Damn, what a revelation about Umi. And Shiroha is her..mother?!

Yeah, this pretty much aligns with similar trend of this season. Hayari of course will try to give more happy memories for Umi because that's the type of selfless guy he is. What an episode though. You can just tell by the emotional content with this rouote.

Another great episode. In short this is basically the last episode of Shiroha's route but much better.

Alka route has had a great adaptation so far. Next episode is going to be much better and I have feeling they'll do a great job adapting that specific scene. ⭐

Really enjoying this route, explored basically the biggest mystery about the show which is Umi herself and why she travelled back in time, finding out that Shiroha is actually her mom and Hairi is her dad which is really interesting. Gotta say the underwater fight was crazy tho

Getting scared for this finale of this route because every final scene seems to break someone's heart and especially with a child being the star of the route, this not goin end in a smile...

Holy shit that ending!! Why did Umi go out in the boat?? To prevent her mom from dying? But if she dies wouldn’t that create a time paradox type situation? Someone get to her in time please!

As for the lead up to that, we already knew Shiroha was Umi’s mom and it was likely she didn’t wanna get close to Hairi and Umi because of the festival vision, but seeing Hairi fight Shiroha’s grandad will never get old. He’s just a s funny in this route lol. Umi meeting her great grandfather was really cute, I love how he goes from being utter badass to doting on his great grandbaby instantly.

“We’re married, but I want you to be my sweetheart” ahhh Hairi just always knows what to say, love this dude sm. I need a happy ending with the two of them seeing Umi off as she goes back to the future with a renewed understanding of her parents.

The butterfly was foreshadowing something.
And grandpa wasn't happy with the news he got until Umi calmed him down.
Looking closely at him tho i think he has the same eye colour as Umi.
Still Shiroha and Hairi got closer this episode which was nice to watch.

Another good episode.

There is so much emotional moments in this arc and I'm loving each one of them. So Shiroha is her mother and Hairi is her dad. Damn, I wasn't expecting that at all but holy that caught me off guard. I really love this arc so far, maybe it can be my favorite arc soon.

11:50 getting Deja vu again 🤣 Umi’s and Shiroha’s routes are very overlapping

16:40 Umi calling Shiroha her mom right in front of her grandpa! 🤣🫢🤭

17:30 Umi really convinced her grandpa easily 🤣

Here we go again at the end 🤯

Basically the Grand/Main route is separated into two routes as the next one is going to be the continuation of Alka after it's finished and the conclusion for the entirety of the series. But it's still safe to assume that since they are connected and doesn't really change much of the plot as it's just going to give a proper conclusion even though they are separated. ❤

@Marinate1016 Sort of, the true route has more like part one and two out of which this is the first.

Kind of like how Moon and Terra are two separate parts of the true route of Rewrite.

Oh this was actually a really good episode. No dips in animation quality and plenty of nice shots to look at. The pacing was on point as well.

I am so glad they fleshed out grandpa's character and motivations this episode considering he didn't have much of a presence in Shiroha Route. He was just really worried for Shiroha's image on the island and wanted to help her open up to others and dispel the rumors surrounding her. In the visual novel it's expanded that he knows Shiroha often goes out in school uniform to pretend to go to school whilst still milling around the island and his concern for her is genuine.

The whole peanut gallery coming to spectate the showdown while snacking on festival food was hilarious. The gang is probably some of my favourite group of characters in anime at this point.

Overall this was pretty enjoyable and Alka is shaping up to be a very well-adapted route. I hope that the episode they took from Shiroha Route will be added onto Alka to really flesh out the emotional scenes in the arc's finale.

Another Umi centered episode which was also a great one. This one definitely felt like deja-vu as it showed similar scenes from before but this time they were better since Umi was in them. Also, while Shiroha didn't end up in the water unfortunately Umi is on the boat which means that Hairi will most likely jump in to try to rescue her. Hopefully grandpa is nearby to also lend a hand and that they all make it out alive.

Shiroha really put extra sauce on that "Dosukoi!" delivery because damn, that felt personal.

The only thing greater than Umi's daughter energy? Her great-granddaghter energy, of course!

