This episode is fine imo. It taking more time to develop Echika and her relationship with Harold. They're trying to make this look as human as possible despite the different backgrounds.

The episode's case itself could've been more interesting and I wonder if it will have a more complex plot along the way.

That the main would get kidnapped or attacked when she left the bar was pretty obvious.
The scene at the beach where the found the remains of the robot made that clear.
We got a pretty good impression of what this anime might offer and so far it seems oke tho i wonder if i will complete this one because it's oke.

I’m not nearly as harsh on Your Forma as LN readers, I really like the world and love a sci fi detective mystery, BUT there’s so many scenes that feel like they should hit harder than they do but you can tell a lot’s been cut. Really a shame.

Like the scene with Harold and Echika on the bridge at the end is supposed to be this really emotional kinda breakup moment for them but after like two eps I can’t really bring myself to really care? Yea I think they’re cute and all, but I don’t have an emotional investment in them yet really. I also just feel like Echika is overreacting? Yea Harold should have given her heads up about the plan, but it worked out in the end and he never would’ve done anything he didn’t feel was completely in his control. Given she just went thru a traumatic ordeal I’ll let it slide but I hope they make up asap.

We got one of the culprits but I feel like there’s definitely a lot more to this than meets the eye. We’ll see what they go with.

Finally, the perpetrator was caught and the suspicion around Harold has died down.

Brain Dive’s feature is kinda cool.

Harold really did it this time—using Hieda as bait. Dude needs to understand a maiden’s heart.

Overall, the episode was good.

This was pretty good actually, if I try not to think about how everything is less impactful having skipped the first volume, which is something I just have to accept. It did feel a bit too fast, but nothing important was cut here (unlike last episode), and the Brain Dive is really, really cool, I can't complain there, it's exactly how I imagined it while reading. I hope they find a way to include some flashbacks though, otherwise the countercurrent doesn't make sense and they should've just cut it. I wonder how anime onlys feel about Echika and Harold conversations, I really have no idea how they sound without knowing their past.

Pretty good episode from Your Forma. The animation is good and the characters are also good. I think the future episodes getting more interesting. Harold is very mysterious and I'd like to know how his character will progress. I'm very intrigued and looking forward for the next episodes. The MAL rating is very unjustified.

I don't understand why this is boring. Because there are no fight scenes every episode? And why is this romance? This is an detective/police anime and in these stories there are often an duo. And the duo must be close to each other for trust. This is how it works.

the whole setup and premise of that kidnapping was terrible.
1 he's a robot, he doesn't have to talk with his mouth to answer a phone call. neither does she.
2 she doesn't have to step outside entirely to give him privacy for that phonecall, just walk to the other side of the room.
3 no cyber-cop would have an open and easily accessible port like that. hell, no human being would have one that easily 'hacked' or 'cracked' within seconds.
4 no cop leaves their back wide open to an alley or street like that.
5 why didn't she attack/fight back before being sprayed with a knockout gas?
6 you're setting up your partner for bait and don't tell them? stupid.
7 where was her separate tracking device not easily found during a search, inside the sole/heel of a shoe, watch, phone, jewelry? not having one? stupid.

also, the guy's face for the androids? yeah, the manufacturer would have mentioned that there was a human who had the same face. duh! obvious suspect when a visual ID of quadruplets (3 bots and a guy) could be possible!

with ep2... the writing quality for this one just went downhill pretty fast...

This episode was decent overall. It focused more on building Echika and Harold’s relationship, which some people liked while others felt it slowed things down. The case itself was kinda predictable, especially the kidnapping part, but it helped clear things up around Harold’s situation. The Brain Dive stuff is still cool, but skipping parts from the light novel is starting to bother a few viewers who feel like the story’s missing some depth.

Visually, it's solid, and the mystery angle still has potential, but the writing took a dip this week for some folks. Some think it's starting to feel more like a romance than a mystery, while others are enjoying the character dynamics. So yeah—mixed reactions, but still worth keeping an eye on.

