| I dont know if this have been discussed. I tried the searchbar but it didn't work because of maintenance. My suggestion is an option that allows you to hide the hentai you have on your list from public viewers. The hentai will only be visible for the owner of the list. I want to be able to show my list to people without them getting offended, but actually im just embarrassed. lol I really want to keep track on which ones i've watched without displaying it for other people, but I want to be able to display my other animes for the public at the same time. Anyone feel the same? |

| Unless your list is composed entirely/mostly of hentai, I don't think it's anything you should be embarrassed about :D Besides, nobody is going to hunt through your list looking for hentai titles. |

| Although I don't care at all if someone goes through my list and finds hentai, I'd like to see this implemented. There are people who are afraid of showing that they watch hentai (you can simply not add them... oh well...) and it'd help them. Also, hat way I would be able to give my fellow club friends in school my MAL username (yeah, that's an anime club. i can see you becoming jealous already) |

BTW you shouldn't be ashamed of what you watch. Someone is not going to go through your list and say "OMG he/she has hetai on their list!" As far as the titles go, so what, no one really cares what you watch. I think you are thinking too much into this. |

However, there are other people, other mentality, other traditions, other way of thinking, or they just might show it someone whom they know from real life and who is not so much open minded as you are. And some people might even find you strange because you are watching sport anime ^.^ One more option to manage the list, why not to add it on the long list? [Actually for me it will be good if they hide hentai, because if I am chekcking some one's list, I just look those entries which has "Add" label to them (so I do not have it in my list). And because I am very much opened to most of other genres hentai is just way too far from zone of my interest I wouldn't like to click on those "Add" to discover a hentai show there.] Anyway, it's not a big issue. |

| Even though this isn't completely "necessary" as some people are saying, and even though there are "alternatives", I think a great number of users would benefit from this feature anyway, especially since we discourage making second accounts in our TOS. If this option was implemented, users can keep track of their hentai, and not face social awkwardness when showing off their animelist. |

| Although I'm not embarrassed with watching hentai as yes I've watched my fair share most of it was crap though. Urotsukidoji has an awesome storyline and is the only hentai I think everyone should bother with. I do think this is an awesome idea I was thinking about this before but I just never got around to suggesting it. I was thinking more of a toggle button to hentai on and off so you can either see it on someone's page or not. then the people who don't want to see it won't and you don't have to feel embarrassed as the people who haven't turned the toggle off are obviously as pervy as you anyway. The guy talking about how you'd need to tweak everything above. I don't think you woudl if you just implemented my suggestion. Just have anything with the Rating Hentai no longer show up to people who have the option selected. |

| I'm in for this idea. It's along the line of privacy-morality thing, but I could always not list them. The only difference it makes are Time, Completed, and other stats. No big deal in the end. |

| This is the kind of feature I know a lot of people would use. And if not for hentai, people will use it because they are embarrased for watching kiddy show #1, or for enjoying a mainstream anime even though they advocate against them, or for rating an embarrasing anime really high, or for addictional categorization. (People might turn it into their own personal top 50 list. Or something. People are creative and have their own needs) Want to make this easy to code? Create a seperate list altogether. Have them two completely different lists, called "public" and "private." And all it would need is a dropdown menu next to each anime which says: "Display on: Private/Public/Both." The default is both. Don't rework the system, just rename our current list as "Public" and create a new list next to it. YES, you can keep track of these lists on your own. But, can't you say that about anything on this site? We're lazy people. We always want convienence =) . And this is a usable feature that a lot of people on this website would probably use in some way or another. It has uses outside hentai. We've gotten to the point where we have established all the "bare minimum" necessities for MAL, why not go further and add some luxuries? |

| Just had an experience myself. I gave someone my animelist name, and I never heard from them again although I tried to contact them several times. Before that, no problem. I'm almost certain that my great preponderance of yaoi titles might have had something to do with that, since the person was a mother with an underage daughter, and it was the daughter I was actually supposed to share expenses for Japanese tutoring classes with. I don't really want to hide my yaoi, though, since it's pretty well accepted in this forum. I actually have seen a lot of hentai, too, but I haven't added most of them to my list partly because it's too much trouble. There's too many alternate names that I can't keep straight what I watched myself; most of it was before I joined myanimelist; and I don't have a good record myself to know what to add. And, I admit it, I'm embarrassed. Anyway, actually it's a dilemma what to do. I guess maybe I shouldn't give myanimelist name to anyone I don't want seeing it, and if they're disgusted by me, I suppose I don't want them as friends. Since then (a few months ago), I haven't given anyone Myanimelist name, although I would like to. Another more basic reason I'd like to see this feature is, sometimes I wish I could look at just a subset of my list since it's several pages long by now. I also don't care about changing every single feature in MAL to make the information totally invisible; I just want to stop most people from getting a bad first impression. |

Like a lot of other people have said; I don't think I need this feature but I definitely support this idea! It would be great for MAL to implement this. (And cut down on double accounts). Though I think the best/easiest way for the MAL programmers to implement this would be to, rather than making a specific function for hiding just Hentai, create a checkbox for ALL animelist entries that allows the user to decide whether they want to show the entry to the public, or keep it private. That would be easiest from a programming standpoint, and it could possibly benefit more than just hentai viewers, too. For example, I have not watched Cowboy Bebop yet but I am often ashamed of this fact. ;p It would be nice to be able to have Cowboy Bebop on my "Plan to Watch" list, but that fact would be hidden from the general public viewing my list. Of course my name would on the Cowboy Bebop user stats page,which is fine, but more importantly, it's -not- visible on my list. That's just an example but that's one use I can think of off the top of my head (other than the hentai use). |

| I would really like this implemented(for another reason). I'd like it if I could set it to hide other people's hentai titles from their list when I am looking at it. So when I am looking through their list for animes I have not seen(and am looking for titles that actually have good stories) I don't have to click 100 hentai titles in the process(depending on the list, but many large lists contain hundreds of them). |
 8D Although seriously, perhaps a general hide function for individual anime instead of entire sections could work more. But I can see (or I think anyways) how long that would take, and would it ultimately be worth it? I dunno. |

| LOL I'm actually proud of the fact that i have all episodes of Night Shift Nurses Season 1 flagged as 'watched'. Also, people that wouldn't hide their Hentai would look weird compared to the ones that do hide it. I don't support this idea. |
