This episode feels more important than some of the others as Chika continues to explore with her friends to help improve her mangaka career. Kinda cool to see them take a bullet train too.

Yui fits right in with Chika and the others in this show imo.

Seems like the manga is going well, and the girls had a nice trip.
Tho also some delays during their trip with the train having to stop and such.
Hiroshima also has a lot of things to see so it's worth visiting.

@Aversa Yes, but it seems if they could visit a memorial to a battleship they could also visit a memorial to the event that ended THAT war. Just saying. Only thing that annoyed me. Otherwise, fine episode.

With Matsushima, Amanohashidate, and Itsukushima, Chika finally conquered all of the Three Views of Japan. So... what's next? Three Major Night Views of Japan with Mt. Hakodate, Mt. Maya in Kobe, and Mt. Inasa in Nagasaki?
They went to Hiroshima and returned to Tokyo with trying the famous Hiroshima Okonomiyaki?? hmmm...... At least, they had tried the Onomichi Ramen.
The city of Kure is famous for its naval district, especially during the WWII, cough... cough... Kantai Collection, as it was one of the major naval bases during that period, together with Sasebo and Yokosuka. Today, it's still one of the most important naval bases and shipyards in Japan.

Locations:
Anagomeshi Ueno Unagi = freshwater eel, while anago is a saltwater eel.
Itsukushima Jinja
Daisho-in
Henjo Cave
Momijido
Mos Burger Hiroshima eki Quite and underwhelming dinner for them because Mos Burger are everywhere in Japan.
Comfort Hotel(Pleasant Hotel) It's the Comfort Hotel in real life.
Yamato Onsen
Yamato Museum
Kure Haikara Shokudou
Senkoji Park Observatory
Hinode Shokudou (Permanently closed)

That's more Onomichi ramen eating than Pon no Michi, even though that anime is set in Onomichi. The JMSDF warships they saw at the docks were Shimokita (LST-4002) and Sazanami (DD-113).

That is quite the luxury bus, I understand why it is so expensive.
Some obstacles along the way but it seems this travel will be useful for Chika's growth as a mangaka.

This episode was really nostalgic for me as I visited Miyajima in 2023, so seeing Chika and the girls stand in front of places I’ve actually been to and take photos I have, felt surreal! I’m happy Chika has now seen all 3 legendary views of Japan and got ideas for her manga!!

That dream sleeper looks so tempting, I just like the optimise the time I spend getting from one place to another so idk about 7 hours to Osaka when you can get there in two on train, but damn that looks nice. You know it has to be really comfortable if Chika didn’t get sick!

They went to Miyajima at the perfect time it seems, wasn’t nearly as crowded as when I was there lol. I’m glad they mentioned the deer because there’s a LOT of them and I went during mating season in October so they were really aggressive and don’t bring any bags near them as they will destroy them 😂 I’m surprised the girls didn’t try the oyster curry stuff which Miyajima is famous for. I didn’t get a chance to walk up to the Toori during low tide, didn’t know that was a thing so that was cool.

Felt bad for the girls not getting a chance to go to the onsen because of all the train delays :/ but that’s a big part of travel, dealing with unforeseen circumstances. I wish we could’ve seen the Yamato replica, seemed weird to off screen that? Maybe to not promote Japanese WW2 stuff? It is history tho so idk why they skipped that. It also seems weird to go to Hiroshima and not see arguably one of the most important museums in the world that ended the war..

Loved the way Chika’s idea came to her this week. I think stairs are the perfect analogy for life. Taking that first step and dealing with the fatigue, regret, desire to quit and then getting to the top and being rewarded with something you’d never have seen if you didn’t take that first step.. it’s beautiful. Great episode today as usual so proud of Chika!

Really great episode.

Chika spending time with her friends was great. Hiroshima really IS huge. I feel like this episode was just about the three girls relationship. Chika's friends mean a lot to her and being able to go on journeys like these with them, really make it special for her. And honestly, they should really go on more trips like these, it's really fun to see them do random things while also having fun as well.

Again, this anime's sense of the mundane saps the life out of a journey.
So the Magic Bus really was pretty cool inside... I can only think if there's such a bus service stateside, it'll still be driven by some shlep who makes $9 an hour and it's only a matter of time before it ends up on its side in a ditch. On fire.

