Yikes, a major misunderstanding in the season finale.

However, I find the season finale dramatic but also fun and serves a celebration of the series as a whole with those fireworks. Truly a beautiful sight for the school and students. Sae and Kouki went through a lot this season so they wanted to give them more special moments in the finale. So many smiles, joy, and excitement. Not the best shoujo I've seen but an enjoyable one imo.

Sae wishing Koki all the best for his potential relationship, when the truth is the exact opposite, as he would come to find from the bawling girl that she has been in love with him all this time since their young days, and Koki feels the exact same as her Star that shines Brighter than the Sun. But this notion took years for them to realize that they have been admiring each other from the start, and even worse, both Mio and Hisui thinking that their best gal friend had been had, but all's well that ends well if Koki was led to her eventually.

The after-festival party with the fireworks is still the main attraction, as is the rumoured legend, and both Mio and Hisui being happy to see their best friend together with Koki, as is everyone witnessing the relationship blossom between the two as their own stars and suns each. Furthermore, it's Koki who put in all of his hard work to be able to keep up with Sae wherever she goes, culminating in him finally confess his true feelings to her when the time is right. These two have always been made for each other, it's just the matter of when.

A classic Shoujo series, done to simple perfection, nothing more needs to be said...wait, what, Season 2 is in the works?

We are living in a golden age of Shoujosei and I don’t think people are appreciating it enough!THAT FIRST 5 MINUTES?? THAT’S HOW YOU DO A CONFESSION 😭 this is where the tears started and they just continued all episode long. Genuinely one of the best confession episodes I’ve ever seen. Of course Koki knows where Sae would run to. He’s paid attention to every detail about her for years. The way Sae does a double take and looks around because she can’t believe he’s talking to her omg 🥹

Them both being on cloud 9 after the confession and Sae still kinda doubting everything happened until Koki’s friend comes up and tells her the card at the festival actually said “someone you love”, not “someone tall” omg. So all of Koki’s friends have known this entire time he loved her!! Sae, accept it, you deserve all of this.

Again, my heart goes out to Ayukawa because Sae was probably his first love and he clearly was blindsided by Koki confessing to her. He’s a great guy though and in any other series I’d root for him. I wonder how they’ll handle his unresolved feelings in season 2!

THE FLASHBACK DURING THE FIREWORKS OH MY GOODNESS. This is where it just became full blown ugly crying because we saw things from Koki’s perspective and finally understood how long he’s been in love with Sae. Every single thing he’s done has been in anticipation of this moment and becoming someone she could be with romantically. He got stronger, he changed the way he called her so as to not sound lame 🥹 etc. He has yearned for her just as much as she’s yearned for him!! The ED song playing and being the song she wanted this whole time makes it even better!!

This was hands down one of the best school romances I’ve seen in a minute. I couldn’t ask for more out of one. No unnecessary fanservice or sexualization of minors, no cringe jokes, no dragged out plotlines, progress every week and two very lovable leads! Perfection. Sae’s body image issues were so relatable and I think a lot of people will find something they can relate to in this story! Peak romance.

Mostly an episode about the past but it gave is a nice ending so i am not complaining.
Still it was sad to see Ayukawa like that it's pretty clear he has feelings for Sae as well.
It was nice of the other characters to help out tho.

We finally got Kamishiro's side of things and if I may, it's bloody finally time lol. The ebbs and flows kept going on and intensifying but I guess that's the charm with the Shoujo demographic works! It's hard to make out if it's Kamishiro with the proposal to be honest since Iwata went ahead and rushed him a little but whatever the case, the two have been basically picking up the wrong signals all along and it's finally time from here on to rectify that, lol. And for that reason, I'm so glad we're already green-lit a 2nd Season!

Stellar Days in the background, no surprises there. Don't see often where the 4D wall break with the Op happens several times like that, so that was a nice touch. Plus the backstory with the starry effects and whatnot, the ED already had a decent amount of flair but this finale took it up a notch in fantastic form. There was that little bit in one of the previous episodes with a Yorushika track that Iwata pondered on but I suppose it wouldn't be easy unless the VAs were called up for a cover or something along those lines. Wouldn't have minded that at all to be honest either but paying homage to the Op is pretty cool too.

Got to feel for Ayukawa here, Kamishiro's half-heartedness gave him a slimmer of hope and that's going to devastate him to some extent I'm sure. There was an interesting fade from Onodera after her plea for a boyfriend to him towards the end that caught my attention. Could it perhaps? I'm prob reading too much into it, in all fairness lol.

7/10 from here, and looking forward to phase 3 of their relationship. Feels right to call it phase 3 considering pre-anime events were phase 1 and S1 featured phase 2, imo.

Of course, they were going to end up together. They have been loving each other since elementary but weren't ready to speak it out, time to time to get what we got. I'm happy for them.

