Awesome music, gorgeous visuals, and a pretty good cast of characters. Maybe it's because I watched it at 4 in the morning, but it was a bit hard to follow at times. Other than that, pretty good. 7/10.

I was a little disappointed. They probably should have spent more time on the racing than the character introductions.

This movie blew my mind to shit. And it felt amazing. Plot was convoluted and weird, but my enjoyment was like 35 / 10.

I was conflicted....I thought this would be on 11 the whole time, but there were a few slower moments that bored me a bit. I do have to say that my brother and I had our minds blown in a few different scenes throughout. The visuals were amazing! The details, color, and sheen were just top notch. I didn't like some of the character designs, but that's to be expected with having so many types of life forms. Also, the story was convoluted and confusing, but I knew the REDLINE wouldn't let me down since that was the whole point of this thing.

I have to let my ignorance show to ask this question, but why aren't there more projects with this level of animation? I would assume it's because it's either time consuming, expensive, or both...can anyone enlighten me?

Jesus Christ I thought these types of anime had long since died away, I miss this kind of stuff to my core, it made me feel like a kid again. It was almost like watching anime again for the first time. Fucking loved it.

Until the adrenalin passes away, this movie will have 10/10 from me ;)

Not bad. Had to watch it over two days because I was tired when I first started watching it. (But I didn't end up going to sleep until like 2 hours later. Maybe the part I was at was actually just boring me.)
I know everyone loves this because of the animation, but animation alone is not a reason to love something, and I'm saying that as a guy who does put quite an emphasis on animation.
The music was was good. It was so close to perfection if there was a little more added to some of it.
I'm glad to see it was at least a little more fleshed out than Tailenders.
And boobies. Can't forget the boobies.

I was lucky enough to catch Redline at the cinema during its international festival run, so I have to say watching it now on a computer screen it lacks about 80% of the epicness it had on the big screen, but it is still light years ahead of anything esle in terms of pure entertainment. I don't think I'll ever get bored of this film. The ending, once again, left an absolutely huge smile on my face.

LOLed at that end title card but I was totally expecting it anyway.

I just went for the art and visuals, that was some animation there. The details of it all, figures it took 7 years to make, but man it was worth every frame! XD

Lol! A female racer named Mclaren. I guess only F1 fans will get that one.

I don't get all the amazement though. Awesome animation and soundtrack? Yeah ok that's always nice to have but a movie in the end has to tell a story no matter what that is. And i don't want any shit that this ain't about the story and shouldn't criticize it at that. If they simply wanted to show their cool animation, art style and music they might as well have called it a tech demo and not a movie.
The story was kind of below average and it's sad because it could have been a lot better.
In the end is kind of pity to give so much money on the technical department for something that has a below average storyline.

Anyway it had it's fun moments i guess but not much more than that. Unfortunately it failed showing a really interesting racing, it failed building any kind of decent plot and it failed building on the characters. I hoped at least they could have made some nice directed racing but they didn't give us even that.

In the end it just gets some points for style and crazy action events.

Wow. Just wow.

I would watch this thing even if it literally had no plot at all and would still think it was amazing.

Seriously, the visuals were simply out of this world. If anything then this movie just made anime standards go up a few levels (graphic wise that is).

My short comment. You can read similar ones on my anime list:

If there was a god of animation, this would be his top work. Holy joy of playful colors and face-tearing racing action. I give it only 9, because "oh there was a story in there AND characters too? Didn't notice them."

Felt like I've waited years to finally see this, and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's like they took Wacky Races, cranked it up to eleven, and distilled it through a retort powered by the kinetic energy of hundreds of insane animators.

An absolute tour de force of animation. The ending was crazy abrupt, but I don't mind much; the race was over -- why drag it any further than that?

How on earth is the plot 'nonexistent', were you actually watching the film? And to call the characters boring... cliche, maybe... but certainly not boring. Could you get a more colourful, well-rounded cast? Not the mention the sheer diversity in the design. It would seem the only flaw in this film is that the art style and animation has blinded some viewers to everything else.

To each his own. I found the plot to be completely underwhelming and a total mess (ok, so maybe nonexistent is not the right word here), while characters were one dimensional and bored the fuck out of me. but I still rate this film 10/10 because THE ANIMATION

To think that I expected a masterpiece. Turned out to be extremely mediocre. The animation is what most people just loved, but frankly I don't believe that "Great animation = Automatic 10/10". By the way, the ending was just too rushed. I'm not saying the movie was bad, but the hype over this is just ridiculous. 6/10 for me.

True. Art and animation was amazing, so my excitement after this movie was high. then I started to look at it critically, and it tries too hard. It has too many subplots, characters are under developed etc.

Not saying its bad, I really enjoyed it. but from a critical view I think Ill give it a 7/10.

Holy mother of God. It was like watching TTGL in an alternative universe with race cars. Fug I need to see the TTGL movie again.

It's exactly what I expected. Epic ridiculous proportions and ideas. The ending didn't come through tho. They did cram too much shit in one movie. What the hell happened to funky boy and that ...dude?
