With the Nokkers alleviated, Renril is back to reconciliation and restoration, except that the bastard son came back only to boot Messar out in 10 days, along with Hairo and Kai as friends. But where he lost the trust of royalty, he gained another with Fushi's vessels and the Immortal himself in Bon's likeness. No matter, the dream outlived with the vessels are much better than anything inside Renril, and Fushi's done with it: the Nokkers, the protecting, the pain and suffering of losing people like Eko. To thank and to apologize, and restore people in a world without the Nokkers, March especially shares the pain being able to finally see him in her original self, but the Beholder stopping time for Fushi to move on, it's time.

Fushi, unconscious but not, his time in solitude is one to be remembered like a grave. But the Bennett Church hearing about Fushi's existence in Renril, the only one person left to do his due: the Hayase clan's only male 6th successor Kahaku, the final vessel for Fushi to claim. And with that, everyday life returns to normal, everyone living until their natural death, ready for their bodies to be transferred to the Immortal.

"The roots were sent by God to protect us." The people's religion that became the consensus for the ED instrumental song, what a symbolic meaning to a resounding finale.

It's truly the End of an Era, this is the conclusion to the Previous Era saga of the manga @ Chapter 116.
The post-credits preview towards the Modern Era saga, and Fushi is ready for more adventures with Season 3 incoming.

Despite the issues I've had with Season 2, this is still a pretty good follow-up sequel.

I enjoyed Season 1 more but it wasn't bad.
I just think the characters in S1 are a lot more memorable. 7/10

What a crazy roller coaster of a season. Definitely radically different from the first one but still interesting nonetheless.

Can't wait to see how the modern environment-themed season will be like.

I thought season 2 was actually really good. Fushi's development was really well done and I thought tthe battle in Renril...well it was very long but still very awesome.

Man I knew Eko was going to die but man when she sat behind Fushi and was eating with him...that hit me hard.

Looking forward to season 3!

With a sad yet needed ending for the cast, Fushi embarks on a journey to cove up the world and defeat the Nokkers once and for all in order to make a world peaceful fopr everyone. As we see the epilogue on the series we witness were each character ended up and how many years have traspassed. It's quite the journey, but as it turns out there's still a chapter left at least, a there's gonna be another season.

I'm conflicted about this since this wouldn't have been a bad place to stop but there have to be some reasons behind this, tales to be told and feelings to be had. As for the current season, while it did start slow without much fanfare considering Fushi's character had changed as well as the setting, the second half more than made up for it with the intensity of the immortality battle. Lots of questions rise, characters died and came back not without consequence and the revival ability got to play a major factor in its conclusion.

I'm skeptical about how things are gonna go next. For now, this wasn't the best season but I'd recommend it nonetheless.

I thought it was the end of Fuchi's story (an anticlimactic one) but now a third season is confirmed. Well, manga readers probably know beforehand.

I agree with season 1 being better but the last couple of episodes of season 2 I enjoyed very much. The ending was also absolutely perfect in my opinion.

I hope season 3 will go well but otherwise stopping here is a beautiful end to a story.

Really good way to end it. I always appreciate a solid epilogue tying all loose ends. But there is more?! I really have no idea what to expect from S3.

One thing that kept me wondering: what's up with this rope? If he threw it away did he cut himself from those roots?

To be honest I found season 2 to be pretty boring until like the last 8 episodes or so. The ending was pretty good but felt like the season had a lot of dead space. Hoping s3 is better and consistently entertaining. Would love for them to go back to the OG studio.

A happy ending is all I wanted. But I kinda wish they actually showed us Fushi's friends going old than just cutting straight to their deaths.

I particularly wanted to see Gugu getting reunited with Rean and March becoming a mother. But I'll take what I can get.

Kahaku at least did one thing I could approve of before he died.

I didn't like the start of the season because of how fast-paced they felt. But from the middle till the end, it was a blast.

I don't think Season 2 was good as the 1st season because of the pacing issues but it was still very solid.

Totally didn't expect Season 3 to be in production already. I'm really curious about what To Your Eternity set in modern times can look like.
Looking forward to it but keeping my expectations low.

I will be honest and say I was never a fan of season 2, it just seemed to drag on and on. I much preferred that 1st season characters too, although I kinda liked Eko in this season, she was a puzzle. Season 3? I dont know if I will watch it. My attention span is not all that long anymore.

I thought this season started off kind of weak but man, what a finish. I think what happened to march is probably the saddest thing i can imagine, and it's sad to see bon like that but i'm glad he got to live out a full life and have a family. i'm fucking crying right now this was just...wow so much in one episode.

It was a fantasy yet literary ending. Each made a life choice. I like this lingering ending that is not overly narrative.

I was surprised for my lack of tears this season but they finally got me on the last episode.

Just curious if anyone noticed Tonari's owl scratching itself with its own feather at the end? Is this a thing all birds do? If so thats pretty dope.

Ah, I cried a little. What a wonderful conclusion to the second season. I felt like everyone's lives were wasted a bit... They could've done more... But that just means they lived as they wanted, which was the point.

Did Kuro get a little emotional there? Character development at its best.

The sheer joy of Fushi after having completed his task of taking over the world with his roots, and finally regaining his sense of self, is just so heartwarming. That is what made S1 so special, and I'm glad they were able to capture it once again, without negating everything Fushi had learned and experienced.

