I love those 2 guys. Itachi and Nagato are beyond good.

Itachi shined in all his glory this episode, proving yet again that it's possible to write great characters with emotional backstory without making them emo or cliche.
Nagato on the other hand, well, I think his powers speak for itself. Not to mention those 2 episodes with his backstory.

Great characters, great fight incoming I guess.

Amazing episode, I appreciated Itachi alot more when he was in his Edo Tensai form. Love seeing Nagato's range of abilities too.

Great flashbacks of Shisui too, RIP Shisui :(

Itachi: Plans ahead for outcomes he wasn't even aware were going to happen!

Okay, so that's a little creative with his actual thinking but funny all the same! Nagato got his youth bacjk and can start slinging some serious jutsu around now, but with Naruto, Bee and Nagato working together, surely they can do sme insanely powerful shit!

Oh snap, the ultimate tag team battle begins@

Damn, Itachi is such a genius tbh. He used that special genjutsu and countered Kabato like the Uchiha boss that he is. Looking forward to next week's fight. 3 on 1 might seem unfair but I think Nagato is pretty tough himself.

Easily one of the better episodes of the war arc. They added a good amount to the fights and the explanation was well done. Looking forward to the three taking on Nagato next time.

I am confused after seeing this, did sasuke take Itachis eyes or not?

As far as I can remember Sasuke took itachis eyes after their battle and gained amateratsu, susano etc. He even said to madara while his eyes were bandaged up that he could feel itachis visual powers making him stronger.Itachi's eye was also set to activate when seeing madaras face under the mask. But in this episode Itachi still has his mangekyo and says that they weren't actually taken as the crow only activates to his eyes and that his plan didn't go as he wanted.

Am I just plain dumb and missing something major or is this a loophole?

(i always find it funny so many people get confused about Itachi in this part, and not Deidara. Itachi didn't have his eyes, Deidara didn't even have a body.lol)

but to explain , Edo tensei reincarnates the soul of the target into another body altogether, and they come back in their prime with all bloodline limits and everything. the Itachi you're seeing isn't actually Itachi's body at all. it's some random person that was used as sacrifice.

the crow activated because ET is a perfect copy of the person. it's Itachi's eyes...even though it's technically not...so the crow reacted. (it'd have reacted to Sasuke too)

This episode is overflowing with power! XD The episode's action was probably one of the highlights of the war, and the little revelations help move the overall plot especially Itachi's intentions. The loss of Shisui's eye was unfortunate but I guess Naruto will have to deal with Sasuke by himself in the future as (I think) everyone expected then and now. The only thing I didn't like was the art and animation, it could have been better on such awesome fights! Ah what the heck, I'll just suck it up and take what I can then move on. XD

Well in the edo-tensei sense yes. Nothing has changed except that Itachi-san no longer takes either mental or physical commands from Kabuto's technique anymore.

Wait I didn't get Itachi's plan. I'm going to have to watch the episode a few more times. But to be clear on stuff. So Itachi's plan was to put his eye in a crow and put it in Naruto, so when Sasuke uses Mangeyko Sharigan (can't spell it right sorry) it will activate Itachi's Jetsu and bring the crow out to disable Sasuke's Amaterasu?

Close.. it's not Itachi's jutsu... it's Shisui's jutsu.

Shisui gave Itachi his remaining eye (the other stolen by Danzo). Itachi put Shisui's eye into the crow... gave the crow to Naruto.. so when Sasuke used his Mangekyo Sharingan, the crow would activate and cast the genjutsu on Sasuke.

However, that plan went out the window since Kabuto revived him with Edo Tensei.. so Itachi used Shisui's genjutsu on himself to break free from Edo Tensei.

Uchiha Shisui's ability allows him to give a command like genjutsu to anyone, which they have to follow through with, itachi inscribed the command 'protect konoha' into shisui's eye with his own mangekyou being the key to activating it. If sasuke, who now has itachi's eyes had used the mangekyou on naruto, the jutsu would activate and sasuke would receive the command to 'protect konoha' thus ending his lust for revenge. It helps if you've watched a show like code geass for easier interpretation.

jesus. This episode deserved better quality. Wtf. Im seriously angry. Itachi revealing so many stuff, doing some crazy tricks to turn around the situation and fart into Kabutos face, ALL THE FEELING ALL THOSE VIBES.... and then that flashback that reminded me that even when i thought the graphic started to look bad it was still one billion times better than now. I dont even know how to explain it, but the characters are just way off from what I was used to. Its like some totally untalented dude is working on animating them, some dude that cant copy Kishimotos characters properly.

