nice, hope they will announce season 3 soon LOL

2000? depends on the production cost, the result might vary but normally that's not good at all...

but well it's kinda sad that Chihayafuru is quite low compared to other titles

well I think it will do better than Age though LOL

Phi-Brain has twice lower pre-orders. And the thing that vol. 1 had ~1k sales so it's really going up even if it doesn't mean much.

phi-brain was produced by Sunrise so low sales might not hurt them that bad (they even announced 2nd Season for it) since they have another money machines like Gundam UC, Tiger & Bunny and the newest is Horizon

But Chihayafuru was produced by Madhouse (Haven't seen them doing well in term of sales lately) so idk, bankruptcy soon? =(

I wish. They waited too long, and Shana is already mostly dead as a franchise. Despite the third season just being mindblowingly good, way better than the first two (which were also good).

Dunno, imo the third season is just a nonsensical crap all the way. Can't say I loved the first two much, but they were at least of above average-to-good quality. But this one is just like, fight-fight-fight with incoherent story and almost no meaningful character interaction and development. But maybe it feels this way because it's been a long time since the previous season indeed. :/

Few surprises didn't expect shana sales to be that low but it has been 3 years since the second season could be expected. Ben-to, Kimi to Boku, and Chihayafuru aren't doing well as I thought they should be as well as Mirai Nikki especially.

Looks like one can expect a second season of Haganai on the way with these sales? :D~?

Yeah, there's no way 2.3k is making a profit. Chihayafuru is too nicely animated for that to be possible.

Really? Chihayafuru animation is really limited, so many stills.. Not saying that's bad considering the nature of the series, they don't need many animation for anime about karuta. the art(char design) is pretty tho (although the background very bland)

And art =/= animation.

I question if we're even watching the same show, because I find every one of these points to be utterly the opposite of what I'm seeing.

My problem is that it introduced all kinds of new characters without any kind of development (maybe it was better in the LN), and makes us supposed to care about them. I only watch the show for Shana, not all of these random characters, so its been a pretty disappointing third season to me.

It kinda breaks my heart that crap like Horizon and Symphogear sell, because it'll mean that they'll keep on producing crap like that, especially since those require far less thinking and planning. Well, some people are obviously enjoying it at least.

As long as they continue to produce some anime that at least seem like they made an honest attempt at telling a serious well-thoughtout plot than it should be fine. There's always novel/VN/manga adaptations.

But yeah, Mashiro-iro may not even chart on DVD and will do less than 2k BDs. It'll probably be lucky to be a 2k average series. Kind of a shame.

actually it did - 2,048
as stated here - http://www.mania.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=109291&page=26

nice to see Tamayura doing relativelly well, ok on a stable level
and it feels even nicer to support it with buying it - yet prices of sending are ughhh and grrrrr to say the least :D