But then we go to a temple at least, and they visit the Great Camphor during low tide. Wish they spent more time on that, because when they go to the train station in Hiroshima- the train is cancelled so what do they do in Hiroshima?

It's Hiroshima.

Yes that's right- they go see the atomic bomb memorial sit in a dull, sterile, corporate burger joint in the train station that looks like something in Cincinnati Airport.
They spend the time to have the announcer tell us that safety checks on the track have concluded, so the train will depart shortly... okay...
Then between sending texts to her gf's, the train comes to a halt because a WILD BOAR has wandered onto the tracks and got hit by the train ahead??? Did I read that right?
Honestly, this is like the 7 train in New York. But watching it as entertainment in an anime doesn't really work folks.

And this is why I hate travel. It reminds me of the overcrowded train from Edinburgh to Leeds that some homeless dope groped one of the attendants and so they forced us to crowd onto another car, discontinued service on half the train and split the coaches. It was awful. And the destination was Birmingham.. oh God help me. This happened two years ago and all those awful memories have been dredged up by this anime!! I'm going to have nightmares now.

Their interactions were fun, as in certain situations Yui was able to tell what Fuyune was trying to say, while Chika struggled with it.

RIP to that wild bear. With his sacrifice, Chika finally got what she came on this trip for. She was able to make progress from the experience and emotions she went through during her expensive journey.

There was a bit more focus on the manga aspect this episode which I appreciated, though I'm still sad that the editor didn't join them on the trip, at least she's finally approved one of Chika's works. I did find it funny however, that she brought up how the characters feel so full of life in the fictional manga that Chika wrote, when in this show the characters are so flat.

Chika finally did it: Riding on a very luxurious bus without throwing up, getting into a ferry and not even considering motion sickness (because anime logic), getting in a train and arriving late due to it hitting a boar 👀, eating Onomichi ramen...

But most importantly: Deliver the results she wanted from the purpose of this trip with minor adjustments. Yatta! indeed. And thank you, Miyajima

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

Finally, Chika gets an approved draft. I was worried when it seemed she was wasting some money and not yet able to generate a return.

This episode is crucial for her character development. Bonus that we get to see a famous Japanese tourist spot.

I love these kind of anime showcasing life in Japan. Dream Sleeper is such a interesting thing. I guess intercity bus companies had to innovate due to the existance of shinkansen. But we had one more very interesting thing that happened this episode. Our girls had mid food from a chain! I always wondered if there even was a sol anime in existance where they had food that was neither amazing or a health hazzard. So this is how they eat it. Just keeping the scene short lmao

This might as well be my favorite episode of the show so far. I genuinely enjoyed the rest of the episodes relaxing me fully after a packed day but this was THE special episode that made me feel like Zatsu Tabi is going to stay in my mind long after the season is finished. From the views to Fuyune and Yui giving her hints and ideas in order to make her think of the best way for her to make a breakthrough for her manga. The best moment of the episode was clearly Chika's "Thank you" to both of them fully realizing how a simple whim lead not only to connecting so much more with the people around her but providing her the much needed inspiration she needed!

This episode made me think that when there will be some other accident at a level crossing, I will not have to complain too much, since it happens in Japan too, even if there perhaps they do not leave you in the dark about what happens on the railway line without a warning. I can't believe that after so much waiting, the shock so long awaited since the beginning of the season has arrived for the protagonist. The backgrounds are beautiful when they are taken from real photos.

Very important journey for our beloved chika.

She finally nailed it with her Tabi itself!
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

The Dream Sleeper night bus journey with Chika, Yui and Fuyune, the latter two share a bond closer than Chika (who debuted later), and things are looking good as they reach Osaka to go to Miyajima to capture Japan Top 3 views, starting with Itsukushima Shrine and its overtly religious setting.

Too bad that it didn't contribute one bit of idea for Chika, so off to Hiroshima they go towards Kure, though with an unexpected technical delay, then a service one on the Kure Line. At least there's Fuyune to contribute to Chika's manga drafts for inspiration, though her mentioning that she's more interesting than the manga she created, it sets her thinking.

Another journey to Onomichi confirms the emotions that Chika should capture, and at least the late-night bus journey can pass off as a one-shot. Great job though!

Osaka.
Chika was able to conquer the three views of Japan.
And thanks to the girls' advice, she was able to find inspiration.
Her idea was accepted and Chika moved up a level.
NICE!
Good chapter.
