Yay, finally some development. Nami kicked some serious ass in this episode. Naturally, the CP9 person should have just poked her full of holes, but oh well, good guys have gotta win, right?
FINALLY Zoro is free too. I can't wait for his ass kicking-ness. :)
Luffy's fight with gear 2/3 seems to be coming close too. Next few episode are gonna be awesome (assuming they don't go to fillers).
This has to be one of my favorite episodes. Nami has some major development here.
She is finally on equal terms with the rest of the straw hats. Ive never seen her fight like this before, she has such awesome abilities and she is a serous threat now. When you look at how she used to be back in arabatsa, she has really changed since then and grown alot stronger. I would say she could probably best usopp and maybe even sanji lol. She used to be like the weakest member on the team.
Not my kinda a fight but nonetheless nami won! :) it looks like it was a bit easier this time for nami.. compared to her fight in the crocodile arc.. and i feel really sorry for chopper :-( hope he's okay

It was shown numerous times that Sanji could have kicked Califa's ass if he didn't have his damn chivalry, so no..I don't think Nami is anywhere near his level. Besides, it's been pretty much established by now that he is at least near the level of Zoro. I just hate how they always seem to immobilize him in some fashion each and every arc, including this one.
Oh yeah, and Franky has really grown on me recently. I remember first seeing him, and his choice of clothes, and thinking "really!?"
"Yes, I have been deprived of emotion. But not completely. Whoever did it, botched the job."
i gave up on nami ever being useful combat-wise so this was a nice surprise! the change from her last battle in arabasta is amazing. she's intelligent about it and her attacks are sure as well as powerful. there's a lot of versatility to the weapon as well, which catches opponents off guard. another thing about nami is that her personality being bossy and conniving translates into determined and perceptive; she's not the irritating type of girl who gets knocked around and then cries on her knees for an hour. so yeah, imo she's become stronger than usopp, but who knows what new weapons he might bring out with the dials?
cp9 is going down, somehow everyone is able to go against them..
Behold of my awesomeness~
controversial and/or sensitive topics likely devolve into the same repetitive, derogatory, abusive, and harassing comments can no longer be posted.
But my feels.
pretty narrow minded of some of you to be focusing on how stupid they made kalifa instead of focusing on nami's development as a character.
kalifa was just as strong, but it was her confidence and lack of knowledge in her devil's fruit that brought her downfall. she relied too much on it instead of her roku-blahblahblah.
additionally, she was thrown off guard by the tricks that nami kept throwing at her. ((pretty sure y'all would be too yenno))
either way, the fight was great. nami has gotten stronger and we get to really see her genius tactition skills really come to use here. she earns a lot of respect in my book!

Not trying to bash Nami because it's clear she's gotten better as a fighter but her victory here is less due to skill and more due to the amazing weapon Usopp made for her and Kalifa being a total fool.
Yep, Nami was awesome this episode. Zoro is finally free, the wolf and the giraffe really screwed up, but they're not as screwed as their going to be in a minute when Zoro can finally get serious.
I'm really starting to like Franky and I hope he manages to save Chopper without too many obstacles.
Uh, does no one care that Sanji may have been crushed by that huge bathtub or squished by a rampaging Chopper? Nami noticed it before but she seems to have completely forgotten.

Hurray!!!!

Noooooo... Don't get me wrong her fight was ingenious but due to her intelligence, to the super weapon Usopp made and to pure luck for having a soap woman as an opponent not cause of strength or anything. She is very useful and she can be a real badass during fights but she is not even close to Sanji's power.

Loved it too XD
Knave said: They completely ruined all of CP9 characters. They were so promising at the beginning, but now they are laughable. So stupid.
I don't think they made them look stupid. I mean Blueno or what his name was, was defeated by a much stronger than before Luffy. The samourai guy was defeated by a Hulk-Chopper. The Chapapa guy wasn't extremely strong to begin with and was defeated by Franky who was powerful and already close to defeat the CP9 agents (not all of them together but he did hurt Blueno-Bruno-I seriously-don't-remember-his-name at Water7). And Kalifa took a risk and based her whole fight to her new devil fruit's ability which she hadn't practised at all.
I would've guessed that Franky or Nami would somehow slap that extra pair of Kairouseki handcuffs that Zoro/Ussop found on Chopper. Not tackle him into the ocean!
And I disagree with the above users. Nami isn't stronger than Usopp. She's just more underestimated, which makes her battles easier. Also, it's just her clima tact. [b] Which Usopp invented[b]. Clearly that means that if Usopp also had one, he'd be even better with it than her. He already full knows how it works.

