i usually use this player too but sometimes it doesn't work, so I also have the VLC player. As for the ongoing anime I mostly watch them on the web.

MPlayer. That's the only player that's able to play a 720p on my netbook. And it's great!

Media Player Classic is Master Race.

It seems that most of the tech challenged people out there prefer vlc though.

@Togop

Interesting.. Why would you need 720p for a netbook? Isn't 480p the same-looking?

Currently using potplayer 1.5.30857 beta
I like it's slim skin called abysmal which shows the title, time, controls without occupying too much space.

Either Windows Media Player or Real Player. Mostly Real Player though because of the nifty 'Download This Video' button.. really convenient!

I use Windows media Player for most things, if it has dual audio and 3 different kinds of subtitles then I'll use VLC

MPC (that comes with CCCP) as always. But when I'm using Linux, SMPlayer is my choice.

I usually watch the smallest resolution I find. Sometimes, for example when the fansub group hasn't released in 480p or the 480p release doesn't have seeders I can connect to, I have to watch the 720p version.

Windows Media Player for anything and everything. Witht the K-Lite Codec Package, it can pretty much play anything flawlessly.

I've recently switched to MPC from VLC under Coalgirl's recommended codecs and filters. I have to say, I'm very pleased. Playback is smoother and there's far less interruption and/or quality distortions.

QuickTime Player works most of the time but whenever I'm playing .mkv file on VLC, sometimes it backfires - slight blurriness and subtitles would disappear now and then throughout the episode.

I use VLC player. I love it's full screen, and I like how it allows you to put up to 200% volume for those downloads that have lower than average sound.

My laptop sucks. I've tried just about every video player. I used to use MPC for the longest.

1.)VLC and KM player plays normal speed, but with distorted colors, so I don't like it.

2.)MPC lags when the file gets heavy with action(OPs mainly)

3.)Other music players either won't play softsubbed MKV or they also have color distortion.

So I use Potplayer. Plays 720p softsubbed MKVs on my laptop like its nothing and when not on fullscreen, it has a handy file list on the side so you can just double click which file to play next if you don't want it to play the next vid or stop.

and i highly recommend these for anyone whos at trouble finding the perfect playback program

I used to use VLC, but it became kind of unstable and wouldnt read some of the codecs for 10bit videos
