Got dressed up and finally together to perform. I love how hyped up Lilisa got that it's even scaring their competition. It's some cool gimmick as part of her character. Shiro got fired up too.

In the end though, Lilisa and Otoha still remains the main chemistry of the show. It started from day one and carried it to the end.

That performance was SOOOO FUCKING GOOD HOLY SHIT BANDMAID KILLED IT AGAIN AHHHHH. Didn’t just win over not just the totally hostile crowd, but us viewers too. Sure, the other band was pretty weak, but when you’re hit with rock that raw and full of emotion, it’s impossible not to feel something.

It made perfect sense that Oto finally realized the joy of playing in a band and performing for others. It was the perfect way to wrap things up. I’m completely satisfied.

The Battle of the Bands once again, and Bacchus may have their audience numbers, but Lilisa and the all-female instrumental rock band, with their group name of Rock Lady, ABSOLUTELY cooked with mesmerizing the same audience, and their performance was one-of-a-kind.

In fact, Bacchus didn't even stand a chance after them, and no one other than the lead singer Naoto has the ire of anger. And Rock Lady's retaliation, within each and every girl's personality to diss off at them, even by the retaliation of Bacchus's own manager to quit after being accused of aggravated assault. But all in all, Rock Lady is off to a good start being the instrumental rock band that will shake people, one concert at a time, until they reach Fuji Rock.

This is quite the wacky girls' rock band of a show. Great at moments, but very good overall.

Good job, girls! That was a great performance. I'm proud of you. :3

Well, this was a pretty good and wacky show with a very hot main cast. However, some music segments felt a big draggy, and all that exaggerated sweating during their playing looked kinda ridiculous. :P

Magnificent performance from the girls, really electrifying. All of them worked so hard despite all the frustration and arguments to capture the audience for good. Loved this show all in all and got hyped every week. We could use more music series like this.

My last dose of rock lesbians for the season 😒 Anime of the season, never in doubt. Really second only to medalist this year for me this year. Incredible finale for a legendary show. Need a season 2, please! Onto the manga in the meantime, I’ll miss my girls sm.

“We are rock lady” again whenever a show goes with the series title for a finale and no OP, you know it’s gonna be special. As you’d expect, the girls absolutely demolished those spoiled rich pricks. They showed them and everyone in that club what rock is all about. My jaw’s still on the floor from that performance. Lilisa’s guitar solo, Tina’s keyboard performance, Otoha losing herself in ecstasy.. the best part of an instrumental performance is everyone is a star and they come together to make this beautiful universe we see unfolding on stage.

This series started with Lilisa and Otoha just playing for fun so it’s only right the final performance of this season is them getting lost in complete ecstasy trying to one up each other. “Lilisa is always leading me to unknown levels of ecstasy.” This performance was quite literally orgasmic. When the girls started “going to space” holy shit I lost it man this was amazing. They managed to bring the same magic Lili and Oto had when they first met in the old school house to the stage in front of hundreds of people. It wasn’t about winning or beating Bacchus, just having fun.

Speaking of Bacchus, idek why they tried showing up to the stage after that performance because they were NEVER going to top the girls. It’s one thing to get cooked on stage, but Lilisa completely eviscerating them verbally was so satisfying too. You can tell they’re the sort of dudes who’ve never dealt with any sort of adversity so as soon as they do, they fold. “Because never in a million years will you be good enough to play against girls like us” πŸ˜‚ Otoha doesn’t usually cook people, but when she does, man is it cold. The fact that loser actually tried to hit Lilisa tho 🀒

“You’re sticking with me to the end, right, partner?” “Because of you this is the only thing my body gets off on” Ahhh this is a confession in my books. Truly the gays of all time. Also note how during that convo, Otoha is framed with a rose in the window, while Lilisa with a Lily. Nice way to sum up their personalities and relationship.

So mad we end right as the girls fully come together as a band and the road to Fuji rock gets going! We still have Lilisa’s mom to deal with, the whole noble lady title award plot line, etc., so a lot still to come from this story and although I’m sad it’s over, I’m happy the manga’s ongoing! I’ll miss my girls.

MEH is much better Mushibugyou that this from the same autor...The first episodes were good/decent, especially episode 5,9 is decent or this last one, but the rest were meh or bad like the previous one (the worst episode),what made me keep watching it and cared was the character of Otoha, and because of the moments where they played músic with the instruments.So..yeah a Bit Overrated

Well the trash band got trashed and those toxic people got what they deserved.
Lilisa got Otoha to change her opinion and have fun on stage which was nice.
And the girl managed to sway the fans of the trash band which was also a good thing.