I can't believe I've to said this twice in the same day, but the trend of having women confess first needs to stop now. It's an insult to women and a disgrace for men.

For this anime, it's such a waste that a nice animation was used for a lousy story. What's worse is that they've to make a sequel.

Everything wrapped up somewhat nicely between Sae and Kouki. Feels kinda sad to see Ayukawa sitting alone in the shogi clubroom though. Seems like there's a second season confirmed so hopefully we can see more of the other characters and the 2 can actually know each other better.

YES!!!! FINALLY FINALLY GOD DAM IT, im so sick of these amazing underrated romance anime just getting thrown to the side ending on a confession and never seeing the light of day but no thank god were getting a season 2. Were being blessed with this one.

But to talk about the finale it was an amazing way to wrap season 1 off, overall just tied everything together very nicely. I had a feeling the scavenger hunt card thingy was a lie from Kouki and there was more to it so nice to see confirmation on that plus some nice setting up for season 2.

I think this show was generally really good in how it handled the two main characters, the real two negatives I have is not focusing too deeply on the side characters such as Sui and also just overblowing the whole Sae is super tall thingy. Like holy hell these kids act like she's some kinda eldritch horror like dam have they never seen a tall girl before!?

I also thought at least Ayukawa was handled nicely, considering we kinda got a 4 characters mixed up in the romance I think Ayukawa was handled well. Kouki's cousin wasn't though it really feels like they just threw her in for the hell of it to make Sae have some moments were she doubts herself or what not. But at least Ayukawa felt more natural.

For season 2 all I want is developing Sae and Kouki now there dating and some time towards the side characters (Mainly Sui)

Amazing anime low 9/10

So many misunderstandings but they finally confessed! A slow and cute romance but it was enjoyable.

Didn't expect to have a second season tho, i'm hoping that Ayukawa gets his own romace.

Really a great romance anime! It has all you could hope for with a teen romance anime. Build up, slight misunderstanding, great emotional growth. with a very satisfying ending. really recommend this for anyone who likes teen/school romances. 8/10
Now with an announcement for season 2, If they just focus on their romance and possibly (hopefully) a Second romance within the friend group. it'll be a fire season!

They nailed the ending, nothing else needs to be said. Oh, there's a season 2??? I guess there'll be more shojoesque shenanigans from our main two, hoping for some actual love for Ayukawa(either Onodera or Kagawa is fine).

It finally happened and gladly it all felt organic and sincere. Loved the finale as i loved the anime as a whole. And season 2 confirmed? heck yeah! just give the animators a little more budget cause they've done and excellent job with little so I have no doubt they cand do so much better if given the chance.

Oh good. This had me worried that we wouldn't get the ending we wanted with even more wimpiness from Koki delaying our joy, but it worked out and didn't disappoint with a weak ending like Yano-kun. Feel bad for Ayukawa, but that was pretty much inevitable, wasn't it? Seems like others also think maybe Subaru had some feelings for Koki there at the end.

Season 2? No thanks. This story has been told.

A magnificent final episode, the main moment when Kouki and Saya finally confessed their feelings to each other. I feel sorry for Ayukawa, but he has a large selection of girlfriends. I really hope that the second season will also focus on other couples, because the other characters are just as interesting: Mio, Subaru, and Hisui are at least worthy of their partners.

Aside from how corny it was, how many times they told each other “you’re my star, brighter than the sun”, I really loved the finale. 5/5. I’m really glad Kouki and Sae started dating. I do feel bad for Yota, though. I was also happy to find out there’s going to be a second season. I can’t wait for it.

I had a feeling that Sae was the crush Kouki had always been talking about, though I wasn’t sure, so I’m really glad it turned out to be true. I also really love how nice every character in this anime is, except Yushin, haha.

Like, even Takuya, when the paper said “someone you like” and he didn’t want to read it out loud so Kouki wouldn’t look bad, he just read it as “a tall girl”, which he came up with on the spot, with no intention of hurting Sae at all. It was genuinely adorable. I can’t wait for the second season.

Oh my god.

The quality dipped a bit in the early minutes BUT I DON'T CAREEEE because the middle to the end was just… UHHHH I don't even know, I was so touched!! Especially that final scene where they're holding hands and softly laughing together… oh my god. After Yano and Yoshida closing their season smiling together, now Kamishiro and Iwata too?! :")

BUT KAMISHIRO AND IWATA ARE GETTING A SECOND SEASON AAAAAAHHHH OH MY GOD!!!!! I DID NOT EXPECT THAT AT ALL. I'm genuinely so touched and so happy. I really enjoyed the story, and I loved it even more because they were clearly endgame from the start.

But honestly… because I love Ayukawa so much, I'M ALSO REALLY SAD T___T one of the best guys this season so I really hope he gets his own sweet love story in the next season!!

Ahhhhh. Seriously. I love this so much.
