Some mod definitely deleted lots of threads today, my post count dropped by at least 60

Yeah, some of your other threads have also turned kinda amazing, though those would have rather belonged to the Forums Games section imho. But even just moving is better than removing without even giving any notice at all.

It's aesthetics. Some even go so far to delete their own older postings on their own to keep a specific number. Given the most of my postings are more than just mere, simple one-liners for the sake of post count and I've never really been the type to push my post count in random gaming threads in clubs, I'm potentially losing valuable digital diary entries of my past self or vestiges of old conversations I used to have in the forums. What if some mod deleted your piano threads, your role playing thread or any of your forum postings where you have invested time, emotions and effort into those?

Which they shouldnt be doing. Especially for old threads that long predate such rules. Keep an eye on what mods are online when you spot a thread disappearing before your eyes and record it. Particularly keep an eye on [redacted], i hardly ever see him lock anything which mislead me to think he's chill but he's likely deleting things instead.

Rules continue to tighten as corporations/governments grow. A lot of forums possible in the past are getting removed nowadays.

@Kwanthemaster Given that the posting number looks is visible on both the profile and the forums, it's much easier imho to track it compared to the Anime or Manga (including Light Novel) list entries. I wouldn't even notice if someone were to delete entries from my list unless some very memorable entries. What's the point of flagging a post or thread that pretty much has no traffic at all? If I recall correctly, there is some hidden board where posts can get restored again which happened once with a football/soccer thread from the past world cup.

I've been doing so as well, but only for a smaller amount and buried under other stuff. However, this shouldn't be the standard.

btw: it's quite intriguing that they deserve the rights to pretty much do anything with your user content (including PMs), but they don't assume liability.

It's one thing to delete more recent threads or postings and another to delete or remove threads that are long in the past. I really wish for more transparency at the very least how and why threads/responses seemingly arbitrarily vanish after a while.

Yes, it sounds like either there is some long report queue or some other reason. I also completely agree with traed here that things shouldn't be deleted.

Yes, but I prefer if you keep names out, there aren't too many potential candidates either way and I wasn't asking for public naming, but rather to both get in contact and to both show that we as users don't like having old responses and/or threads deleted.

Yeah, also one of my 2024 thread got deleted. They all contained harmonious casual discussions. I believe that the removal of all those threads has been too harsh. I can somehow understand locking threads that may be pushed again by spammers or in order to prevent potential flaming if there have been actually signs or if they stop being currently relevant, but deleting should be only reserved as a ultima ratio for critical topics of which none of your threads and none of mine belonged to.