The bad thing is that the anime is over i would have liked to see more.
I really enjoyed this anime.

Their performance was electrifying, specially Otoha's drums, literally. The animation was so good, BN Pictures delivers when needed. They've done a great job this whole anime too. Rock Lady is such a simple name but still better than whatever the other four was suggesting. They won over the fans and trash talked to the losers to their hearts content. Even Tina showed middle finger lol, she looked so embarrassed doing it. Otoha's maid/whatever swept the floor with the clown too. Knew she was gonna kick ass. Was expecting a bit more on Otoha's turn around but otherwise great finale. Was a solid anime overall, hoping for new season.

My God, that was so peak, I NEED A SEASON 2 PLEASE!

Most importantly though, I can't wait for the soundtrack to come out in a few days, I will be listening to those BAND-MAID covers until season 2 releases, if it doesn't then I guess I'll be listening to them forever.

It was cathartic to see Lilisa start off hot compared to their last performance. The way they won over those fans is absolute cinema.

The scene at the end, Jesus, they're so gay,

This was absolutely one my favorite shows this season, might even be my top 1 new show for the season. I would sell my soul for a second season. We truly are in an era of girls band (cry).

Episode 13 was everything I could've hoped for and more. Watching the girls absolutely roast Bacchus while Ready to Rock played in the background? Legendary. And the way Lilisa and Otoha looked at each other at the end... that “partners” line hit harder than a title drop

I still can't believe how this show, with no major hype before airing, delivered such a powerful finale. The music, the energy, the character growth. Rock Lady really carved its place among the greats like Bocchi and GBC.
Now we wait... and pray for a season 2

Finale time!
Loved the girls performance so so much, easily the best one so far.
Glad to see Oto changed, and that ultimately this episode reaffirmed Lily and Oto's strong bond (that last scene with the two of them, in particular, was probably the closest we've got to gain the 'girls love' tag).
'Rock Lady' is a simple but very fitting name for the band, also very fitting that Alice is the one who came up with it.
The episode ends with the girls looking forward to their future concerts and hanging out, very nice way to finish it!

Overall, the show is easily one of the best of the season imo, definitely in my top 5.
I really liked the comedy of the first episodes with the girls changing constantly between their 'ojou-sama' personas and their rocker personalities and the frequent innuendos between Lily and Oto.
In the colorful cast of characters that we got I liked Lily, Alice and Tina personalities the most: Lily because she's the most determined but also the goofiest one and the most fragile one it feels, Alice because of her switch from 'cold-hearted evil stepsister' to 'Lily number one fangirl' and because of her kindness and generosity that are pretty obvious in these last few episodes, Tina because of her silly dialogues with her plushie and also because she's the one who has to work the most (whether we're talking self-confidence of musical talent).
And of course, I loved Lily/Oto relationship a lot: without it I wouldn't have enjoyed the show half as much I'm sure.

Hopefully we'll get a season 2 at some point, because I'm going to miss these characters and this story quite a bit :)

Fucking Cinema...πŸ–•

Talking about saving the best for the last....

I love the name Rock lady I was expecting it as a reference to the name of the series. If it was on me I would have let Otoha cook tbf. Sadism is truly beautiful.

Whatta perfomance though all of them went all blasting it was an absolute joy to watch.

That how unsimpify simps by blasting their ears. Bluds tried looking away and was forced to watch and become fans...
Also Lilisa dragged Otoha into the mood. They just first involved the crowd with pleasing but then doing their shit after. Glad she understood that fast. Otoha helped out under confident Lilisa last live show and show Lilisa helped her when she almost lost motivation. And that fucking end part of their performance holly f the studio went all out with animation it looked incredible..
All the 3DCG weirdness are forgiven just for this.

Those four low life got what they deserve. Inflated ego brust like ballons and they have to run like rats. Arisu won her battleπŸ₯°
All her four oneechan then didn't spare to gave those a piece of their minds as always. Obviously Lilisa didn't left anything she had pent up frustration from that lady earlier, it means so much to her. And Shiraya also did what expected of her but even Tina joined lol and Otoha with ara ara ara😭😭😭♥️

PEAK content as always cursing>= music in this anime..
Obviously threat and violance came next. Expecting that but good seeing Itsuki dude finally growing a spine. And glasses girl good timing. These low lifes should be charged imo but whatever they did played nice gender rage bait and ain't even complaining just so satisfying to see them eat shit...