Nami kicked major ass but if Sanji wasn't so uselesss he could have haven ended all this trouble easily by kicking soap ladies ass and giving Zoro the key in a matter of minutes.
His chivarly is moronic.Just like his constant drooling over every female.
This was really an excellent episode. I feel like every darn episode has a new set piece or amazing moment to remember, it's quite awesome. If not anything else, this arc certainly has the best moments and most dynamic and varied flow out of anything One Piece yet.
It just hit me that the bath totally got Sanji soaked and mobile again and therefore he will come in clutch and save the day since he hasn't had enough going on this arc, and he is always the clutch trump card of the arcs.
Nami's fight was so awesome. So was Franky's. So was Luffy's with Blueno. So was Choppers. This arc has to have the best fights. She's gotten so much stronger and confident in her fighting ability. Sure, she's still the type to avoid confrontation but when he must act she's gotten better at it. You could see so much confidence in her attitude this battle, it's like as soon as she got that clutch rain cloud she knew she was going to win. And she really mangled Khalifa. She was burnt to a crisp with smoke leaving her mouth, that's brutal. She did it with her confidence, intelligence, new found fighting abilities and resolve, and some good trickery by distracting her as the cloud formed.
In this way, it reminded me of Uraraka's fight with Bakugo!
This fight showed the best of Nami personality wise, how strong she's gotten, and really shook up the formula with so many characters being at play in it! Seriously, it's hard to pick a favorite fight... Especially now since Zoro and Usopp can get a fight uncuffed...
"It's not a prediction, it's a forecast" had me screaming full of hype. Nami may be my favorite female character and if not she's certainly in my top 2.
Last thing regarding that fight, I think it was totally fine and I don't think they ruined any CP9 member who wasn't already annoying. Blueno was intelligent, had my favorite power in the entire anime, and used these together to find Luffy and fight against his power specifically. It was awesome and culminated with one of my favorite ends of a fight, Blueno passing out standing without even realizing he lost. Fukurou was always annoying, as was Kumadori honestly, but the scale and intensity of their fights salvaged them for me. For Franky it showed his maniacal ability to gamble his fights in life or death situations and use trickery to get his way, almost as if he was willingly inviting his own death and it came paired with that amazing slugfest. For Chopper it showed us how brave he really was, and how he was willing to die for his friends, to gamble the 1/8 chance to get a win, and how he was able to willingly throw away his life by losing control of himself in a chilling scene that let us understand zoan type powers and rumble balls more. Khalifa was weakened due to her arrogance and lack of understanding of her devil fruit power as I mentioned last episode and she was great as a character. Kaku and Jabra are both hilarious and lovable and their weakness comes from a Zoro and Sanji-esque rivalry, if they're ruined so should Sanji and Zoro. The reason the comment about them being ruined bothered me was because I had the opposite thought this episode, this is the best team of villains One Piece has ever seen.
Last last thing about the fight, I'm pretty sure lightening is faster than the shave power they use and she couldn't actually dodge out of the way. Even if she could she was clearly shocked and hesitated before it came out. Soap sheep also takes awhile to work. I think it was totally justified and AWESOME how she got taken out.
Remember how I complained about the awful Lucci vs Luffy animation last episode? Well, it was actually so great here. My gosh.
It's actually one of the juiciest beatings we've seen so far by my standards! That looks so good. It seems Luffy's goal isn't to second or third gear and win right now, but instead get an opening to get to Robin ASAP.
Franky saying they only had one solution to the Chopper problem was awesome. I first thought either, cuffs or pushing him into the sea.. But I knew cuffs wouldn't fit on him. And Franky did option 2, but only when first giving
Dragon Ball Roshi vibes like when they thought he was going to kill Goku but he blew up the moon instead.
Zoro's free and immediately as scary as ever. O_O
"You'd better stop laughing and start regretting. Never again will you get a chance like earlier to slay me.. world government!"
I really loved how he was the one to notice how hard Chopper fought. :) If no one else would realize how hurt Choppy was it would be Zoro, the hardest fighter of them all. He's able to recognize what someones put themselves through.
The past episode's recap went on for too long but I'm really impressed at Nami for beating Kalifa all by herself and with such a clever way too!
Franky helping them out by non-fatally subduing Chopper was pretty cool too. Chopper would've put himself out of commission for a very long time if they didn't stop him after all.
Zoro and Sogeking's finally free from their shackles and their fight can finally get serious!
Finally, Nami get's to shine since the alabasta and skypia arc !
Robin decides to make a run for it, to buy some time,
and Zoro's about to murder those cp9 guys...this whole arc is a masterpiece !
Nami es buena peleadora sin necesidad de una fruta del diablo. Vencio a Kalifa y, Usopp y Zoro están libres. Ahora es tiempo de deshacerse de la jirafa y el lobo tambien.
Kalifa vs Nami was a well thought out fight, in most other cases it’d be disappointing to see a member of CP9 go down after just a few attacks even if she was the weakest. Nami weaponised electric while Kalifa’s main defence was her iron body; iron is a conductor so in this case it makes sense that Nami’s attacks broke through her defence. Not the best fight but enjoyed in nonetheless.
It was great seeing Nami fight Kalifa with such confidence and conviction. I was cheering her on so much this episode. She’s come such a long way since the earlier arcs.
And wow, Robin finally ran away from Spandam. I can’t wait for him to finally get his just deserts. I would very much like to see Franky do that strong hammer attack on him xD
it was ok ,Nami's fight that is .She employed some unique shenanigans but overall i would still prefer her duel with Miss Dopplefinger. The reason being there was a suspension of disbelief for the later .It has already been ascertained Miss Assistant san could utilise Geppo and Rankaku at will and take out hordes of shipwrighters without catching an eye if she wanted .This fight had her standing still like a goof literally and mentally. The writing had to hinge everything on the singular aspect on her lazy handling of her new borne powers.
Anyway wish Chopper had engaged with the giraffe before being blown away
ole girl just went and assumed the normal looking Nami was the real one!
animation seems to get better and better boy this is why i started watchin this anime again can't wait to continue watching it progress to the meaty stuff later
