Hm. By far my least favourite genre of anime is slice of life, it just bores the living shit out of me and I can't help it. I mean straight up slice of life, not mixed with romance, drama, whatevs. I'm talking more cute girls doing cute things stuff.

I think I've dropped every single series I've tried like this, aside from Azumanga which was slightly entertaining. That's amazing, considering my disdain for the genre.

kimi ni todoke, i was attached from the first episode and it's definitely one of my favorite anime.

it's not that hate the romance genre, i'm just usually not interested in it enough to actually give a romance anime a shot. i'll probably try them out more often now though.

Ecchi is fucking dumb, but Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? was surprisingly good (aside from tsundere loli bitch and vampire cunt with watermelon tits).

My issue with mecha(the big mechs fighting eachother mecha) is that I generally find mechs ugly and prefer situations where people are fighting purely on there own power instead of that of a giant robot. I think that might be a slightly pathetic reason though somehow.

Very different to what was described in here for the reason mecha gets hated, though.

No, that's actually pretty close to the reason why I was never a fan of it. I guess another part of the reason why I'm less inclined to mecha anime is because for some reason I always feel as though they will be boring (not that this is necessarily true of course).
Harems don't exist in America. If one guy is constantly surrounded by beautiful girls, then he's probably the gay friend.

this could have almost been an exception for me but they could have done so much more with the story -___-

Yes I think so,too. I was a bit disappointed because the anime was so short and had no "end"...
I read the manga of HOTD and love the drawings...and in the manga you can focus your attention on the real story and ignore the ecchi scenes in it.

And the OVA was just crap because it was pure fan service.

I hate ecchi and harem, but I didn't mind Girls Bravo when I first got into anime, I probably wouldn't like it now because it's been a few years since I last watched it and my tastes have changed drastically..

Can't say I'm all that interested in cars or racing, but Redline was amazing. I'm prepared to give anything with an interesting synopsis, character set or art style a chance though, although any sign of unnecessary fanservice will be a severe negative.

Highschool of the dead has its moments and when it focusses on the whole zombie apocalypse thing it does it spectacularly, although the OVA is pure drivel.

Ranma 1/2 Ecchi is almost always shit. except for this animu. Probably because it was made in the 90's and it's not all about tits.

In the past, I would only watch action shows or psychological thriller and nothing else.

Spice and Wolf opened a whole new doorway for me with the slow-paced, dialogue-based, light hearted, travelling and relationship development (romantic and business). The entire economics aspect of it all really sparked my interest too. Also, Holo owns half of my heart now. ^^

Bleach. I don't usually like the typical shounen action anime but i really enjoyed bleach. Maybe it helped that i skipped every single filler. I'm not against the genre itself, I just find that it lacks quality compared to others. There isn't really a genre that I hate yet.

I used to adore ecchi when I started watching anime just cos I wasn't used to it in cartoons, I've grown out of it now (especially the old incest theme) and I now hate it with a passion.
Saying that Yosuga no Sora is still one of my all time faves.
I think the story and the fact that the romance between the two siblings is very well done, which makes me actually want the two to get together, is what swings it for me.

I like thinking anime, but I don't like how messed up some of the psychological ones tend to be, but I ended up really liking Higurashi. Only a couple of scenes were uncomfortable to watch, and even after reading the tropes page it still kept me wondering what's real and what's not.

Karigurashi no Arrietty was a movie that i feel was aimed at younger audiences and definitely a story of fantasy

neither of those two things usually spark my interest but i gave this movie a 9

what else can you expect from studio ghibli ?

I normally dislike shounen because I've wasted so much time watching Inuyasha, Bleach and Naruto expecting there to be more of a plot, but here's the thing. I actually like the characters and universe in those animes it's just they never go anywhere because tehy are too busy having monsters of the week, fillers, and overly drawn out fights. I've enjoyed FMA (haven't watched brotherhood yet) and Inuyasha Kanketsu hen simply because with a limited amount of episodes theya re forced to move character and plot relationships forward. I'd actually watch more shounen if they had the sense to be of a regular length.

On the other side of the scale, there's one peice, which i've only watched the first 3 episodes of, but has been decently fun just because it doesn't take itself too seriously.