Nice way to finish. Almost baited another Yuri kiss as usual. But Otoha and Lilisa both got clarity and their goal set looking forward to future..

8/10
Another brilliant Girls band anime. This genre hardly miss. Not as goated as Bocchi or GBC but very good throughout. Although other girls except Lilisa didn't get much personal development but there probably be more in the future and I hope there is a future this is the spring anime most deserving of sequel. Not now but needed. All out banging degenerate music was great. Curse and shit talks were magnum opus and some nice delightful fanservice too.
All girls were amazing. Shiraya became better slowly (specially after showing her culture of M), Tina was very good cute and her hardwork paid well, Arisu one of the cutest and sweetest adorable creature. Both Lilisa and Otoha fantastic mc of start to finish, give these two any setting it will work out. I love these two so much but slightly Otoha more...

This probably means GBC s2 won't happen... If otaku can be satisfied with a low-effort, cliche-filled, completely detached from reality, partial animation series and it still sells well, then nobody will sunk 5 years of work and multiple armored truck-loads of money into a polished rock made-for-TV show ever again.

Totally humbled those wanna be rockers who only cares about their image.

Lilisa really went crazy in that performance! Otoha was completely satisfied.
I love how Alice is just smiling over seeing her sister become so unhinged lol

Really love the relationship between Otoha and Lilisa, a healthy competition of making each other feel good with music.
And again, Girls Band Anime won't really stop Yuri-baiting!... looks YURI enough to me

wasn't a fan of this show's latter half, i felt like the only standout bits were the music, and even then, the performances felt overblown at times.

i know that catharsis of this episode was the bacchus loss, but to me it just felt so forced. no way these fans traveled to some small ass venune to not even care about the people they came to watch and be so entralled by the opener. i also find it hard to believe that these guys (aside from main guy w/ complex) would really care at all that they lost a rock concert. it seems to me they are only doing rock on a whim for followers, not for any real attachment, so when otoha insults their passion, i don't see why they'd feel offended.

id probably watch a s2, but in recent memory, i liked GBC much more.

The name of the band from Otoha, sounds really good, "Bondage Sadist", and most importantly, very suitable, given the fantasy of one of the participants, and so, a masterpiece, especially the last episode, that's how it should be final for musical work, music plus plot and yes urgently need a second season, good material for him enough.

Damn, that was out of the park !
What an electrifying perfomance from our ladies !!
I was worried over them playing first before Bacchus and their performance wouldn't stand out..but man I was completely wrong. Those pathetic weaklings never stood a chance before our girls. And the way they were able to steal their fans by playing first was so awesome.
Lilisa blowing the mind of the girls in the audience, Tina stealing their hearts with her charm, Tamaki making them feel things that they didn't know they can and finally Otoha unlocking her new fetish by seeing people cheer for her...Man! I literally creamed my pants 🀣😭😭
What better name would be there for this band than 'ROCK LADY' !! πŸ’―β€οΈ‍πŸ”₯❀️‍πŸ”₯
I really wanted that manager of Bacchus to post their video on net even if it risks their identities from getting out πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
The girls need recognition and however they're gonna be known by the world when they make it to Fuji Rock.
The only thing that was missing from this episode was a kiss between Lilisa and Otoha, haha..
God, they are so good together.
Can't wait for the announcement of season 2.

I had to jump through hoops to watch this and I don't regret a single effort, it was raw, fun, sometimes even touching and never, ever boring. I hate that the manga still isn't widely available. Much like Bocchi The Rock, it helped so much that the music was actually really good, so anime first manga second is the way to go. A second season may be far off, but I'm patient. Only pet peeve, while I love the opening and ending songs, wouldn't it have been much better for them to be instrumental? I know that's not the way things are done in "the biz" but it would have embodied the spirit of this "give no effs" show to a T.

Yep, one of the best this season.

I really enjoyed this entire anime and the music.

It was a lot of fun!
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

I have to say that as cathartic as the performance and the subsequent dressing-down of Bacchus was, this was a fairly disappointing finale.

First disappointment: manager kid snapping the SD card. I was hoping that that video would be posted. With this setup, all the interesting drama happens once these clandestine schoolgirls have been exposed to all. Well, maybe some of their new fans recorded their encore and posted it. I hope so.

Second disappointment: nothing really went wrong with the performance or the audience control or anything. It was just smooth sailing from beginning to end. Even Otoha's reservations were completely resolved without any issue. That was set up to be something much bigger than it ended up being.

