Your typical shounen type fights are mainly focused on the combat alone, giving us some flashy action. In between action sequences, characters will usually pause and begin monologues that overstay their welcome. "I'm going to FIGHT you!!!", "I'm bleeding, but I'm going to battle till the end!", "I need my inexplicable end-fight power-up, so here's my tragic but basic backstory."

A fight that has weight, or actual substance behind it, are more effective in providing overall impact. Instead of characters yelling "KAHMAEHAHMAEHAAAAA!!!!", we get a clash of ideals, mostly revolving around fundamental good and evil and what it means to be so.

Watched Bakemonogatari during a phase where I was feeling slightly burnt-out from watching anime, almost forcing myself for some reason. I'd probably enjoy it a lot more if I watched it now, as I have actually nearly cleared up my PTW list and can now take it more easy. I know, making this almost a chore is pretty pathetic, but mentally that's just how I am. Anyway, now that I'm taking it more casually, I really can appreciate the style of this series. It definitely isn't for everyone and is certainly rather niche. However it does have a large following, and I'm going to say that I'm going to become one of them. This series is just art; Shaft has done an impressive job at adapting the monogatari series so far, and it's supposed to only get better.

It deserves an 8 or even a 9 out of 10, but just based on my own enjoyment it still just gets a 7/10- still good though, of course lol

Lots of wonderful cinematography, music, action choreography, brutality and emotional beats which made a season finale which had me shedding tears. Yeah, even the super fanservice focused season could do this!
Beautiful stuff. From literally one second in, I was really into this episode, they told Tsukihi's story/origin in a really impactful, beautiful, understandable way. Supernatural entities are so interesting in this show! The kiss scene was actually super fun, too, good way for Araragi to work out she's truly family to him, hahaha.
Fight scene was crazy, like, really fucking brutal but also really bad-ass, Araragi's great.

Teen Shinobu is hot, awesome design, she's so cool!

Well it looks like I'll be on the Monogatari path for awhile. I was a little uncertain after the Kizu movies tbh. Even thought I enjoyed them I thought they weren't as strong as the original Bakemono. But Nise brought it back for me, and I hope it will continue.

The speech by onmyouji specialist Kagenui was quite interesting, made me feel like I was back in a philosophy course in college. Maybe not at the level of Kant, but I found it quite engaging and it continued to shed light on the specialist characters. One character who is really growling on me is Shinobu/Heart-Under-Blade. It's interesting and a visual delight to see her transform after feeding. I also liked the story of the phoenix and supernatural cuckoo. Basically I'm on board to uncover more of these monster stories. Bakemono is still #1 for me, but I'll hand this series an 8/10.

As expected, it did focus on the sisters and I liked their respective arcs a lot, but I feel like they could have done it in far less episodes. Though it might have meant missing out on the toothbrush scene :(

Maybe things will make more sense as i watch more seasons but right now i am still not able to grasp how araragi solves problem just by talking. the only time he shown us his true potential was in kizumonogatari. welp the morale of this season is just Fake one always tries too hard to be real that' why it finally they become more real or something like that. 8/10

I just love Araragi's stories, and in this anime, more attention is paid to his friends.

Im relativity new to the mono series and Im bad at going into depth into characters and I feel like nisemono is is only good if your in depth into the mono series and you can understand the meaning of characters. I would rewatch this in the future if I got more into mono im hoping that will happen but it seems so far its atleast top 10 animanga

Damn teen Shinobu easily demolished Ononoki to the wall of oblivion while Araragi is just his usual stuff LOL

Cool last episode and to Nekomonogatari: Kuro I go!

Weakest Monogatari installment so far. Character arcs weren't that good and pacing was painfully inconsistent throughout the whole show. Kaiki as antagonist was interesting but he needed way more screen-time in my opinion.

5,5/10 -> 5/10 - Kanbaru and especially Shinobu carried hard this time.

Now onto Neko~

Definitely the weakest Monogatari media yet. That really just lies in the fact that I didn't really care for Araragi's sisters and they both took up the entire season. Did like these last couple episode tho. Really just didn't like the Karen Bee arc.

Though I can already see my new favorite character being Ononoki, whenever she gets her time to shine.

You can see Araragi's ahoge shaking when he has to lie to Karen to explain what the hell happened. Nice attention to detail. Weird how Karen just believes him tho. Ig she doesn't really have any reason to not believe him.

Araragi my dude, you didn't have to kiss your sister just to prove a point. I know he's not your real sister, but it's still weird. Japan will be Japan I guess. Her reaction was funny tho.

So, it's all Kaiki's fault. It's as if he didn't want to leave the town before giving Araragi one last "fuck you" for screwing over his business scamming middle-schoolers. I think that's the business he was talking about in the last episode LOL. But still, Kaiki, Kagenui, and Oshino being from the same college batch is crazy. And they all pursued a supernatural career just because they were in an occult club? Despite probably having a good degree? Or maybe they had a useless degree like the astrology degree they give in India.

Grown-up Shinobu is crazy hot. No need to elaborate more.

After all that talk, Ononoki's posed face was used to wipe the floor with former-Heart-under-blade.

Araragi and Kagenui's battle of ideals was amazing. Probably the best fight scene of the series yet. Araragi's ghoulish face was also intimidating.

Well, that's the end of Nisemonogatari. Idk why I rated it so highly before. Maybe I liked the incest. Or that this series only focuses on two stories instead of 5. I liked how this one was more focused compared to the previous one. In reality, both Karen Bee and Tsukihi Phoenix have the same impostor theme but done in a different way.

What a bad beating Koyomi took, being immortal is good but he must also suffer a lot.

Karen doesn't know what really happened to the house, but she's a great security guard.

Tsukihi received her first kiss and also from him, her reaction when she realized XD 9/10

Decent follow up season, imo. Might've enjoyed this slightly more than bakemonogatari because of the central focus being on the Araragi family but I was hoping this finale would land a bit better, it kind of felt like it came down to talk no jutsu which honestly wasn't really bad either but you know...

7/10 from here, Renai Circulation and Hakkin Disco achieved. Can't wait for Mousou Express and White Lies next!

Araragi v Kagenui fight was hard to watch with him taking such beating but he still kept going with his ideals and won the right to protect her Tsukihi. Whatever she is doesn't matter. Shinobu is still able to recover and she can still kick ass for a grandma, Yotsugi had it coming.

Nise seemed like set up more things for S2. Karen and more of Tsukihi didn't got much screentime. Karen and Nadeko did peak stuff. I would have liked more of fire sisters this arc but when mattered at the end they both got good emotional scenes. Toothbrush & first-kiss not bad..

Siscon saved the day✌️

This is the best episode of Nisemonogatari imo. I liked it way more now that I'm older. In particular, we get to see a side of Araragi that I particularly like. The conversation with Kagenui in particular helped accentuate that characterization of his, and tied it back with the main theme of Nise. He has faith in his evil.

Also, I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but in the commentary track (the one with Karen and Kanbaru), there's a Katanagatari reference sneaked in, I think.

Edit: Forgot to mention, but it's also here in the Tsukihi Phoenix arc in which to me it feels like the monogatari series has finally found its footing. Everything before always came off as a bit aimless
