Wow, no one has created a topic for today's episode yet. Has the hype for this series died down?
No one is specifically creating fan art for this series, and few people discuss it. It's hard not to get the impression that this is one of those anime where a lot of work has been put into it, but few people seem interested.

I love how this anime casually revive people from the past. No one ever died, and I like it.
This time it's a hot werewolf!

So Musashi was the sensei of that Jubei guy, and he's joining the group now that's cool but sure he needs to stay away from alcohol ahaha

At least it's quite popular in Japan (though tv ratings can be heavily influenced by airing right before Detective Conan xd). And well - it's basically classic monster of the week action shounen and it really isn't very interesting genre and series structure for mainstream viewers. And even people from sakuga community aren't very interested in this show due to its format, even thought it's one of the best looking anime of the year. It's a bit of shame, because it's very good anime, but well... - that's just how it works, it seems xd

Kojiro couldn't stand up to Jubei but it seems like he can't do that to alcohol. I wonder if he's able to stay in that form by being sober due to his devotion and after collapsing is when he becomes a menace. Regardless, while Yaiba masters a new technique with his and keeps him on check, Onimaru is also proceeding with his own technique.

There's still a while to go and I'm already missing Nadeshiko.

Jubei looks bigger and taller in this adaptation.

The humour of the original which I call Yaiba classic is off the charts. It's much better than even Ranma 1/2.

What did this new adaptation do? It made it semi serious despite it being said to be more faithful to the manga that not many see it as a parody. That's what you get from removing so much of the humour, which I admit is great for grade schoolers.

But when you elevate its tone to that targetting teens, it seems so-so. No wonder people just call it 'carried by animation.'

Jubei turns into a wolf under Onimaru's summoning control when drunk! But he can't resist alcohol! Liked that fight down to seeing double .. no triple ... as he literally couldn't resist any alcohol thrown at him.

Well they have a new ally / frenemy? Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Now they can't let him drink anymore, that guy is dangerous when drunk.

So Conan temporary transforming back to Shinichi, being related to alcohol, is basically Aoyama-sensei recycling the werewolf idea from here.

Jubei is a great addition to the team; he's hot, he can fight, and he has a good gimmick!

The duel with Kojiro was very funny, I enjoyed it a lot.

@JHOMei I don't think so, considering Detective Conan is arguably more popular lol

And yeah, it's a shame there isn't much interest in YAIBA anime, but I guess its concept would need to be more "modernized" to catch people's attention, at least more substantial. I wish there was more fanart and discussion about it, it's not a bad anime but shame it's not getting much attention even with its amazing animation.

@Soleks100000 I wouldn't recommend this show to anyone tbh. Animation alone doesn't make this show a must-watch. I'm not impressed with this show so far. Way better shows out there with animation that is not as good. And a 2021 poll shows that Japan isn't a fan of the manga either, despite the manga selling well.