This episode was pretty good. Now I understand why it feels more like a second season—apparently, they skipped a volume according to the readers. Even so, it was enjoyable.

I’m not sure why Echika hates robots, but she had developed feelings for Harold—not romantic, more like trust and friendship. Now that the robot used her to catch the suspect, all that trust has crumbled. It’s unsettling that models like Harold, despite their directive to protect humans, would do something like that to Echika. It makes you wonder how far they could go or what they might have done in the past.

The second episode of Yoru Forma was more disappointing compared to the first. Despite being a detective-themed anime, the mystery elements were almost nonexistent. It was too easy to predict the culprit, and the events lacked depth. The dialogues felt empty, and it was hard to emotionally connect with the characters. I hope these issues will be addressed in future episodes and that the story becomes more engaging.

Good episode, I just got a bit confused in the middle but it was my fault.
I was suspecting Harold when he was on the phone at the restaurant, then the suspicion went away after he went to save Echika, and then it all came back at the end... lol

The problems of skipping the first book are still apparent unfortunately, I really liked the episode itself, but I can’t help but feel this stuff would be more impactful if we truly got to know these characters, like yeah I can tell it’s a big deal that Echika and Harold are at an impasse because of Harold using his partner as bait without telling her, but it’s hard to feel much since it’s just the 2nd episode lol. Sad but it is what it is, might as well enjoy the show for what it is going forward, I’ll try to not bring up the skipped content as much from here on out.

The case was quite interesting tho, kinda convenient that there happened to be a human (Aiden) that looks just like the robots being the culprit but it was a cool reveal, Echika was ballsy with that hand biting play as that could have gotten bad for her, and very nearly did, but thankfully this was all part of Harold’s plan. And although they’ve caught Aiden and dove into his brain once, we still don’t have the full picture of what’s going on, Aiden’s relationship with Lexie is intriguing and Lexie herself seems a bit too nonchalant about all this, I’m looking forward to seeing how they tie everything together in the next one.

And as a final note, damn having all that digital shit glued to your eyes seems like hell lol, even getting a phone call looks annoying, let’s hope this is something we never adopt irl.

Firstly I gotta say this show has unnaturally good music for what it is. Not complaining in the slightest of course.

This episode far surpassed the first one, I mean its still nothing too interesting but Im hooked enough on the plot. From my understanding its essentially a detective anime set in a future version of the UK. I like Echika and Harold their nothing special so far as mc's but I like them.

I was curious whether their were any humans in this show or if everyone was a android but I guess this answered that. idk I think the most interesting thing about this show is honestly just picking up on the various bits of culture from my home country that obviously isn't futuristic that being said once upon a witches death is also set in a version of the UK and is way better than this.

So I'd say the best part about this anime so far is the music

It shouldn't be viewed as an overreaction, but the problem is the anime is rushing so fast they cut out half the conversation in the novel. In the novel, she outright asks him why he didn't tell her about the plan, because if he had, she would have been willing to help him. Harold's answer is what causes her to completely crumble: He stares at her in silence for a long time, then he says...

"Oh. That didn't occur to me." (protip: also, men in real life, never say this to your woman)

Echika pretty much loses all trust in him because that kind of answer falls in line with exactly how she thinks Amicus view the world (her old prejudice against hating Amicus is not completely gone, FYI), and she is now absolutely convinced Harold only views her as a useful tool to use to solve the case. Even when he promises not to do it again, she doesn't believe him and says he will do something like this again because he doesn't consider human feelings when making his plans. That's why she tells him to leave her alone and let her sort out her feelings on her own.

This could be so much better but it's way too fast paced and also skipping contents even after Skipping the first part. Such a shame I love Robot human romance and it's also gender swapped which is why it caught intrest. I still like it specially Echika but wasn't lot of buildup to make these emotional scenes like the last one connect. Yeah expected more..

Oh that kidnaper definitely did it due unrequited love for Lexie. She didn't even cared..

