| A nice surprise. There are far too few mahjong animes, so I'll watch this as long as they keep on actually showing them play mahjong. Nodoka's boobs can make an entire episode watchable, but not an entire series. |
| I've never actually seen the original (should I?), but I thought this was pretty cute :) Nice characters and did a good job of setting the scene for the rest of the series. Looking forward to seeing who's introduced next episode! |

| Nice to see a bit of Nodoka's backstory (and the story in general) from a different point of view with new characters. A little odd to not feature the namesake character in the episode, but I guess that's just how it is as a side story. At first, I felt the episode was a bit slow, but near the end came that shining, exciting feeling that was common in the parent story. Also interesting to see Kuro's special ability to be luckily gathering the dora in a match. Lots of dora in a hand means she'll be a big hitter for points if she completes a winning hand. Now I'm curious on what other kinds of "h4x" special abilites the other characters would have. |

| A brigade of lolis playing mahjong, my dream is fulfilled. I had been meaning to get to this and now I'm starting to see how this pieces together towards the main series and Nodoka. Based on what bits and pieces were referenced in Saki, this set up was different from what I imagined. Looking forward to this side story and more moejong. Got a good laugh out of seeing the penguin plushy thing in Nodoka's room at the end. But holy smokes those melons are outrageously enormous. |

| Finally I'm back! I've been playing games a lot since there was a lot of new releases. Played Ratchet and Clank(PS4), Dark Souls 3, Uncharted 4 and Hyper Light Drifter. Also finished some of my backlog like Alien Isolation, Nier, Portal 2, and all of the God of War prequels. All that kept me busy for the past like 3 months. But now I can go back to waching anime regularly since there is no game right now that interest me. Until Deus Ex: Mankind Divided which is in like 2 weeks... Now onto the episode. Aww yeah! Kana Hanazawa! Fucking love her! Pretty good start. So I guess this is the perspective of a different team? |
| A bit worse than the Saki start, but still fine nonetheless, as someone who likes HanaKana and Nao Touyama a lot, seeing them as main characters pleases me so much. |

| Ok, I was doubtful at the start, NGL. I mean, I came into this hoping to see an independent story about Achiga in their run-up to the Inter-High, not a fanservice run of Nodoka's middle school days. Then came the casual sexual harassment or middle school girls. And then the power of getting all the Dora popped up, which has to not be the stupidest one yet. Well, I can't say that those concerns were solved by the end of episode, except for one anyway. But... I'm properly hyped for what's to come. In fact, more so than I was at the end of Season 1. I also totally get behind Shizu's struggles to organise and run a club with very few people around, as well as how vexing it is when everyone slowly moves away. |