And dammit Hairi, you just had to celebrate evading fate too soon, did

Lol Shiroha's grandfather learning that he has a granddaughter and that Shiroha is married to Hairi who is the father... well it didn't happen yet but this is the future xD His showdown against Hairi underwater sure was crazy lol and now it's finally up to the ritual and it seems like it's all going well until they realize Umi is actually in the boat and Shiroha has the vision... damn so the actual victim now is going to be Umi? This is heartbreaking

Umi is such a precious girl that you would do anything to protect her happiness. That's why I respect Hairi for going out of his way to make Umi happy again.

This was mostly similar to how it played out in the previous arc, but with Umi playing a big part this time around. Sadly, that also meant another tense situation when the festival was over after the realisation hit hard that Umi was on the boat. I can only hope that Hairi and the others can rescue Umi as soon as they can without any issues.

Please let this arc end on a happy note!

Great episode again, next episode will probably be the Yasoka scene which I'm not prepared for again. I'm wondering if the end of this route will be shortened for after Yasoka or whether they'll spend a whole episode on that ending for Alka then transition into Pocket cause having those 2 scenes in the same episode would be rough for my emotions.

Also side note Key had a livestream for their next Visual Novel anemoi which is made by a lot of the same staff as SP.

@RazorKrillin That route is actually the biggest change in the plot, still carries a lot of themes and everything and is a direct continuation of Alka but I'll give a kind of minor spoiler about a character that doesn't exist properly yet

Yup it definitely has Summer Pockets vibes with it and it's gonna be the first fully priced VN that Maeda won't be a part of even as a composer so it's gonna be interesting.

Well it was nice that we got to see the full battle between Hairi and Kobato this time, but other than that I kinda wish they coulda skipped the stuff we already knew from Shiroha’s route, like when she explained her ability to see the future and Hairi earning a place next to her at the festival, I think that was time that could’ve been used to show some skipped scenes with the friend group that I’ve heard we missed out on in the anime. Oh well, it was still a mostly solid episode anyway, the romantic moments between Hairi and Shiroha were really good, as was Umi’s bits as well, I really liked the letter part especially. Also lol at Kobato melting when Umi called him grandpa, yeah it would be incredibly hard to say no at that point.

But it’s looking like the biggest difference in the festival this time is that instead of that one little girl being on the shrine boat, it’s Umi instead. Why is she on it? No idea, but you bet your sweet bippy that Shiroha is gonna go out to sea again like she did before despite trying to change the future where she falls in the water, but I already nitpicked this before lol, hopefully they’ll save Umi tho if she’s truly on the boat.

Hmm, the future vision Shiroha saw is different in this cycle. This episode has some reoccurring stuff from Shiroha's arc, let's just hope Hairi can save her again. Shiroha's reaction to being called a loner twice xD, she let out a peep. The talking underwater battle returns lol, and the flashback launch sheesh. Hurray, Shiroha and Hairi are married again! The double voice cracks was nice lol, always love those little funny bits they have in this anime.

Dam, this time Umi is on the boat? Kinda saw it happening though (with it earlier foreshadowed). Well, surely they'll be all fine like last time right??

Never ending plan to watch list...

This episode is basically just a repeat of the previous arc.
The only difference is that Umi gets carried along in that boat.
I feel sorry for Umi, who keeps repeating time, and whose senses and even reading ability have started to decline.

Glad that we got the extended version of the underwater fight, because it's such a good and fun scene :)
Shiroha's grandpa was hilarious from start to finish.

@KingShisui There is hope to be had seeing the episode count remaining. They might actually be adapting Reflection Blue's extended ending which is a massive improvement over the original visual novel's extremely depressing ending. It doesn't mean the original's ending doesn't happen, but just that the situation finds a way to improve.

To be precise, Alka route remains unchanged from original VN and then two additional routes follow it up in direct sequence (which may not be clear what this means to you yet, but keep watching) directly impacting that timeline rather than being split off into their own unrelated thing unlike the prior routes. This make Alka, aka Shiroha/Umi's route, significantly longer than the others.

WARNING: We're still early in the Alka route, but honestly I recommend anyone who wants to get proper impact of the remainder of this route or just doesn't do emotional segments well being split up drip fed over several weeks to pause their viewing here until the rest of the season is finished. Might be able to get away with watching next episode but stopping after that depending on how they adapt, but yeah the next several episodes are going to be a lot emotionally.
