| There are way too many anime where the guy is protected by girl(s) and contributes nothing. It's not any one individual that pisses me off, but useless guys collectively. Sometimes they become useful in the end, but it takes one or more entire seasons for him to stop being a pussy. That's why there are no male characters in my favorites. I choose one character per show to list (best / most interesting / want to see more of / sometimes just because they're awesome) and there are always a better girls than the best guy. |

| I hate, resent, abhor and detest the human-shaped turd known as Touma Inaba from Sakura Diaries. Not just because of what he did in episode 5 - I'm proud to say I figured him out straight away, and usually I'm not very good with predictions. But this guy made me hate him immediately. He's far, far worse that Makoto... Sakura Diaries is a cheesy romantic comedy, and at first glance, Touma looks like a typical romcom male lead - clumsy, wussy, but generally good-natured and unassuming - "sure, he's kinda lame, but his heart is in the right place!" Only Touma is NOT good-natured or unassuming - he is a cowardly, spineless, annoying and arrogant wanker who thinks that he is hot shit, who thinks he is the "stud" |

| Ok, but Yukiteru didn't just start out as some regular or anti-social kid getting dragged into things that involved murder, gore, knowledge of the universe, crazy obsessed girl. He started out as a VERY anti-social kid, maybe the most anti-social and all the stuff I listed jumped him at the same time. Besides, he has some redeeming factors. Soldiers trained for war leave with trauma that last a life time, it's a bit different in Yukiteru's situation. |

| Genma Saotome comes to mind, he cowers in front of little ol' Happosai who is smaller than he is and he makes his son Ranma fight his battles for him. He also changes into his panda form to avoid confrontations. There's nothing more annoying than seeing a grown man act like a spineless jellyfish. |