Well, I can't remember when was the last naruto episode that was as good as this one. 5/5
Before we got Itachi back I didn't even realize that I missed him so much. He is just great. I wasn't surprised by the fact Itachi planned to stop Sasuke with that raven that he had put inside Naruto, but the fact that he used Shisui's eye and that it worked on himself rather than on Sasuke truly surprised me. So it appears Itachi wasn't actually a cold-blooded murderer of Shisui, he didn't betray his friend for mangekyo as we were told before.
Besides all the story development, useful flashbacks (how unusual for Naruto.. although they still managed to put some excessive flashback about how Itachi put a raven in Naruto) this episode had great action. I really enjoyed it.

This week's episode was simply amazing. The best since the war began.

But there's one thing that i don't understand. In the past episodes, Sasuke has a conversation with Madara, and he ask for Itachi 's eyes. Madara says that's ok, and Sasuke, at this part of the story, its supossed to be recuperating from the operation to acquire Itachi's eyes.

If we know that... How can Itachi appear with his eyes and his mangekyo sharingan?.

I don't know if im right, but i tought that edo tensei revives the shinobi with his body, and links his soul, that is in the other life, to it. For that reason it's necessary the body of the person that you want to revive before doing the edo tensei jutsu.

Do you remember that in a very few episodes (that were a filler) it's said that a cementery has been profaned and some corpses are missing? And it was Kabuto the person that was behind this attack.

Can someone explain me this in a easy way?

Thank you very much, and forgive my english, but it's not my language and i can't use it very well.

Greetings!

The Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation (口寄せ・穢土転生, Kuchiyose: Edo Tensei) is a forbidden technique where, using a living person as a vessel, a deceased person's soul can be called back to the world of the living and bound to it. The vessel will then take on the form that person had in life, thereby reincarnating them to do their summoner's bidding.

To perform this technique, the user must first acquire some of the DNA of the person they intend to reincarnate. Kabuto remarks that this basically amounts to grave-robbing, although blood stains or organs salvaged after the target's death also work. The soul of the intended reincarnated must also reside in the pure world (浄土, jōdo); for example, those whose soul has been consumed by the Death God cannot be reincarnated.

Next, a living sacrifice is required for the soul of the reincarnated to use as a vessel. Once all prerequisites for the technique have been met, the acquired DNA of the person is smeared on a special scroll and once the scroll is activated, the remains spread out in the form of a special seal with the living sacrifice in the centre. Then dust and ash encase the sacrifice's body, giving them the same appearance that the reincarnated had at the time of their death.

When first summoned, the body of the reincarnated is stored in a coffin; their body will appear grey and in a state of minor "decay": marred by cracks and other imperfections, and the individual will also appear to be "disengaged". Upon awakening they retain their personality, memories, and all abilities they had in life, including kekkei genkai, kekkei tōta and summoning contracts. Although clothing is also retained by the reincarnated shinobi, weaponry on the other hand is not and must be procured by the user when necessary, as seen when two members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist were unable to retrieve their weapons from a scroll upon reincarnation, as they were currently in the possession of others. However, once obtained, shinobi that have stored their weapons in or about their person are still able to re-summon their tools, regardless of the number of times they are stored within their respective coffin. As a downside, the reincarnated seem to retain any permanent body damage and physical limitations they received during their lifetime. The summoned all have grey sclerae and retain their original eye colours, however, the entire eye is darkened. When Kabuto takes complete control of them however, they gain black sclerae and white irides. The appearance of a reincarnated dōjutsu wielder's eye doesn't change at all. The summoned can be recalled at will by the user, causing an empty coffin to emerge and reclaim the individual, and the summoner can also use reincarnated individuals to remotely summon coffins containing additional reinforcements.

Also, don't use fillers as base for any theories you have, they are not Kishimoto's work.

Awesome episode!

One of the big revelations that I'm thinking about is the fact that Shisui is, in fact, still alive; even though he's lost both of his eyes. I'd love to see him appear on stage - we know so little about him.

Actually, it wasn't revealed that he is still alive, just that he went missing. However seeing as how his body was found by the Uchiha, it is most likely that he is dead.

Also, was it just me or was the artwork a bit off at times this episode?

Come to think of it, Nagato should've only had one of his eyes if Madara took one of his Rinnegan to use for himself.
But I'm glad to finally see the use of his power as Nagato himself and his own personal skills, we already knew he was powerful, but by getting his youth back we should really see an epic fight scene coming up, or I sure hope so!

Pretty good episode. I've been waiting for this episode for a while. Itachi had planned to use the crow as a fail-safe in case Sasuke ever tried to attack the leaf, specifically if he had Itachi's eyes.

They added a bit more content then what was in the anime.. however the animation quality was terrible. Don't get me wrong it was an awesome episode and I loved how they showed the fighting and Samehada being useful, but why have the episodes been bad recently?

Great episode, one of the best in months that I have seen.

Since Itachi has now broken the control that Kabuto had on him, does this mean that perhaps they (Naruto and Itachi) can reason with Sasuke to come back to Konoha?
