Is there any anime you want to forget completely, so you can rewatch it and get that ''this is awsome'' feeling when you watch it?

I sooooo want to ''forget'' clannad & code geass, because whenever I rewatch cg or clannad it's less interesting because it's not the same as when I watched it for the first time.

Of course there are some titles..Dog Days,Kaze no Stigma,Fate/Stay Night and K-On just to name a few...

The beauty of forgetting an anime is that the feeling of excitement of rewatching as if you are watching it the first time..
Its 420 out there somewhere.

I believe that this will become the "Clannad" thread.

Not that I personally think so, because I don't. I haven't seen any anime that fits your description.

i've been in a debate with a friend of mine on something like this. the ending of School Days was spoiled for him, and he went on to tell me that he doesn't want to watch it until he forgets the ending. i retorted simply with the claim that the School Days ending isn't something you can just forget about. overall, putting forth an effort just to forget something just seems a bit counter-productive to me.

but anyways, if I had to forget one anime just to rewatch it again, I'd probably make it Higurashi.

I completed the Zero no Tsukaima series a long while back and it has sort of (not really, but enough) faded from my memory so I'm going to rewatch it and then watch season 4. So excited!!!

I often wonder if I would find Madoka Magica more interesting if I had been blind-sided by the shocker moments, instead of going in with the knowledge of it's true nature ahead of time. Would I be one of those people who saw the first two episodes and said it sucked, then saw the third and cried "BEST ANIME EVER!"? That show didn't even come onto the radar until after episode 6 had aired.

Madoka, I was talking to my friend about it BEFORE I started watching it and I asked her which episode she was at. She told me:
I was like BITCH FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU YOU JUST SPOILED THE BIGGEST THING EVER FUUUUUUUU.

Another one is Code Geass, since I saw the ending back when R2 aired. I wasn't into anime back then, but my friend (same friend who spoiled Madoka for me) was watching it and so I kinda just peeked over her shoulder. I saw
FML.

Also, Durarara!! Now, I didn't get spoiled for this. I read a fake spoiler concerning Shizuo, my favourite character, and I was apprehensively waiting till the VERY end, because the spoiler said that he

Lastly, Another (airing right now). I should have just completely stayed away from the MAL forums for this anime, because I freaking had a huge-ass spoiler slap me in the face. And it wasn't in a spoiler tag, here, let me explain it. So someone wrote his guess on who the dead person is, and some douchebag replied, "Oh my god, you're spoiling it!" So obviously, the douchebag indirectly spoiled the goddamned show. Ugh. So mad. Seriously. Ugggggh.

And I'd like to rewatch shows that I watched when it was airing. I think I prefer to watch anime (mainly thrilling ones) like back-to-back. For example, I might try rewatching Mirai Nikki a few months from now. Maybe Chihayafuru too, since I picked it up mid-season and it was way more enjoyable to watch it consecutively.

Wow. I ranted quite a bit here. Sorry, everyone :P

Most anything I rated 9 or 10, but especially Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. What an awesome day that was marathoning it from start to finish! Then again, I might not get the opportunity to do so a second time around either, it's not like I went into it trying to do that.

Also the DS game Ghost Trick

The only one I wouldn't want to forget is Legend of the Galactic Heroes, which I get the feeling might be better on subsequent watches when you know the characters names and overall plot better (I'd still want to forget pivotal moments though, ep 82 anyone?)

I sometimes think that it would be awesome to forget about EVERY anime I've seen and just start all over again. Then I would be amazed by every single show, like back in the day when i was still young and naive and consequently thought every anime was awesome. Good times.

Higurashi, all the way. It's my all-times favorite anime, and even if I want to rewatch it badly, I know it won't be even half as awesome as it was the first time n_n'. But it's the only one, I guess, as Madoka Magica was awesome to rewatch, and I'm pretty sure that Steins;Gate, Maria Holic and Ghost Hunt will be great as well.

I would like to forget One Piece.
I had seen DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, Bleach and Naruto before (in that order) and then I was gonna start on the ~400 episodes (at that time) episodes of One Piece.
I wasn't really impressed at the beginning, the characters looked weird and I thought about dropping after a few episodes, but luckily I didn't.
Well, the arc with crocodile already made it an awesome anime for me. After that there was Skypiea, CP9, Thriller Bark, Sabaody Archipelago, Marine Fort etc.

I didn't expect it, it just suddenly turned into my favorite anime and I quickly caught up to the moment where I had to wait a week for a new episode x(

I would like to forget those memories just so I could relive it again.
But well, for now I'll just patiently wait till the series has ended and then it's time for a 1000 episodes marathon =D

Yea. Fooly Cooly and Moribito: Gaurdian of the spirit

FLCL was just awesome in every way and wish i could watch it with the same 'WTF is this" everytime.

Moribito is just the complete package. Character development, EPIC Story, artwork, fight scenes that are down spot on. and the list goes on. Wish i could watch it again tomorrow and not know whats happening.

EDIT: infact you can add Eden of the East 2 that too. I love the story and artwork for it. and the main character is pretty funny, JOHNNY! haha

I would have given Meguka a much lower score if I knew all the twists beforehand. It's like reading a mystery novel or watching a thriller beforehand and knowing all the plot developments. Watching the Empire Strikes Back for the first time loses a lot of its impact if you know the big twist at the end.

AS FOR THE THREAD QUESTION, Mawaru Penguindrum. The ending made me cry bitch tears.

Yes but there's a different between an intriguing plot twist and killing off a seemingly important character just for the sake of shock value. I watched Higurashi after reading pretty much the entire tropes page and I was still intrigued. That was genuine mystery topped with a little mind screw, not twelve episodes of girls crying and suffering.

But aside from that, anything I watched already would be just as enjoyable the second time.

That's the only plot twist in Meduka that could be considered used for shock value though. Though I don't even see that considering it was foreshadowed for the entire episode that something horrible was going to happen to her.

Dude you're crazy lol... FLCL, out of all of the anime I've watched so far, easily has the highest rewatch value. It's short, ridiculously complex, and amazingly awesome. :3 I've watched it like 3-4 times through now I think, and I STILL take more out of the story every time I watch it.

So many...

Clannad: After Story
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Angel Beats!
AnoHana
Fullmetal Alchemist (but I guess that's what Brotherhood's for, right?)
Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu
Summer Wars
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo
Death Note
Durarara!!
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0
Code Geass R2
Ima, Soko ni Iru Boku
Hadashi no Gen
Yu Yu Hakusho (even though I've rewatched it so many times and love it just as much as I did the first, I'd forget and see it for the first time again any time ^^=)

So pretty much the ones that had the most emotional impact on me, like the tragedy or horror genres. There are quite a few shows that I loved that were comedies, but I wouldn't forget them to rewatch them. Shows like Ouran High School Host Club (seen over a dozen times), School Rumble, Baka to Test, and Shinryaku! Ika Musume have a high rewatch value for me and remain as good as they were the first time, if not better sometimes. The others don't have that same value because I'll never really feel what I did when I first saw them, no matter how much I want to.
