wow this ep really good without gai/inori in action

I hope GC can focus the lost chrismas & implication of apocalypse virus
it clearly shows that gai infected by the virus if he can see void in peoples

shu tried to save jun but in the end he the one who killed jun... well that sucks

You know that has me wondering right now. If Jun was Stage 4 and Gai is infected.

i can actually see him doing that lol i mainly thought those blood transfusion he is getting might be stopping his infection, but it could be that it was only just slowing it down, so eventually he will become fully infected and might need to be put down

i just hope he dies an epic death, rather than having to be mercifully spared, like dying on the battle with dozens of endlaves in front of him

Yeah I agree, if it does come to that, I hope its something epic, a character of Gai's importance deserves it IMO.

God, you're so damn oblivious Shu. What else could, "Lucky chance!" possibly mean when spoken between two girls?

GUTS!! WE USE GUTS TO WIN!

Whoa, what? The Apocalypse Virus can migrate to infect a machine? Wait, before even that, the virus actually took Jun's "mind" and transferred it. Wow, this virus is complicated. Twisting perceptions, letting you see Voids, allowing you to visit a memory scene.

Gai must have it somewhere on his body and yet he's still functioning pretty normally. Guess this also explains why they said he was dying a couple episodes back.

Now I wonder how the Void power is related to the virus. It seems like clashing it with someone with the virus allows you to communicate with them and whatnot.

Interesting episode, definitely better than the crap that was the last 3-4 episodes.

If anything, the Void Genome was a result of research into the Apocalypse Virus. Just like the Drug, Norma Gene, was discovered while researching the vaccince for the AV.

One thing to keep in mind about Jun taking over Daryl's Endlave. That is that the Endlave is piloted by Remote. The Pilot sits in a special chair/chamber and their mind is remotely connected / synchronized to the Endlave's CPU. When Jun was struck by the special equipment, the tracker that locked on to the energy signature of the Void Shu was using. Perhaps to sample/analyse the energy that Shu was giving off. The Virus was ale to transfer to the Endlave, cutting off Daryl's connection and connecting Jun's mind to the Endlave instead. Even after the physical connection, the probe/tracker holding Jun, was broken, the Virus maintained the Remote Connection between Jun and the Endlave.

One thing is certain. We need more backstory on the Apocalypse Virus. When it arrived on Earth. What it does to it's victims, more then what we have been told thus far. The events of 'The Lost Christmas', what really happened and Why. It has been hinted that the AV arrived sometime before 'The Lost Christmas' happened. Shu's Father was one of the leading experts, Researchers, on the Apocalypse Virus. Yet we are told that he died during 'The Lost Christmas'.

Summoning Dark: "What kind of human creates his own policeman?"

Watcman: "One who fears the dark."

"And so he should," said the enity, with satisfaction.

"Indeed. But I think you misunderstand. I am not here to keep the darkness out. I'm here to keep it in." There was a clink of metal as the shadowy watchman lifted a dark lantern and opened it's little door. Orange light cut through the blackness. "Call me . . . the Guarding Dark. Imagine how strong I must be."

Shu is extremely weak and I very much expected him to fail without Inori and he did. Shu feels like an old housewife stereotype from the 50s, useless dumb emotional klutz without the partner.

Maybe I'm seeing something others haven't, but it seemed to me, that there was something different about the initial Mech/Mechs in this episode than in the past. Like they were somehow configured differently. Maybe I'm wrong. It could also be that Shu's relationship with Jun is so much different that alone has an impact here.

So does the Apocalypse Virus allow anyone who is infected by it see voids? Or was just that Jun? I like the theory of Gai possibly having it or something close to it since he does have the ability to see void. This just adds more to the mystery in GC.

Shu is changing as the anime goes on, he looks much more confident in some parts and takes command.

Oooh Hare just discovered a secret. Very interested as to how this will develop. Shu had that look on his face at the end, wonder how he's going to act next episode.

I can see where that's coming from. I mean he's the most powerful character in the series after all. Capable to slicing down a MECHA, fly using bubbles, kill anyone instantly(new!), block a rain of rockets, and make things black......

All of which is dependent on what void he has on hand. All he had access to during that fight was some stupid shears. What was he going to do prune the Endlaves to death?

There are plenty of things to criticize but, at this point, I don't think Shu being weak is one of them. He did the best he could under the circumstances. It was a true lose-lose situation.

