| By now I got used to the stupid, unrealistic situations presented in the show for comedic purposes and I usually just decide to ignore them but I have to say the bomb scene towards the end of the episode was really, really fucking stupid, even by this anime's standards. |

| Yoshikawa is slowly transforming into a chad. ;p Damn, those students are mean. First snakes, and now they forced Onizuka to wear a costume of some creature that resembles hybrid of a horse and a dog, lol. Yeah yeah, Anko lived in pathological family and that's why she tormented others worse than the level of violence that took place in her family. Pathetic girl and pathetic excuses if you ask me. And ehh... I predicted it earlier, kinda. Anko went from hate to love towards Yoshikawa. Too bad that Onizuka was so close to the treasure, and yet he couldn't obtain it. :( |

| This is one of my favorite episodes of the series so far. I like Yoshikawa in a particular way and it’s good to see him like that. |

| Most of the time bullies tend to have issues in the household, parents are as much responsible to their kids' actions in school. But that explosion and Onizuka surviving? No matter what explanation they do that shit is comically ridiculous and very cartoon like. |

| So the bully is secretly in love with the victim, even though she drove him to suicide two times in the past. Also Onizuka casually survives a bomb exploding in his hands. I don't think this show will try to make any sense in the last 4 episodes either. |
| Great episode. Probably the most fun arc yet. Anko loving Yoshikawa wasn't suspension bridge effect. It looks like both had each other in their minds for a long time. But I don't think it was healthy. Only after Onizuka showed up did they change. Can't believe they actually found Amakusa Shiro Tokisada's treasure. Did this actually ever exist or is it just an old legend? Only 4 episodes left. Doubt Miyabitch will get her redemption. But who needs it anyway. |
| I was tired of the whole Yoshikawa plot line but this and the last episode changed my mind on him, I much prefer his resolution now. Onizuka survived point-blank bullet injuries before, but now, a straight-up bomb? This man has better feats than Meruem and Big Mom for that matter. |
| Onizuka going full dog this episode as well as Yoshikawa being a chad in front of such an annoying girl. While I fully condemn her past actions (I mean, she almost made him kill himself more than once) it is also true that some people change. The shipping... I'm not on board but it will probably happen. |

| Yoshikawa and Uehara are literally just a parody of Shinji and Asuka Why, even with Uehara's flashback, it has the same color saturation and similar atmosphere of Asuka's flashback (eventhough they are completely different in terms of inflicted trauma) And yes, Yoshikawa. We know how Shinji had a weak and impulsive willpower; the way Yoshikawa talks, the hairstyle, the way he behaves towards Uehara, all reminds me of my dear old Shinji Not that its a perfect analogy but indeed a curious one |

| Sorry, but in my humble opinion the flashback even after all this time still isn't convincing enough to show real sympathy for Anko. She made Noboru's existence a living hell and in such a dangerous situation still calls him coward and other names, even if at this point he almost looks like a totally different character. Onizuka delayed her possible confession, but as a lot of people in this thread i won't enjoy such a kind of couple. Not gonna lie, this school trip arc was longer than i recalled. "i've been picked on for a long time, maybe i'm used to being afraid" damn, it still hurts hard having been in the exact same situation since childhood and still feeling this way too often as a late 30's adult. |

| PEAK, Yoshikawa out here being the man and MVP. Yoshikawa and Uehara (Anko) end up in a cave, and Uehara tries to lash out at Yoshikawa again thinking he almost killed her. Quite ungrateful of her, jeez. She even beat his face up, but that still didn't stop Yoshikawa. He went to find an exit, and then Uehara gets all tsundere and not wanting to be alone. The wind of the cave is deceiving, there are no voices, it was rushing water, and Yoshikawa saves Uehara once again. He took his hands off quickly as he realized he grabbed her chest, damn. Kanzaki treating Onizuka like a horse, only for him to break free and rush to find Uehara and Yoshikawa, thinking they will take the treasure. Uehara grabbing onto Yoshikawa's shirt was funny, looks like she might be having to have some regret and realizes if it wasn't for Yoshikawa, she would have been dead. Yoshikawa finds a tunnel leading to an exit and reassures Uehara that she will be able to dive for a minute until safety, and they actually make it. Potental confession by Uehara in that old air base church until Onizuka bursts in and gets his treasure. He sees more, but it was an actual bomb and he survives with that hole he frantically dug up looking for treasure. Kanzaki, Yoshikawa, and Uehara are alright as well. Vice President somehow alive and trying to find Onizuka after falling in the ocean and caught in a bunch of fish, wild. Uehara blushing so hard when Yoshikawa wanted to find out what she was trying to say LOL, next episode is about to be spicy |

| Honestly a few episodes ago I believed Uehara grew up a tiny little bit but this arc... She is still the same POS from the start of the show. Nothing is ever her fault. Getting dragged down by a water current... "This is clearly Yoshikawas fault!!! He made me get revenge on him! Otherwise I wouldnt even be here!" Seriously, WTF. I honestly would have preferred if she just didn't get any screen time anymore after the part in the beginning. Tell me what happened with Aizawa instead. Why is she not coming to school at all anymore? Not that I think it is any different with that one. She is still going to blame everyone and the world for anything. But at least that story was the most recent event. |
| honestly I can't stand how much I hate all of them but I can still find it an enjoyable watch, sometimes with decent humour...it makes GTO weird beast of a show to tackle for me; But I'm very much of the view that characters are the most important aspect of a series, and I don't have any attachment for any of them. None of their designs are particularly appealing and they are almost all reprehensible with few redeeming qualities. I understand that a comedy series can still work even when it's characters are all awful people, one of my favourite comedies is It's always sunny in Philadelphia, but even then those types of characters usually have something that endears you to them and makes it more watchable. But I don't feel any affinity towards any character from GTO. I understand the vein of thought that you don't feel bad about the ridiculous stuff they get themselves into because you know the characters are awful and they deserve it and far worse. Another thing almost perfectly encapsulated with this ep however, is that that catharsis is almost never reached in GTO, although they often try. Characters are absolutely awful and rarely see any real just deserts for their actions either. For years I've been hearing how great this show is and how much I'd love GTO, and although I do mostly enjoy the eps and often laugh at the jokes, the more this aspect of the show aggravates me the more I feel like I can't rate this show that highly overall. It honestly makes it quite a letdown for me personally, although I'd still say the anime is generally worth watching. It is strange, atm I'm down to a 6/10 but feel like I can't go much lower lol, on the strength of its OST/OPs and vibes alone I feel like it deserves at least the 6, and it's far from unwatchable. I just wish there were at least one or two likeable characters that I had become fond of, I feel like that would've bumped this anime up a fair deal for me. |
