It seems the rumored creature at school feeds on fear. This episode just had alot of anxiety.

Man, that poor kid Makoto is scared to his pants. I do like how this episode aimed for psychological drama to make it exciting. When that monster did show itself, it looked like something out of a horror film.

I happen to watch this episode at night when I'm home alone, and what's worse is that my house is isolated from other houses. I haven't been scared like this from watching anime since Summertime Render.

Anyway, I like that this reboot modernized everything. I don't read manga but I assume the scammer want the viewer to buy his fake product, but now it's channel subscription instead, brilliant!

I'm actually amazed that while this is one of the earlier exorcism genre in anime, but what Nube does is already go beyond eliminating ghost, he actually solve the problem at its root. His students fear ghost? Instead of just exorcise that ghost, he make his students face their fear directly.

Very good episode.
It made me look under my desk at the end, just in case. It's a nice meta touch they added. I like it.
Btw, I can't find the episode in the original adaptation, but I did find the manga chapter (volume 3, chapter 17).
I used Ctrl-F on Wikipedia's list of episodes and briefly looked manually, but I am afraid of spoilers so I didn't look into it any further.
Maybe they were afraid of the possible consequences of adapting it...

i know this was made in the 90s but the teketeke stuff reminded me of the old momo case at the peak of the elsagate fiasco where EDPs would send messages to kids as momo and tell them to do horrible stuff

This episode adapted chapter 17. Another episode that is new to me, and after a quick check on Wikipedia, I don't think this episode was ever adapted in the 1996 version, so this is the first never-before adapted chapter that is being animated for the first time.

Also, this looks to be the first episode where the majority of the people give a 5/5 to, as episodes 1-5 have the majority of people giving it a 4/5.

Poor Ritsuko.

I tried my best with the subs here, but FFmpeg just wouldn't render the subs the same way Aegisub showed them, probably because I fucked up in a way that Aegisub found pathetic enough to hide from me.

Again, really good episode that was well worth the wait. Sad it got delayed due to external reasons, but oh well. :)

This episode was better than episode 5, in my opinion (I love Katsuya). This episode today was giving that eerie feeling of who's haunting you, based on one of Japan's famous urban legends, and it came from the manga also. Also, Makoto is my favorite kid from Nube's class. I'm glad he had his moment in this episode. I love that the remake is making it more spooky than the original, imo (love the original though).

@Daviljoe193 Poor girl. She's honestly more comedic in the remake than the original than a ditzy hot teacher and the original still gives her a scaredycat feeling when you talk paranormal with her but she has a gentle girl next door look based on her style.

@wildhood, it didn't, sadly. In the original, they were going more lighthearted, while I bet Teketeke was like the creepiest episode to be made and they didn't do 'A' also who would of been good. The only creepiest episode they did was like the 100th Tale story episode, I honestly hope they bring that back for the remake.

I could honestly watch like 100 episodes of this show, even manga aside, there are like a thousand legends and ghost stories to do.

It's also crazy that in this world you can deadass curse 100k people to death if they don't sub to your Patreon for a (probably dud) spell

Teketeke is misunderstood. Tears in her eyes. Show flashbacks of her human life. Feel bad for her. Retreats without killing.

2 minutes later. Brutally kills a guy doing a live stream. lol

Oooh this one was probably the spookiest episode so far, the origin story for Teketeke paired with the way she appears in your room, very creepy stuff. But I hate to admit, it stopped being scary the moment she started talking lol, if only she stayed silent the whole time or eerily moaned or something, also ngl I think it may have worked if the voice they chose was creepier, it just didn’t match the corpsey ghost it was coming from. However, I still found this to be a very good one, I like how Makoto basically got scared of one of those “if you don’t send this to 20 people you know then x will haunt you forever” kinda things, only this was locking the trick to not getting haunted behind a subscription service lol, YouTuber man got what was coming to him for that, unfortunate that he happens to live in a world where ghosts are real lol.

I liked how they helped the spirit move on too, it was a bit freaky how Nube stuck his gross hand through Makoto and Teketeke to help them communicate but it turned a terrifying situation into a wholesome one, but if I were Makoto I’d still be too scared to sleep that night lol. A couple things to note here at the end of the post though, I noticed Miki’s boobs were drawn in a way so it looked like she had one boob a few times, not sure if anyone else noticed that besides me. And also, this story actually reminded me a bit of the Bongcheon-Dong Ghost, where instead of asking for your legs she’s asking where her baby is, I remember this scaring a lot of people back in the day so it was cool to be reminded of it here.

And lastly, nice to hear this is a newly adapted chapter for the remake, that’s one of the best aspects of modern remakes of old anime, seeing things animated that never got a chance before.

The teketeke reminded me that there was a J-horror film with that name and yeah, it's much more grotesque, but this is a solid subversion and modification of the concept within the series, probably also incorporating the social media influencer aspect, which arguably plays right into the urban legend and the karmic justice at the end works well, possibly way better than if it's what I think it was in the original, the fake priest guy that showed up every so often.

That is creepy and also sad. Would be an awful way to die to actually have it delayed like that.

I was late catching this episode, but I really loved it. Especially the ending, though sad she still wasn't at peace because of this A-hole. Hopefully she can move on now the scammer has been dealt with!

This was a really grating episode. This dipshit kid spending the entire episode screaming and crying about Teketeke got on my nerves really fast. And the whole thing just ended up feeling totally pointless in the end with that idiot youtuber getting killed for no particular reason. I liked the other episodes so far but this one was a serious clunker.

The rumoured Teketeke train incident that has Makoto all worried that the spirit will haunt him within 3 days, the others around him think it's an urban legend of a superstition at best, and feels like he shouldn't really care about it that much. Instead, it only haunts him further to warrant him sharing the story around school, which slowly becomes a problem not just to the kids, but to Ritsuko as well. However, Nube knows the real extent of the Teteteke danger due to a real incident that happened along the train tracks, that Makoto's fear could really bring back the half-split girl's spirit, for better or for worse.

It's all psychological on Makoto's part, as secretly Nube, along with both Hiroshi and Kyoko, prep when the spirit faces him alone in his house for interference. And as much as Nube's medium helps the kid to realize that Teketeke has been the subject of human litigation that her spirit has been unable to rest in peace, it's Makoto who has to do the work to allay those fears that everyone has been hearing all along of a myth. One thing never changes though: it's karma for those spreading lies about it, like the streamer profiting her story for income.

For once, a pretty good story that may have the psychological trauma, but spirits can be understood and treated sacred too if you serve them right and leave them aside.

Time for this brat to get involved and man this guy was pretty annoying. The story was good though. Also serves that streamer right for scummy tactics. Spreading it like that is a big part of the reason she is bound after all.

Watching is scary. Probably, the scariest episode. And watching this at night for me is not a good idea. I don't remember the OG Nube anime being this scary. Well that was many years ago so I can't remember everything. It feels nostalgic remembering the 90's version. lol at Ritsuko being a scaredy cat.

I feel bad for the ghost. That guy who's taking advantage of this got what he deserves. Good thing for the little guy, Nube and the two were guarding him.

It also scary, that when we think something is real, it could become real.
