this.

Just a to epic ending, this anime was just to epic really really great and had everything an anime require to make it a master piece! This final episode was a great way to close everything off with a fantastic picture of what everyone's doing, the scene between Ed and Winry was just fantastic and it's fun how much he grown in those 2 years, he's now even taller than Winry!

Really great ending, the whole story fits perfectly and was amusing to watch with epic battle's and great interesting information! FMA was also quite epic but Brotherhood really wins this round with this amazing ending!

An amazing run of 64episodes! FMA you're epic! 10/10

Ed wasn't joking when he said his short stature may have been the result of Al's body being "connected" to him. Basically the moment Al was brought back through the gate Ed finally hit his growth spurt. xD

A complete masterpiece in every sense of the word. Strength, hope, friendship, teamwork, forgiveness, and love are all key morals in this spectacular story. Action packed, comedy filled, and emotional drama throughout, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is not just an anime, but a work of art. Through the hardships and pain the characters go through, this series teaches us that the strength and trust of friendship, the love of family, and the power of forgiveness can overcome any obstacle. I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that I loved this series. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood deserves its spot among the best anime ever made.

Masterpiece. Unmeasurable in it's greatness over the original and to anime as a whole. Don't know if I can put it in my PERSONAL top 5 here but I can say this...

It does deserve the highest community ranking here. Gintima doesn't and and since the time I started watching this to completing it, (2 weeks) it's moved from #3 to #2.

soo many emotions and amazing moments in the aftermath.

Roy Mustang still hard at work despite being blind ^^ glad to see Roy's team intact :D Dr. Marcoh is still alive, finally Roy will be able to regain his vision back!! but before that, of course we need to fix havoc first :P good to see Scar is alive even though i didn't like him in the first season. i like him towards the end :D Olivier keen on wanting scar to joining Miles to help revive the ishbal people. finally Mile's ambition of changing the views of other people towards ishbal within the system is being realize.

Ed and Al working hard through labor instead of alchemy ;) just like normal people ^^ and wow Al seem to like May chang now ^^ finally Ling Yao helping both May Chang and everyone's clan. being too greedy huh? AHAHAA XD

Grumman is now the President O_____O Selim is now half homunculus and half human huh? grumman seems to be interested with the notion

Jerso and Zampano eating a lot O___O guess Al and the three of them are going to Xing with May Chang's place to study various alchemy and people. while his brother stays towards the west, and will one day meet up to share their knowledge. aww ;) good luck Jerso and Zampano for finding a way to recover your body.

Ed and Winry confession time :) Ed is so silly using alchemy vocabulary to express his love :P same with Winry XD

so Hohenheim really did died, and was buried alongside Trisha. guess everyone moved on!

wtf Roy Mustang has a mustache O___O is he trying to be King Bradley!!! so he's not blind anymore huh?? Havoc can now walk :D

wow Ed and Winry did marry!!! they even had a child that looked like Ed himself :) May Chang together with Al?!?!?! and she's freaking tall O_____O

wow Ed really does look like Hohenheim!!!! like father and son :)

man i really love the series!!! it's been a wild journey, started watching the first season last october 2012, and a month now im done with the first season, Conqueror of Shamballa and now Brotherhood. and wow this season is much better than the first. they didn't pull a 180 towards the end.

there were a little problems though. first what happened to Barry the chopper? did he really died just like that? i was hoping he would make a cameo.

i feel that they should have showed a scene where Ed and Al visiting Hohenheim and Trisha's grave.

and Kimblee just dies just like that? he put up a much more fight in the first season. im very disappointed with that :(

they also didn't show much of Izumi other than a pic of her towards the end. i feel though she would have at least had a one time scene with Ed and Al.

they also didn't show much on how Ling Yao was appointed King of Xing. as well as Roy's plans towards the top, and Olivier's stance.

what about the armstrong family?? are they safe? since they are in Xing.

other than that amazing series. one of the very few anime's that follow the source material. i also read that some people consider this the best shounen EVER. well i would say it's definitely top 10-5 but let's not get way ahead of ourselves. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure takes that spot sorry :P

i think what Fullmetal Alchemist did awesome, is the lore about alchemy and equivalent trade, plus add in the western style of things like automail and steampunks. it's one of the few anime's that combine western style and japan style quite nicely. but JoJo does it a lot better no contest. still Brotherhood definitely became one of my top shounen anime's ever. aww how i wiish more anime's are like this. guess i'll have to watch the OVa's, skits and the sacred star of milos. i hope they won't pull a absurd ending like Conqueror of Shamballa.

well sayonara Fullmetal, i might read a few chapters of the manga to see what's missing, but it's definitely one of the most unique anime's ever made.

although if i want more 18-19th century setting, there's still D.Gray Man in case i want some more. but i'll probably watch another genre like Shoujo or action. but we'll see.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood 10/10 :D

I really only have a problem with how they ended things, it ended on a good note, but it could have ended better. Maybe with another episode to spell out specifically what happened in that two year gap.

I wouldn't mind another series where Al and Ed discover different kinds of alchemy related information, then getting plunged into some worldwide conflict this time. Just got to hope :)

I had to force myself to finish it, and I was finally able to. The series was a pain to watch. 2nd ranked anime on MAL? Now I see why people don't take MAL's ratings seriously.

Good last episode, horrible generic last episodes, and rushed as fuck first episodes. I just didn't really care about any of the characters. Guess I should've watched the first series first, shouldn't I?

6/10, the animation was the sole reason I gave it a bit more than 5 (Average)

I always steered clear from Brotherhood because i really loved the first FMA series. But i'm glad i finally did check out Brotherhood, and even though the first few episodes were identical to The original, from about 13/14 on it took a completely different path. And man what an amazing ride that was. I still hold the original very dear to me, but Brotherhood definitely tops it. It kept me on my toes everytime i thought a character i liked was gonna die. And hohenheim ended up being an amazing character, unlike in the original where he was portrayed as the bad guy..

I'm sad its over. But i'm glad i watched this!

No, FMA is very commonly accepted as one of the best series ever for a loooot of people it isn't just MAL, it is everywere. Saying you dislike this to most people is like saying you dislike Bebop or Trigun, it is generally just accepted as fact that these are the some of the best. Not complaining like, it's your opinion, but if FMA is wrongly placed here than the entire internet is wrong.
The reason people don't take MAL rating seriously is because of Gintama. I have no problem with it being number 1, but Enchosen reaching number 1 before even airing and a four minute OVA being in the top hundred does kind of give the site a bad name with quite a few people.