Third (and possibly biggest) disappointment: no twist at all in the end to set up another season. Which says they aren't really certain they'll get one. I have faith it will go on, but I really did want to see something concrete here.

All that said, I can't say I didn't like it on the whole, just for the excellent imagery alone. It's more that I set my expectations for drama and ramping tensions so high that this denouement was bound to feel like a let-down.

I agree with the dissenting opinion. The earlier episodes had a lot of promise, but around mid point the flame that burned early on was already fading and this finale did nothing to reignite it.

There were parts while they were playing that the visuals didn't match the tempo of their music (quite noticeable when Tina was under the spotlight). Their performance felt very lackluster, nothing in their overstretched live events feel like that jolt of electricity with Kuro & Lilisa banging in the abandoned music room. It was a huge shonen festa with bystanders reactions on how awesome they were, but the music and the visuals just didn't make it (felt like classic tell don't show).

This show feels it's more akin to standard shonen with band thematic than an actual band anime. I'll die on this hill, Bocchi the Rock & Girls Band Club raised the bar for band anime and it's hard to just settle with loud shonen gimmicks with band theme wrapped around it and yuri undertones.

I'll be generous and give it a 6.5/10 because it had a really interesting premise early on with Lilisa rebelling on her own role as an ojousama.

Damn. Probably one of the best, if not the best, performances I've seen in anime.

Finally bitches that can rock. Give me moe.

In the midnight hour, babe, "More, more, more"
With a rebel yell, "More, more, more."

I hope that if this gets a second season that none of the bands suck!

Ah, Rock Lady is the band name, I shoulda seen it coming lol, I thought Lilisa’s name was better tho. And yeah that was absolutely a face melting performance, their best so far no doubt, I really loved how it gave each band member a solo, and it helps because we could actually hear Tina in the mix this time lol. But when they said being an instrumental band makes it to where everyone is the star, I don’t really agree with that, sure a band with vocals usually has a frontman, but not every band, if you have multiple people that do vocals and the songs have long instrumental sections that showcase each band member, I think it makes every band member just as much a star as we see here with Rock Lady.

And that same thing goes with their continued resistance to include vocals, you can still have someone that sings and jam the hell out between verses, just because you have a vocalist doesn’t mean you can’t jam lol, but I guess I respect their decision, they still play badass music regardless. Also, I thought the way the crowd reacted here was a bit unrealistic, you’d think if they came for Bacchus they would shut up for them, but damn they weren’t loyal at all lol, only one was, so even if the crowd reacted better for our resident babe band this time around, both concerts had an instance of rude af fans, but hey it did play into Bacchus getting absolutely embarrassed so I guess it’s not a big deal lol, the moment they got royally cooked was amazing. And the last moments of the episode were dedicated to Lilisa and Otoha, and another declaration of making it Fuji Rock, I’d really love to see the girls do it so I hope it gets a Season 2, and I completely get how Otoha was feeling after a concert lol, there’s nothing like it.

And that was it for the “girls band but the girls have sailor’s mouths” anime, it’s not the greatest girls band show I’ve seen but it really did kick a lot of ass in its own way to separate itself from the others, and one thing I will give Rock Lady over GBC, is that they at least came out and started rocking right away, unlike the permanent Nina monologue at the start of every setlist lol. Another thing I really loved about this show was the direct music references to real rock bands, these may be high society ladies (minus Lilisa) but they know their rock, I knew whatever music they’d be playing would rip with their music background. And I gotta say the characters themselves were all very strong, I don’t think one was weaker than the other, they all added a lot, but if I had to pick a favorite I think it would be Tina, I found her to be really endearing and as always, I’m weak to blue waifus lol, Lilisa would be a very close second because I found her very relatable with her love of rock music and trying to fit into a world she wouldn’t typically belong, her wicked smile is cute too lol.

And the OP and ED were both rocking and fitting for the show, but I think the ED is my favorite of the two, the visuals of the girls rocking out went really well with it. And once again, I’d love another season of this one, not sure how many chapters are out for that to happen but I’ll still hope for it one day, for now tho I guess we wait for the next great girls band anime, I’ll try and not miss the weekly viewing of them from now on lol.

I’ll miss my girls.

manga is ongoing but looks like it is licensed so we will be stuck in the slow grind of waiting for volumes to be released.

Yea it got licensed like two months ago by Yen, but I mean you can just read the original lol
