Death is the destiny of mankind.

In a universe without consciousness, what is the most important thing in life?

Fame; an ever-lasting name.

Life is meaningless if you just live it. You have to make something out of it. Of course, happiness is important too, but I wouldn't be happy on my death bed knowing that no one would ever remember who I was or what I did.

Happiness ~

If you dont have happiness, you cannot live a proper life.

You cannot understand your fame , you cannot fap , you cannot think , you cannot prolong life etc etc. XD

I put "There's no value in life." It was the one closest to my opinion. Life only has value if you give it value. What you do with it while your alive makes it more valuble, or less for that matter. Life is what you make it, if you choose do sit in a dark room seperated from everyone, your life has no value, but if you go out there and do something it does. Think of it in a way WoW players can understand...xD...You start off with a lvl 1 human Warlok. Obviously it has no value, but over time, you lvl and gear it up. now your lvl 70 with teir 7 gear, this makes the value amazingly high. Or you can have a lvl 70 in all greens with little to no dps what so ever, this makes it not very valuable.

I can't really pick one, since a lot of those options are interdependent, but I think that knowing the truth behind the Universe would probably contain most of them indirectly. There are many incredible things all around us that are definitely worth a little of my time and effort to understand ^^

I know thats going to be somebody's whole post...

Sure, I chose fappin, but really the most important thing in life is to be happy. What's the point of life if you don't enjoy it?

Happiness, if your not happy with what you do you wont be able to achieve things to the best you can

Yer i don't exactly think that seriously about it but that seemed the best choice from the list and the only explanation i could think of ._.

How about we look at the question another way...

If you were on your deathbed, would you be satisfied that you placed _________ (i.e. happiness, enjoyment, love, truth, God, offspring, fappin') first your whole life?

As Sakinho said, a lot of the choices on the poll are dependent on other things. I believe that it is important for one to enjoy their life, as they will only get one; I believe it is actually possible for one to enjoy their life without any external forces, someone can be homeless and living in the streets, and still possibly enjoy their lives. I also think that it is very important to be happy in your life, happiness can sometimes be very dependent on external forces such as love and money. Some people feel the happiest when they know that they are loved by someone, and if something happens to the one they loved, or the person no longer loves them, it can be as if your happiness is suddenly taken from you. Some people believe that you can buy happiness with money, and some cases it is true; even though people can be happy without a lot of money, it is hard to be very happy if you have very little money as things such as food and shelter become scarse. However, there are people to whom money or love may mean little to them and are able to be happy without either.

To me, fame means absolutely nothing. I do not care if people remember my name after I'm gone, as long as I end up living my life to it's potential by the time of my death, that is all that matters. I personally do not care about prolonging my life longer than a normal lifespan, I never really have wanted to live all that much longer than 60 to be honest, though to me that may be a bit old (no offense intended to anyone, it is just what I feel). The advancement to mankind or producing offspring to continue a legacy is also not one of the things that I am concerned with as of now, no I am not saying I would not want to have kids sometime down the road, but it is not important to me since I am still fairly young. I am also not a religious person, so the devotion to God does not apply in my case. Yes, I know that there are some very religious people whom live their lives according to the Bible or whatever religion they follow.

I believe I have addressed every item on the poll except for 'there is no value in life' which I disagree with. As for my vote I think I will have to go with either happiness or love.

Indeed, but we only have a limited time to do so. Death is certain. Time, uncertain.

That's why you make the most of your life. Since you don't know when your going to die, just do it all. I mean, I myself find alot of the things I do rather simple and easy. School for instance, people makes bad or average grades because they take it for granted and think it's a waste of time. I "used" to make Cs because it was too easy and I didn't feel like doing it. Now I'm making all A's because I realized that even though it doesn't give me a challenge, it gives me more of a challenge then I have not doing it. Life it self has no value it start. It's what you do with it. Will you discover everything there is to know about everything? Who knows, you might acend to some higher being and be all knowing. The future is constantly changing and is uncertian. Just have to make the most with what you have and go out and do what ever.

To reach for the Truth behind the universe. If there is no truth beyond mere existence then there is no value to life, which is something I just don't want to accept. In case you're wondering, no I haven't found it yet (I consider myself to be agnostic.)

I see a lot of people chose happiness. While it's true that I wouldn't want to be unhappy, I think I get along just fine with simple contentment.

Gee, this kind of makes me sound like some kind of weird monk or something. Maybe I should go sit on a mountain somewhere :-)

I was on the border of happiness and enjoyment, which I think are very similar, but I guess they have their differences.

But other than that, I would love to be a legend. Having an everlasting name would be my greatest goal, but probably an impossible dream

Happiness and Enjoyment are really simialar. IMO this needed a "Find peace with oneself" (or something of the like) option. Would have done that.
/No vote.

I'm kind of suprprised there isn't a "Watch every single anime/read ever manga/speak/read fluent Japansese/live in Japan etc..." (basically complete otakuness" option.

In the poll I chose enjoyment, however my vote means "to bring enjoyment to others, not myself". Once you realise the meaning in your life I believe you should help others determine their meaning, for some people they will never have a meaning--or maybe just a misguided one--but as long as you can make them enjoy their life, whether long or short, the human race in general will benefit. How you go about this is up to you, my way is to advance mankind (My, my, isn't that also a poll option?), but for others they may choose to become famous and help provide a role-model for others, or become devoted to a religion to calm those in confusion.

The meaning of life is different for everyone, therefore the most important thing is life is also different.

Disclaimer: I am not religious in any way.

"To advance mankind." is the best.

Spontaneity with friends and Selflessness towards others advances mankind.
Scientific rigor advances mankind.
Competition for resources, overpopulation, and profit margins do NOT advance mankind.

Enjoyment, Happiness and Love is all part of Spontaneity and Selflessness. There is no God except for the beautiful warmth glowing in our hearts. There is no life after death except in the limitless creativity of our imagination. (There's nothing wrong with embracing that warmth and limitless creativity)

Happiness/enjoyment of life. If you don't have that then what's the point in being alive? Depressed people are pathetic.

What's the point of life if you don't enjoy it?
