What's the weirdest thing you discovered in a game on your own (IE: An undocumented easter egg, a rare glitch, etc.)

in Spiderman 2 for PS2, i found this area that i was never able to find again. Some room with a bunch of guys in prison jumpsuits, Spidey made a comment, i died by them and never saw it again

On Gun for the PS2, the final boss is meant to be killed with enviromental traps and is impervious to bullets, i however shot him like 100 times and he died. But the game didn't recognize it so i just walked around the room in an endless limbo

i used a hack in Soul Calibur 2 to access hidden characters in the gallery mode, characters like Berserker and Assassin. Their model's are glitched out and zoomed in and Assasin's bio is mostly filler text with random quotes from the story mode, Berzerker? He crashes your game, literally goes right back to the browser menu. Never happened in anything else

Yugioh Duelist of the Roses, i hacked the Larva of Moth and Pupa of Moth into the game to see their attack animations (they have 0 attack and 2000 defense), they attack animations are terrible, just a recycle of Larva Moth

We're freaking out that we're running out of time, but to do what? Should i stop and think of that? Is there something i could do to slow it down? Live in a day for once, instead of watch it sprinting by

I think I was the first to discover this memory management related crash in Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga back in 2015 (Well, the video I posted as proof was from then, though I think I knew about it for a good few years prior). You just keep talking to this one guy in the bottom left corner of the Beanbean Castle Town (Doesn't matter if you buy advice from him or not), and the game eventually crashes. No other steps needed, no complicated setup, just... that. I know it's not an emulation bug either, since I was easily able to get it to occur on real hardware too. Makes me wonder what'd happen to the game's state if you got it to just before where it crashes, to see if the game behaves oddly. I never experimented much with the bug though, beyond finding it way back when.

While battling dragons in Final Fantasy 3 on DS, I discovered a way for the RNG to guarantee an Onion Shield drop. This is the most common drop, however, and I have since forgotten the method.

I realized in one Yu-Gi-Oh game that AI opponents will never activate the magic cards they set. This greatly enhances the viability of Anti-Spell Fragrance, a card that requires everyone to set magic cards before activating them.

LEGO Jurassic World (PS4)
On the level where the T-rex and Indominus rex are fighting, you play as a raptor.
You jump around on buildings, and there's one area where there's a kind of ledge, and if you run in-place a certain way, it throws you high in the air.
(See my screenshots)

One time I did it I was hovering in complete blackness and the music cut out until I drifted back down.

Another time It put me back to the start of the level and I was stuck there as I'd already done all the prompts and had to restart.

I'm sure others must have discovered this, but I hadn't seen it by others at the time (2017).

Senran Kagura PBS.
I somehow glitched Ranka's eyes in diorama mode. I placed her down somewhere, did something else and when I came back she was like this.

You can see from those bars on the left that it's default, although adjusting them made it worse.
Even exiting back to the previous menu, her eyes were still like that.

Only restarting the game fixed them, and it never happened again.

ECW Hardcore Revolution.
Play as New Jack, wear down your opponent. Body slam opponent outside the ring and you enter the ring and hit Jack's 187 headbutt finisher.
He can't reach the opponent and instead you take damage and knock yourself silly.

SVR '07 (I think it was?)
Play as wrestlers who have a finisher that you hit and then go for an automatic cover (Batista, Kane, Rey Mysterio) and play a TLC match iirc?
Hit your finish just as you are about to run out of stamina and become wobbly onto the table. You become wobbly but the opponent carries on taking the move and gets stuck in the pinning position, and can't be broken up from what I remember.

The weirdest things are usually framerate-related glitches, for example in one game I discovered that initiating a downward attack in midair and instantly looking upwards within the same frame, triggers a catapult effect that launches oneself even higher into the air. This can be done consecutively without ever touching the ground in between, so it's basically a flying glitch.

In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening I accidentally discovered the glitch world. One of the bosses would knock you into a pit which took you to the underworld map. I was feeling rather impatient so I mashed the button I had Roc's Feather set to, so I sorta jumped in mid-air and touched the top of the screen, which took me to a glitched-out screen where tiles would randomly be stuff it didn't look like, such as being able to swim through walls. The dungeon maps were all connected, so you could go to other dungeons and find items before you were supposed to. Basically, it totally broke the game.

