| According to this topic http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=4555 this feature has already been shot down :/ due to not enough people benefiting from it supposedly so I think this idea would have a better chance being implemented if it is reposted with a poll function to get a number for how many would benefit or not from this GREAT idea. |

| I'd like to revive this discussion since it seems like the case has neither been implemented nor denied. I personally want to add hentai to my list just for the purpose of knowing that I've watched them for a completionist perspective, as well as to know to not watch it again. However, like some users, I don't want the majority or possibly the entirety to be visible to the general public. Yes, I could just "not add hentai" to my list as some suggest, but I feel that defeats the purpose of having an anime list to begin with. The same could be argued for hiding hentai, but that is why I feel it should be a toggle-able option rather than something that is strictly enforced. I don't want my list to be flooded with the multitude of hentai I may watch in my downtime, so I strongly encourage that this topic be revisited. |

I mean when adding hentai on your official list the scores are usually lower since you use a different criteria in hentai than in normal series, whilst in operating another account, your mean score will not affect that of your main list +you can rate the hentai you watch with a different criteria. | It would be nice if just hentai/yaoi/yuri were in a different clickable list for me. I am happy to share and people ask a lot about them from me... And then there are the times when I am trying to reccommend stuff to another person... and sometimes I do forget what was hentai. I am starting to tag the stuff that is so I remember but... yeah. XD It is getting harder to search my list. Half my titles are perverse. I show daring in putting a hentai in my faves list with all the other anime I love. Would be nice if there was a NSFW ranking system for Users over 18 with those R17 titles.... I always want to know how the porns stack against other porns. All Yaoi and Yuri should be under this other list. Would also be nice if the tagging system would be functional for those titles.... if only because people are looking for kinks. |

| Not only hentai but option to hide any selected anime from your list would be nice. Just like with blogs so you can set it to: "randoms who visit your list can't see it but your friends can", "everyone can see it", "only you can see it". I actually don't mind having hentai on my list but there are things such as 3D Onara Gorou ga Dance Dance Dance!! which I would love to hide. |

| I want this. I've tried managing two accounts and it was horrible. I like having all of my shows on one account so I can see overall time spent. Would be nice to have a private section. To people who say they can't find rating trolls, trolls can already make their profiles private so what's the difference? If there's a show I don't want someone to see I shouldn't be told just "don't add it" or "make another list". What's the point of having a list if it's not reasonably accurate? we can already make our whole list private why not just allow us to make certain titles private? Maybe I want to share 95% of my list with the general public and am just more private about the last 5%? So what? |

At the time I made my post I wasn't really considering having family or co-working peer at it, unlike friends you can't pick and choose those. I can see why you would want to keep those away from prying eyes, so I can see the "hide this title" being a valuable feature. For fun, there should be a statistic of how many "hides" a show has so we can see what titles people are most embarrassed about! |

| yes, would like this feature for us female watchers whereas it's more common for guys to watch them xD people say just don't include it but I still want to put them on my list if I actually liked watching it! Some posters/covers look more obvious than others that it's a hentai. haha |

| Don't know how this feature isn't out yet. I tried using two accounts but you just lose so many time to be honest so I gave up the idea. I can't tell if some of the people on this thread are joking or have brain damage 'cause if someone is asking for a way to hide NSFW content from his public data, how can you say something as dumb as "mAke iT pUBliC mAn!" or "MAke A SePAraTe aCcOuNt bRO". The truth is that if you have friend/family/gf that knows that you have an account on MAL and use this website too, I'm not sure you want everyone to knows what you were fapping to. Also, some people like using the same username on different platforms. Imagine having a YouTube channel and someone ruins your reputation/blackmail you for putting a 8 to loli-bondage (that would be a funny way to start a comedy anime to be honest). Having no issues with sharing the hentai in your list doesn't mean that everyone is in the same case and asking for a feature where you could CHOOSE between HIDE & SHOW won't change anything to those people but will save the ass of many. It would be a WIN & NOT LOSING ANYTHING scenario. |
