After the abomination that was the last arc, this is fantastic. Great animation, great humour and great tension. Love it.

I agree this arc is way better than the last one.

So far, I like the 2nd arc better than this one. But this 3rd arc beats out that bad 1st arc.

Anyone noticed that the animation was weird around 4.55 - 5.00? This arc is pretty cool and so is Kusuriuri. I've got the feeling that I'm watching frescos, which is awesome.

Kusuriuri/Medicine Seller!!! <3333 :) YES. Mononoke is why I watched this show. The Animation is 'story book awesome' and the plot is HEADS above the other 2 arcs.

Brilliant so far!!

What a very colorful episode! The animation was already great with that creased paper look for texture but the details of art on the walls and sliding doors blew me away, absolutely loved them!

That was quite good! Even more so compared to the previous arcs.

Holy shit, this totally blew me away. The Medicine Seller just oozes "cool" from his very pores and the atmosphere and animation/art was top notch. Loved it.

I cant express in words the great feeling this episode transmits! Its already looking as the most mysterious and entertaining story so far.

Oh and if watched with headphones it sounds incredible!

I'm truly impressed. I already expected great things to come due to the praise this arc has got but this exceeded my expectations by far. The animation style looks very unique and in general the visuals are great to look at.

Kudos to the director, even with the comical moments (which are incredibly amusing btw) the atmosphere is overwhelming creating an engrossing sense of danger.

Finally, the Bakeneko arc. I took a break from watching Mononoke to go through this show just for this and it did not disappoint. Great visuals, interesting story, and I feel like this episode had more humor than any episode of Mononoke that I have seen thus far. Also, the Medicine Seller is as cool as always - looking forward to what comes next.

This arc caught my attention, the setting is more interesting. The art style is very unique as well. Unlike the first arc, this ones art style looks even more traditional! The movement is also smooth at certain times.

Watched Mononoke before Ayakashi so I'm really liking this arc so far :) I only wish the previous arcs of this anime would've had storeytelling as good as this one, the flow is just so much better so far. Also don't get me started on how much I love this art style.

Hmm very interesting new arc. The last one was just a damn shame. Hopefully this one ends better. I gotta say the sounds this arc has with that slow mo makes this extremely spooky.

Holy shit, I'm definitely watching Mononoke after this. Fucking awesome!
If the quality remains the same there, I can see a new addition to my favorite anime list! Awesome characters, art, directing, atmosphereXXXXX

It looks like they were saving up the animation budget for their final arc, and boy did it look good~
After going through some iffy lookin' stories which I liked in the end anyway, I couldn't get used to such an improvement plus my sleep cycle's acting out. I can't wait ta continue this tomorrow since it was the arc the more successful spin-off was based on. They're finally giving off that Japanese Classic Horror vibe~

Kayo is so cute ♡ and the way the Medicine Seller deploys seals all over the place was badass.

Wow, excellent! This story was exciting straight from the beginning with a tight plot, excellent art, and great sound too. Very excited to see how this moves forward - what will that sword be?

Facsinating, this is more like a “horror” story comaped to the two previous stories, and it's setting up to be very intruiguing. I really like how the fast-paced scenes were animated with the crazy camera movement, and with the unique art style that looks like an old abstract Japanese painting suits it really well as it compliments the Japanese aesthetic the most and adds extra context to the plot.
I still don't know where this is setting up to, but I'm really interested in more, it doesn't look like it's going to be heavy on emotion, as it focuses on the medicine seller more than anybody else, but it's okay, again, I might just be wrong.

it's been a loong time since I've watched Mononoke, pleased to see Kayo and Medicine Seller again! *_*

That possessed servant really had rat-like teeth

I liked that small talk of Kusuriuri with Kayo about his medicines, and Kayo's reactions. Those turtles with growing heads represented something to boost seual desire, and when they started talking about Mao's groom, the turtles turned upside down and their heads shrinkled, suggetsing that Mao's groom was impotent, but wealthy at least...

It's amazing how this one episode is miles better than the previous 8 combined. The art style, the writing and the direction puts this light years ahead of what came before. This is literally the only one that actually lives upto the Japanese Classic Horror theme. Let's hope the next two episodes are just as good.

rewatched it cause the first time I was half asleep and I didn't get too much out of it lol but I don't think this one is as engaging as the bakeneko from mononoke
But this opening >>>>>>>. The song already is so cool but the visuals just make it better, it's the best op out of the series BY FAR (including mononoke)

I now understand why they made a sequel of this arc. The animation is unique, it's a lot of fun to watch.