In Lego Star Wars the complete collection from the 2000s I found a glitch where I could be able to control the truck outside of the Cantina like it was a character meaning I was invincible. Fucked up the camera though but it was hilarious

Forgot, I also found a fairly easy out of bounds in Partners in Time (Another handheld Mario RPG? Oh brother, this guy STINKS!!!) at around the same time. I swear these games are held together by sticks and chewing gum, which is fine since they're still damn fun. Since I don't have footage for this one laying around (Well I do, but literally portrait orientation footage of it happening on a Nintendo 2DS, at a very low bitrate, with a bad viewing angle), so I actually had to get some new footage straight from MelonDS. :D

Yes, it kinda looks like ass, since making a 30 second WebP that's 2.5 megabytes while still being the max framerate is tough, even with all the levers and pullies that WebP gives over GIF.

Two things come to mind, in games I played before many of you were probably born, lol. In Ultima IV, if you exit Lord British's castle into the overworld, you need to insert the Britannia disk. As you move around the map, it loads the next map chunks from the disk. So if you exit the castle, after it loads the current chunk, take the disk out and put in the dungeon disk. Then head west, and when you move far enough for it to load the next chunk, it will be all garbled and crazy looking. If you search around, you'll find a path through the chaos and a chest. The chest can be opened infinitely, which means time for 9999 gold quickly :) Just gotta be able to heal as you get hurt by trapped chests (random when you open a chest)

The other is Bard's Tale III. When the intro is playing, you can hit U to open the utilities menu. From there, you can import characters from BT1 or 2. It says to insert your character disk when you choose one. If instead you just throw any random disk in, it will still work. The character names will be total gibberish, but they'll often have loads of gold and a lot of good gear. The gear is totally random, based on what bytes it read at the positions it expects inventory but often you can find good stuff. The characters can also be godlike, but don't take them into your party. When you get into combat, they'll go insane and attack everything, including you lol. Just use the for cash and equipment.

in True Crime: New York City, i found a way to make the character lose his hat if you wear an outfit with one. If you glitch your way into water. The game doesn't have any accessable water, but if you clip your way out of bounds, you can swim but you'll automatically drown after a few second. And then respawn without a hat.

Streets of Rage

On this level I found out that you could trap enemies in the corner of the walls by the squishers, and it would count the enemy as being dead when he's still moving.

The thing is I've totally forgotten how I did it? I think you get them in the corner and flip over them, but can't remember.
Did this all the time as a kid though.

There's a glitch in barbie adventures wild horse rescue, that break boundries and makes you go out of bound and even go in unintended areas under the map and under water.

There were a few but only one thing comes to my mind

In Card Monsters if I set the game quality to low (and I had to if I wanted an enjoyable framerate) then there was a chance that two types of terrain would mix together. I'm not sure if I still have the screenshots on a hard drive lying somewhere, but it works by rendering both of them in 3D and simply letting them overlap. So for example when the volcano and the beach map got mixed I had sand dunes between the lava streams. It looked pretty funny

In Fire Emblem (GBA, Rekka no Ken) on the first optional map where you can find the magic seal, I had one enemy change his sprite into that of Eliwood. This fixed itself on the next turn. I never managed to reproduce this glitch, though.

I usually only break games with easily accessible console commands (Quake and its derivatives like Source and Call of Duty, Bethesda stuff) so I'm sure everything I discovered had already been discovered.

Dayspring Canyon's (Skyrim) interior cell has an isolated nordic ruin just floating there in the out-of-bounds area, which you can access with the TCL console command. I remember it taking around two minutes to reach it from the entrance to the cell, but it was very odd, since the music changed once you reached it as well.

In Crazy Chicken Kart 2(unpatched, 1.0.0), proceed to the second race(winter level) after finishing the previous race in 1st place, and don't press a button for 4 minutes and 55 seconds at least while the camera is hovering around the karts. This will glitch the game out and start you in last place. Useful glitch, I discovered that one.

Skipper and Skeeto: The Great Treasure Hunt. There's a special easter egg if you play on christmas where a christmas tree shows up in the study. Undocumented as far as I know.

In Scrimmy Bingus and the Crungy Spingus, you can find the 97th character if you walk into the school computer room after school hours on September 7th. As far as I'm aware, I'm the first person who discovered that.

I don't know if it was rare and it could have been patched by now, but I had a funny glitch in Spider-man Miles Morales. Nothing too crazy, it was just an enemy getting stuck in the ground and having a glitchy seizure. It looked funnier than it sounds trying to describe it.