Both Hieda and Harold visiting the Elpinstone College alumni Lexie Willow Carter to know more about the RF Amicus androids, and her context on these highly-specced robots that have a Black Box problem, it seems like a rather complicated problem to solve. But with Marvin's body found, there's more restriction on Harold, and there's nothing better to do than to drink away and spend time reminiscing the brotherly bond between him and the deceased. Still, the case needs to be resolved somehow, though Hieda got herself kidnapped by the same suspect before Harold could catch on.

The same RF Model, but an isolated human unit to narrow the final whereabouts of the culprit of Aiden Furman seemingly having his disagreements against the professor, there's only one way to know the turth, and that's to Brain Dive into his being to understand the context of the matter, where it all started with the tabloid of the violation against the Law of Respect. Lexie having shrugged off any notion that she and Aiden were close, as much only out of curiosity, and Harold admitting using her as bait to lure him out only exacerbates her own personal trauma, against the dangerous being of Amicuses.

At least for the time being, the relationship between the two is amicable, though vulnerable at best.

If you can't empathize or care at all with the characters doing their thing, or you just feel confused overall or you feel like you're missing something, again its because they skipped a whole fucking volume, and you can blame it on the FUCKING director. HE THINKS THAT ITS BETTER TO SKIP STRAIGHT TO VOLUME 2 SINCE VOLUME 1 STORY IS TOO FOCUSED ON ECHIKA (???) while volume 2 focuses more on how society interact with Amicus and how we will uncover more about RF models. And you know what ? EVEN THE AUTHOR WAS EXPRESSING CONCERN AND HOPED TO START FROM 1 (this is from a jp interview)

I loved the LN, but every time i watch this i kept thinking why sigh.... what a waste of adaptation, it could have been something that scratch that psycho pass itch, the LN did it for me, but i can't say the same with the anime. everything that's gone wrong, blame it on the director Takaharu Ozaki.

it is obvious that the source author, the book editor, and the studio has NOT used a police operations and/or cyber security consultant. hell, i've been OFF the streets now longer than i was ON them as a US Army Military Policeman for my whole career... and i noticed problems 4-7! hell, anybody that has read or even just WATCHED G.I.T.S. would have noticed 1-3, anybody anywhere that is a fan of ANY cyberpunk media would get those...

Pretty good episode we got the culprit and his name his Aiden and it makes sense as to why he looks like them RF models, it’s bc his face was designed on one of them (Harold’s brother) so with that out of the way hopefully Harold can get all the suspicion off of him

Awww the ending didn’t go well bc here I’m thinking both Echika and Harold are kind of a cute couple but it’s revealed Harold used Echika as bait which explains why he was on the phone with the “director” when he wasn’t and now everything feels all awkward now man between them😭

Lexie sus’ing me out man she’s acting way “uncaring” for me tbh it’s like she doesn’t give a single fuck at all which is kinda worrying bc it tells me she might not have human emotions and would do shit for her own interest, idk but imma keep my eye on her🤨

The Brain Dive parts are SOOO cool to me man I love the animation for it that shit be going SO hard bro I love how sci-fi it looks🔥🔥🔥

After reading the replies I now understand the frustration and hate for this anime, it’s bc the studio skipped the entire first volume which makes so much sense now as to why we didn’t get the reasoning for Echika’s hatred for those Amicus robots. But idk I feel like if they introduce bits and pieces of volume 1 through this season or maybe next season that would tie everything together nicely, idk my ass is just hopeful when a show that I think is good is getting a lot of hate😅🥲

Ik the opening song is a banger bc of Yama but GODDAMN the ending song is so fucking good asf man I love it when they lip sync the lyrics and that “giddy giddy giddy” up part is so damn catchy bro I love it😩🔥🔥🔥🔥

So far, it looks like a romantic detective story set in a cyberpunk world. It's a cosplay cyberpunk anti-crime story. The Laughing Man Incident from Ghost in the Shell is an example of a real cyberpunk detective story.
They've thrown in all sorts of nonsense, too.