I was just telling you of the most likely impression they had.

I'm pretty sure they meant he is emotionally weak. I mean, he has ^No real friends in the beginning, or so he thought. Though I do not agree on that idea, the reaction is pretty normal.....

Maybe but what I said isn't just limited to physical strength. "He did the best he could under the circumstances. It was a true lose-lose situation." Works in regards to his inner strength as well. He looked a bit crazed at the end but that's to be expected, I suppose. Normal is probably a good way to describe him. He's hardly a hardened solider yet. Don't think taking the life of someone like Jun should ever be an easy thing, though.

It will be interesting to see how they deal with Shu killing Jun. I mean they glossed over what Inori told Shu in episode 5. They may do the same here, gloss things over and move on. Which would be even worse for the Story then what happened in episodes 5 & 6.

Something I would like to see happen is for Inori to see Hare comforting Shu and showing some emotion. It would be nice to see Shu leaning on Hare from time to time. With her, we know that she likes Shu and is not using him like Inori and Gai have been.

Just watched episode 10, they aren't glossong it over. Shu is having a hard time dealing with what he did. Of course, nobody knows what he did, so they are treating him the wrong way.

Can't believe I actually liked, as opposed to tolerated an episode from this series.

I was worried that too much time was going to be spent on Shu and his secret admirer, but it turned out to be just right. This episode did what NONE of its predecessors have done. It made me care about the characters. Sure, magical flashbacks are an easy, time tested way of explaining things and adding emotion, but it's been done badly before. Plus I got a little bit of a high from seeing Shu show some balls and initiative. I suppose I can still question is judgement, but at least it's proactive and not reactive this time.

:S I didn't really like this episode ... more high school with Hare, sure whatever ... then Yahiro comes back? His brother REALLY looks like a girl lol. So they try and save him but they're cut off and his cancer thing spreads to the robot? Which is interesting ... I'm interested to know how Shu jumped so high and attacked it with his Void o_O
I like the "bad guy" team though, with the guy who orders the snipers (I STILL DON'T KNOW HIS NAME) ... even though they purposely missed? A bit confused but I like them haha XD
Interesting that the cancer thing is like the Void, I'm guessing. Well, dunno what to make of it, though
Erm anyways the past was ... kind of ... silly IMO, interesting Void he's got to sever life O_O Glad Shu killed him, I nearly thought he wouldn't, but it seems like he's gone crazy now ... well ... interesting, to say the least ...
Lost Christmas ... so it was just an attack that led to this weird cancer stuff?
I'm still pretty much confused as to what's happening here, lol XD

Against all odds this episode was actually good. I actually liked characterization and character development of everyone in this episode. It's was on a different level than any previous episodes. Those just made me facepalm almost everytime anyone does anything.

I wonder if Gai has apocalypse virus as well since he can sense void abilities. I don't know what to feel the crystal mutation taking over a machine, maybe it makes sense later.

This episode was decent. But what is getting to me is that Shu will suddenly realize 'oh shit, killing peepz is bad' much like Renton from Eureka Seven and now we will get the whole...."I dun wanna kill/ destroy things' syndrome. Hate it when characters are traumatized. Quit being weak and stand back up. =.=

I loved the it's called getting ahead bit by Scarface

felt bad for that girl crushing on Shu. One for a shitty taste and also cause he's infatuated with the singing doll chick

That drug dealer kid is annoying even if he has a good reason in trying to save his brother. How the hell did a mechanical suit gain his conscience though? I mean it's the virus an organic thing? I guess not though since it seems to be a mutation of Shu's power (or maybe Shu's power is the mutation)

How did Hare find them at the end but didn't find them when they were dealing with giant mechs and explosions? I thought he was going to have to save her and thus reveal his secret at the expense of saving that jerk Yahiro guy which would make her go into shock or something....

But sad still, I am glad I am keeping myself from getting "attached" to any of the characters besides Gai and maybe 2 others, because than i'd get ticked off with them dying but I was told this will be tragic so I am just going with the story now, Sadly i was hoping for zombies. Exactly what I was thinking. This makes it all the more interesting to find Inori's connection to Shu and the Ouma's. And Gai as well I suppose.

Also, this is the first time Shu has openly killed someone. Sure there were the casualties with the reflecting lasers, but here he looked in someone's eyes and took their life. More importantly, it was someone he was trying to protect.

No wonder the man is going through some crazy shit right now.