I had another funnier glitch where one character and only one character was missing half their face/head the entire time, but that was a weird emulator thing.

Let's see...

Assassin's Creed III and Unity - My main characters on a very rare occasion ended up falling through the floor into a bright white void and keeps falling until they die (desynchronise). It's quite known but this is a glitch that happens after I started the games with all the latest patches applied on the console.

Assassin's Creed Revelations - This only happened once but I was freaked out lol. Ezio blew the whistle to summon some fellow Assassins to aid me in a fight. But they were summoned inside the wall of a random building!!! They run and walk but...stayed inside the wall lmao!!! I had to reload the game to try again.

Diablo II - I was the Necromancer in Act IV. While I was activating the seals before facing the titular villain himself, all of a sudden, my Necro stopped moving...as in...just walking and running on the same spot! Then casting spells that damage no enemies! The enemies couldn't hurt me either. I think some code for moving the map when you move your character was broken. This was during the early patches of this game. Hardly happened in later patched versions. Never happened in D2 Resurrected remaster.
Then another glitch was when the hireling couldn't get to me and stuck on far end of a map and after a few minutes he/she decided to "teleport" back to my side lol xD

MechCommander 2 - An OST glitch (but in a good way) happened when I was in the hanger preparing and selecting the war mechs for the next mission. I accidentally discovered that, if you have gone into the save/load screen and just click cancel and go back to the hanger menu, sometimes the main menu theme remains playing and looping indefinitely instead of changing back to the hanger's OST. Then when you enter the next mission, the main menu theme song plays in both the loading screen and the entire mission itself. It felt totally different in terms of atmosphere and I loved it!

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - In the final train fight before facing the final boss on PS4, somehow there is a frame rate glitch where it drops from steady 30fps all the way to about 10fps!!! This remained for some time before it went back to normal. Really odd.

Tekken 7 - AI opponents all seem to be programmed to take my Rage Art! Easy wins because of this and I'm not even a master of Tekken games! Also, as a Jack-7 main in this game, I love the flying move when facing AI opponents offline, because 99.95% of times, they just stayed down lying on the floor so my Jack would simply fly over and land directly on their bellies with massive damage! Weird but made me laugh every time.

Starcraft 1 - Earlier patched versions had introduced the replay feature which was only half-working. Most of the times the units didn't do what I did in the level. I know this was fixed later but I hardly used this feature ever since.

Lego Indiana Jones (PS2) - Character creation bug that would let you play as your creation through more of the hub, and interacting with certain hide items would cause buggy models. Been a while since I've tried to replicate this glitch. Discovered completely by accident.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (Tactical ego shooter / online).
When you run and press the key to throw your character to the ground / into the prone position and simultaneously switch from a gun to a hand grenade your character would get stuck in place during online matches while you could still move freely around.
Like hide somewhere on the map, perform the glitch and you could walk in front of an enemy without them seeing you.
As soon as you throw your grenade or switch weapons tho you can be seen again.
I guess that is why it wasn't well known: First its rare to switch into prone position because performing a slide was the main move to use in order to get to cover. Second it would make no sense to not throw a grenade at your enemy from cover. Also throwing a grenade from prone position was very awkward.

Used it on guys using ammo cheats and annoy the heck out of them by shooting them from behind. They had zero clue how I got to them and rage quit very quickly haha

I'd like to say Pokémon Gold and Silver's cloning glitch, but someone else introduced me to that one.

Kid me was very happy to discover was how to make red eggs in Yoshi's Island. The manual never tells you that the eggs change colour every time they hit the wall, but I noticed stars popping out of my green eggs unexpectedly at times. Then it hit me that I could simply aim an egg to the ceiling and then have Yoshi lick it after two bounces. This isn't very useful in the original game because you can just pop a 20 point star item for 100 points, but this makes getting 100 points in Yoshi's Island DS significantly easier to deal with. The best example being the first secret level which only gives you just enough stars in the level itself meaning you have to memorize all the cloud locations while not getting hit, but if you bring 6 red eggs and make more in an emergency, you don't have to deal with that pressure to the same extent.
Thanks to @KIOSHI_17 for the wonderful present!

I remember once playing llbleed, I went up to one of the beds in the apartment section of the first level, when I happened to fall through the floor to the basement area, bypassing about 20% of the level. I was stunned!