But the thing I'm most curious about is: did we see the Nameless Boy come back to life there at the very end? What were those previous glimpses of the purple eyes? Why didn't we ever see the Boy among the spirits? Did the Boy... become Fushi? Or did Fushi... become the Boy?

Very excited that there is going to be a S3. The modern setting... Should make it quite interesting.

What a ride. It seem this is the crucial ending for many memorable characters of the series. I’m looking forward to watch the third season. Very unexpected what i see in the scene after the credits.

I will admit, the final few episodes were a bit more meaningful, but it still was quite the drag to get through this season. I'm glad the Bennett Church leaders met their demise, along with Kahaku. Fushi parts ways with his comrades yet again, and everyone dies of their own causes, but will they simply be brought back in the modern world that will be the focus for Season 3?

Overall, a disappointing season with poor pacing, characters, and not the most emotional time. Let's hope Season 3 will be better, but I'm not optimistic.

Honestly, I had fun watching this season and would give it the same grade as season 1 for different reasons. First half was definitely slow and what prevents me from grading it higher but I definitely enjoyed the second half more. Looking forward to season 3

This series always had the message of death being the only constant in everyone's life. And it was that theme itself which made season one such a gem. But then this time around, we started fooling and knew Fushi can bring those who died back to life. There started the contradiction and then the eventual conclusion, this season being lower to every standard that first season set.

I liked the ending though, atleast everyone got the conclusion they'd have always hoped for. But now no one's there apart from Fushi of course, no idea what they're planning with the third season.

Also that fat dude got a happy ending too I suppose:)

At least Kahaku did one thing right!
"The future is always blank. Only your willpower can leave footsteps there."

What a beautiful anime. Second season was overall not as tearjerking, but I loved characters like Bon and the bittersweet ending hits different. Didn't read the manga past this point and I don't think the content can possibly keep up with what we've gotten until here.

5/5 episode

8,5/10

Ok so they are going to adapt the next arc, which is probably the most disliked arc by fans.

I wasn't really expecting a season 3 tbh, but I guess NHK will continue to give this show new seasons until they adaapt the end of the manga (which hasn't even happened yet)

As an adaptation this season was decent, they made a good job adapting the story just like S1, though S1 was a little better mostly because the animation was superior.

And as always, they put a little more effort into the final episode.

S1 is more about drama, then S2 is more about worldbuilding so i can tell why many people prefer S1 over S2. Each season/arc, author tries to change the concept.

I'm happy to see there is S3. I'll look forward.

Didn't expect that foreshadowing in the last episode
(light manga spoiler, I hid it just in case)

I can't remember if they were in the manga or not, I'm gonna have to check it out

edit : they weren't, so it's an anime-only foreshadowing. Nice.

Kahaku was never a bad person. He was always on Fushi's side, and in the end he proved it by taking out the Bennett church and the nokker in one fell swoop. I love that his last words were that he loved Fushi.

I just really hope he can be revived with everyone else. It would be so sad if everyone comes back except for him, but I don't know how his reincarnation works. He didn't have a kid so maybe his soul can stick around this time?

I feel season 2 wasn't as good as 1, but still decent. I felt this season lost the mysticism and magic of the first season, but this one focused less on wonder to build more of the characters.

So it ends just like it started, with a huge time skip. At least it makes me feel less sad, if that is even a sentence, that Bon and Kahaku died.

At least Bon managed to form a family and had a pacific death. But Kahaku made me really sad as his last words were declaring one more his love for Fushi, while doing the needed to protect Fushi, as he promised. Guess a "male Hayase" was too much to handle, so if her will is indeed still alive, we might have a reincarnation or something like that coming back. Now as a girl I believe.

Curious about Gugu and March, as they are probably standing by Fushi (just like Eko), waiting for a time where they can live together. Guess besides those three, all the others might gone for good.

Season 3 coming, don't even know what to expect. Modern days slice of life with my immortal friend? Weird.

I agree with what a lot of you are saying that season 1 is more enjoyable than season 2 but season 2 is good as well. Did March really die very young again and never grew up? It kinda feels like Kahaku is a misunderstood characte as he doesn't seem to be villainous but the fact that he's Hayase's descendant and he has a nokker inside him made him do questionable stuff but he did take out the Bennett Church, their followers and the nokker inside him and freed Fushi's other vessels which redeemed him at the end so he's a much more decent person than his ancestor Hayase who was clearly evil. And also, I know what's gonna happen in season 3

The after ending credits..

THE NAMELESS BOY IS FINALLY BACK!
WHO DIED IN SOLTITUDE CRYING FOR HELP AND SOMEONE
MAY YA NEVER FEEL ALONE AGAIN

in of it self.. this was not as good of a season as s1.. but it had its moment.. Kahaku died a Hero's death imo taking out a whole ass religion with him lmao
March death was pretty sad.. I really thought we would see an adult March like from S1 Opening but the pain continue..

First half was 7/10 but later half became 8.5/10 so 9/10... It still had its issue but I am really freaking happy for a 3rd season and would gladly watch the fuck outta it..

Looks like this is the end of the second season. I enjoyed this season as well but not as much as the previous one but it was still very good. Fushi did what he intended. All Fushi's friends are at peace now and Fushi is finally in the modern-day era. It was still a bit sad to think of all his friends who died of old age. Also, I guess... Kahaku did love Fushi. :(

But, the world is at peace now. So, I'm glad about that. Eko died as well. I felt so bad for my little girl. Can't wait for the next season. Though, people don't have good opinions about the manga from here on out. But, I'll keep my judgment after I read or watch it.
