Urobuchi Gen announced in his twitter that there is nothing to worry about the airing of the remaining two episodes of Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica. He said the quality of the episode 11 would be unsatisfactory if it were aired on March 17th. The work rooms of SHAFT have been messed up by the earthquake and they have spent significant period of time in cleaning up the rooms. The recent episodes of Madoka Magica have been completed a few hours before the airing time, so Urobuchi felt relieved to hear about the postponement.

That is one of the best decisions I've seen in a while. I would much rather wait and have better quality than for it to be released on schedule and be low quality.

Implying that the previous episodes' quality weren't really that great?
Let's see how this postponement will improve the quality of the last 2 episodes.

If this is true and they made such great episodes, than what can we expect from the last 2!?
I'm dying to see them.

Why would you ever expect quality from DEEN?

It isn't quality I'm looking for, I just want a straight up explanation on why it's postponed, it seems everyone else has given their reasons for doing so.

A few hours before airing? Holy shit. Way to cut it clean.
But seeing previous Shaft shows and their unanimated themes for the first few episodes, I get ya.

Episode ten is actually one of my favorite episodes so far, I'm surprised they were able to do so well despite being rushed. I'm excited to see what they will do with the final two episodes with extra time to work on them if they were only barely scraping by on time.(It's also a relief that the last two episodes are even airing).
Looking at posts on the Internet wouldn't bother me so much if people didn't also mix up he and she.

I am impressed, if it makes it better I guess I can wait another week, but dang it the wait for this show is driving me nuts.

I just realized there is no way to say I am waiting for this show without sounding like I don't care about the earthquake and tsunami.

Nice to see that there are some positive notes to come from the postponement and, dare I say it, the earthquake that caused it, even though it would be better for everyone if the earthquake never happened.

Also, the episodes were completed only a few hours before airing? As coobie would say, taking into account the high workload and low pay of the job, being SHAFT animator is suffering...

Well, if the earthquacke never happed, we would have the same quality we had in the last weeks. Only this.
But I feel reassured by the news that won't be canceled. (Sankaku trolls again. lol)

I feel sorry about Japan problems, but I'm looking for the next week.
Hold on, Japan.

ANN version:

Madoka Magica series script supervisor Gen Urobuchi apologized to everyone waiting to see the anime, but said that he is relieved for the delay. He explained that the anime studio SHAFT would work to the last minute on every episode — just hours before the first airing of each episode on Thursday evening (early Friday morning) in the Kanasai area on MBS. The creation of drawings for episodes 11 and 12 has been difficult, and Urobuchi thinks that airing episode 11 in the form that it is now would be "disappointing." Urobuchi and producer Atsuhiro Iwakami agree that the extra time will allow the staff to do their best.

Madoka is bound for success. ^^

and episode 10 is rushed!? it's already EPIC, i wonder what would it look like if it was perfected. It already has great animation and flawless directing, if they managed to have more free time time with it, i guess you could just call it GODLY.

anyways, i'm excited for the rest of the episodes and i'll patiently wait just like what i did with the last 3 episodes of Bakemonogatari as long as i get the final episodes Urobuchi Gen wants us to. ^^

and i pray for Japan's fast recovery.

Shaft having issues with time-management is noting new. With Dance in the Vampirebund they threw in a recap ep because the new ep wasn't ready on time.
I think Madoka's animation overall is good though.
And I'm looking forward to the DVD/BD's. For Bakemonogatari they completely reworked scenes.

If he's talking about Being Meguca then Hell Yeah. Some good is coming out of that earthquake.

If raising the quality means killing Madoka in even more creative ways and sending Homura back in time once more then we're all going to Japan to toss him into the nuclear reactor

Is he implying that episode 10 was rushed?
It was the single best episode of anime I have ever watched. My jaw was open the entire episode. I've also heard of other people's jaw not functioning during the episode.
If the next episode is not rushed...
There I said it...

Disappointed that no Madoka this week, but certainly understandable.

hopefully the next 2 episodes wont mess up what a great series so far. if they suck or dont live up to the expectation, you can actually just pretend episode 10 is the series finale. it basically sums up what the series is about; homura continuously trying to save her friends. that's kyubey's biggest mistake, or whoever gave homura the power to go back in time.

I'm OK with this, but only if the series is recreated in a few years as a series of redesigned, sequential and super shiny quality films.

Yup that's right. I have yet to re-watch it but I got hold of reading the articles about it. On the funny note some scenes because of their work made things ecchier, which Nadeko in eg. fans liked.

On the con side of arguments I cannot deny your fact that originals may be better than modified, however not in Madoka's case of episode 10, so I don't agree with you on that plan but in regards to Dance in the Vampire bund, I sometimes wonder whether I should be sexually excited or just plain feel miserable towards scenes like Akira being all bloody on Mina while she is naked. Opinions in regards to that?
