Finally Goemon was introduced :)
And of course he was badass as ever. Good episode.
I probably regret this post by now.

Wonderful episode. Very nice animation & art (given the show's obviously low budget), fun character interaction, a story that's both badass and funny. Pretty much summarizes what I love about Lupin III.

Goemon is a really badass character, cutting bullets, reflecting rocket fuel, etc.
When Fujiko first appeared I thought to myself: "She's going to reveal him isn't she?". She really likes betrayals but the way she behaves with Lupin really makes her a likeable character, loved how Goemon was convinced she was his girlfriend.

This episode makes the hilarious mistake of having Jigen's gun fire the entire cartridge instead of just the bullet as there are many whole specimens lying at Goemon's feet after he blocks them with his sword.

I laughed pretty hard when I noticed that. How can so many people miss that fact. Maybe the manga did that and they decided to keep it in the anime as well? No idea. Can't wait for Goemon and Lupin to go at it again.

Pretty good episode, I was wondering when we were gonna see Goemon, That whole no casualties thing made me laugh though, I thought only american shows only did that.

It's nice to see that Lupin has a new and completely different enemy in Goemon. But despite all of Goemon's skill he is easily taken down by Lupin's trickery.

Although I think that Lupin is clearly skilled a thief, marksman - although clearly not at Jigen's level - escape artist, ect, I wouldn't have thought of him as being one of the two top assassin's - Goemon being the other. But I suppose there are many ways to kill, not just through using a particular weapon, and Lupin's ability to think on his feet works for him. Plus, the fact that he didn't hesitate, like Goemon did when facing his Master.

I know Fujiko is clearly okay but how exactly did she escape?

Goemon is the man but my lovely Fujiko... I love her but she plays around WAY too much. I don't want to think of her banging all these different guys.

YYEEESSS! This is exactly what I've been waiting for! This is the Lupin Sansei I was expecting! I just love how Lupin and Jigen are so laidback. Those niggas be bros for LYF. Can't wait until Goemon joins them later on.

EI
Come on, knock it off.
It was easy enough to see that this anime had bad animation from the first ep, so a few missing bullets on the ground wouldn't be a problem as they've been pretty consistent so far.

No they mean he fired the *whole* bullet; the shell is not supposed to come out the barrel of the gun once fired :P

I'm not an expert at firearms, but I don't think that's how bullets work xD

Lupin and Goemon met for the first time as enemies, with Goemon trying to kill Lupin, and with Lupin trying to set Goemon on fire. Certainly a meeting hard to forget. lol Goemon is cool from the start though, I love that bullets don't work on him. And Fujiko looked great wearing a kimono too.

Damn, Goemon truly is a powerful swordsman, it's scary how he's able to cut bullets like that.

Heck yeah! Goemon appears. Now you have another one to watch out, Lupin
lol reflecting rocket fuel with a spinning blade and Momochi escaping in a balloon.

lmao @ the prevalence of anime physics especially when lupin and goemon set off that huge ass car crash during their final fight this episode; i definitely don't think that red car was supposed to break the laws of physics by experiencing pure inertia without gravity and spin on its side like that for that long, but it's fucking hilarious anyways i love it

Lupin and Goemon, they have to teach the characters of today's anime, mythical! An episode that sees the opening of the long parenthesis of hatred and respect between the two, no complaints for a narrative that offers twists and turns and action galore. I was surprised to see how in the distant year 1971, there was talk of xenophilia in distant Japan, the homeland of a strong chauvinism still today, at least as far as I know it.

Sp did that old man die, or is this just another show where nobody dies in it? I'm starting to see why the original manga is not really loved in Japan, failing to reach the Top 100 on TV Asahi's Manga Sōsenkyo 2021 poll where 150k people voted for their favourite manga.
