Nope, it plays out exactly as in the anime; probably a minor plot hole.

I mean I get it, Chousou is also locked in fighting Naoya and it would be a disservice to cut that fight short with yet another "my baby bro is dead again" crisis.

"Plot hole" is crazy work. In any case, I think it's either simply a matter of Yuji not being truly dead (even when he died in S1, his soul was still running about inside his body) and/or Choso just not having a moment to spare because he was fighting. I'm leaning towards the former though.

Yuuji's soul was also in his body in S2 when Choso was half a breath away from killing him and Choso downright lost his shit, sure it might have had something to do with his big bro himself dealing the blows but still, Choso seemed very attuned to Yuji's vitals.

After watching these two episodes back to back, I'm pretty excited to see what this arc has in store. The fights themselves were very impressive, especially the fight between Choso and the arrogant Naoya in the tunnel. That went really hard on the sakuga and it felt very satisfying to see Choso chalk up a win here.

I did think that Yuta was truly serious about taking down Yuji, but I'm glad that Yuta was only putting up a front on that and his main goal was to protect Yuji thanks to Gojo's request. There's no denying how insanely strong Yuta is when he needs to be, so having him as an ally is a blessing.

This third season being a split-cour was something I didn't expect, but I think that's a good thing, since I do recall how some episodes in the Shibuya Incident Arc having its moments of quality drops among other issues, so if this means that the production values will be more consistant overall, then I'm all for it. =)

Didn't read all those rules lol
@bokmanrocks The 8 Original Rules
Participation: After awakening a cursed technique, players must declare their participation at a colony of their choice within 19 days.

Penalty for Refusal: Any player who breaks the first rule (fails to enter) will be subject to Cursed Technique Removal.

Note: Shoko Ieiri confirms that forced removal of a technique from the brain is fatal for the sorcerer.

Entering a Colony: Non-players who enter a colony barrier become players immediately and are considered to have declared participation.

Scoring Points: Players score points by ending the lives of other players.

Point Values: Points are determined by the game master. In general:

Sorcerers: 5 points

Non-sorcerers (Civilians): 1 point

Adding Rules: Excluding the value of their own life, players can expend 100 points to negotiate with the game master to add one new rule.

Rule Veto: The game master must accept any proposed rule as long as it doesn't have a "marked and long-lasting effect" that would hinder the game's continuation.

The 19-Day Rule: If a player’s score remains the same for 19 days, they are subject to Cursed Technique Removal (death). This forces everyone to keep killing or trading points to stay alive.

Good to see Yuta back. I wonder how & when will he die🤔

Ah yes Tsumiki more suffering..
Also lots of Maki and Mai in the OP so that zenin clan arc will be this szn too probably and again more suffering.

Choso is definitely BEST CHARACTER of the Season, either when he is goofy or serious. The speech of brotherhood that he spill to Naoya was so touching

Thank God Yuta was faking that hatred toward Yuji, I thought all this time he was just stupid to want him death because that injury that suffered Inumaki (and thankfully my friends that read the manga never spoil the secret to me)

@pansz how come? animation wise?
@Kalashnicole For me, it was mostly the soundtrack; it wasn't used well and felt somewhat out of place in the episode. The animation clearly worsened a bit, but it's at the same level as the previous season. If you don't mind characters looking like jelly to move faster, you won't mind this episode.

How am I to live with the knowledge that Kamo Noritoshi fucked Yuuji's dad and gave birth to Yuuji?!

It's also a very neat detail that Tengen is the narrator from S2.

Maki, my queen, also became hotter (literally} with those burns. In fact, I really love this short look on her.

As for Yuuji himself, I need somebody to hold his hand and tell him that he has done absolutely nothing wrong...

Is she the fake Geto? I don't know what's wrong with me and this show, but I'm not understanding anything... I had to read your comment to realize who was the woman with the scar in the flashback of the protagonist when he was a baby. Literally for me she was a random girl never seen before, so I didn't feel the plot twist, hahaha...

I don't know if it's because the writing could be better, or because the names are difficult to remember, at least for me, especially because of how they alternate between first and last names indiscriminately...

It's funny how watching a series itself can spoil it for you... I wish I could have felt the plot twist, sadge.

@FlashKnightAnime You're right. I shouldn't be able to see wtf is happening on screen and the animators have NO other way of showing fast-paced fighting sequences without melting, formless blob nonsense. That was silly of me to express a PERSONAL preference for the kind of the animation I like during fight scenes.

Why do I even bother with you people...

Now this is probably the most hyped Ive ever been to start a new season of any anime ;)

How packed were these two episodes ! From Okkotsu turning out to be the goat to Choso bein an absolute bad ass and meeting Tengen !

The art style, scores and animation is so good it really feels like there's a lot of love put intothis season!

Banger episode. Choso vs. Naoya was great, Okkotsu and Megumi talking to Itadori to try to relieve his guilt somewhat was handled pretty well, and the whole gang getting together to visit Tengen is pretty cool.

I did not expect Tengen to have that voice, although it does make sense that the most knowledgeable character in the cast would be the one narrating each characters' techniques throughout the series.

Great stuff. Can't wait for more.

So I watched this recently, and well animation is looking better. Seems the production this time around is better.

Yuta is the real deal and you can see that the fights of this season will go insane, and I am looking forward to seeing them.

However I gotta say though, this is where the story drops into a cliff and ironically makes JJK carried by animation.
Seeing Tengen and Kenjaku gives me flashbacks why I am saying this.

Yes the time has come for the story writing to decline

Oh. I remember now, so what Yuji meant was that Megumi has already been targeted by Sukuna. I really loved that moment when Megumi said Yuji could start by saving him first. It really reminded me of their first meeting back at the beginning of Jujutsu Kaisen.

YESSS ALSO CHOSO!! That technique! So satisfying seeing Naoya end up like that haha. Taken down by Choso's technique and looked down on by Yuta~ totally deserved. He really is trash and trash belongs at the bottom anyway.

Maki!!!! My love. Her hair is short now and her body is covered in burn scars. That brief moment where Yuta was worried about Maki for just a few seconds was so precious to me.

Now they are all going to meet Tengen.... or maybe they already have.

Oh, also. From the conversation between Yuuji's dad and his grandpa, does that mean his dad was actually "aware" that something was off about his wife? Because it feels like the grandpa definitely noticed there was something strange about his daughter-in-law. I'm still a bit confused about this part though.

Animation has been amazing.

But goddamn I have a lot of trouble remembering the stupid names and their faces in this show that I don't typically have with other shows. Noritoshi Kamo is starting this culling game! Help meeeeeeeeeee.... And I'm like... Who? Who the hell is Noritoshi Kamo? I of course googled it. Like I recall the name Kenjaku, but Noritoshi Kamo was an immediate blank. Tends to happen with a lot of other characters too.

The raw emotion that these animators are able to show off in these characters belongs in the Loruve because of how beautiful they are.
When Yuji and Megumi are talking to each other this is when you can see it the best, especially when talking about Nobura...:{

Also brother of the year award has to go to Choso, bro's always putting his brother's first and also packing a punch with his cursed blood techniques!
