Joe is so worthless. I hope Aoyama grinds his ass into the dust so he can come back a new man.

Seems like Joe is still not getting the lesson Danpei is trying to teach him here, as long as he's giving in to his anger he won't be able to win. That's at least what I'm thinking.

Joe getting beat up was satisfsying, but also frustrating at the same time.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

This is just stupid. Just when Joe finally started trusting Danpei, he pulls pranks like this. Instead of playing games, how about you just explain what the issue is
I understand this is fiction, but it's still pretty ridiculous

You're kidding, right? This isn't a prank. Danpei is teaching Joe a lesson. Seriously, are you even paying attention?

Joe probably feels as if the entire world is against him, he's hurting, yet he doesn't dare to show any of his pain. I feel bad. I expect Joe to lose honestly, he just...can't win under these circumstances.

Aoyama's little boy learned first class techniques under Danpei's care

But... why didn't danpei show this to Joe in the first place?

This betrayal does hurt, strength Joe
I'm not a critic or anything like that but I like to give my opinion

Joe already lost the game before the match started, just the mental beatdown he got from being ignored was enough for him.
Overconfident, not thinking straight and disrespecting the sport ... Joe has a long way to go.

Clearly he isn't getting the lesson Danpei is trying to teach him.

I don't get how none of you understand that Danpei is teaching Joe humility. Yes, it's about learning footwork and blocking, but in depth, it's about respecting your opponent and dodging their attacks. In other words, respecting your opponents power and avoiding getting hit by them. That's why Danpei chose Aoyama, the weakest one there, since he's the most likely to realize how strong everyone is compared to him. Joe, on the other hand, is too prideful to admit anyone is stronger than him, and even refuses to choose the right gloves or wear a mouthguard. Pride cometh before the fall, as they say. Again, he needs to learn humility and respect his opponents. That's the lesson Danpei is teaching him.

This is a hard episode to watch, aoyama is really being a dick in this episode. I really want joe to beat this guy up, but joe getting beat is also deserved since he needs to get his ego in check. Overall great episode with great character developement.

Joe still hasn't figured out what Danpei is trying to teach him, and as a result is getting beaten bad by Aoyama.
